  1. My opinion is that as long as you don't feel pain in the back then you are doing okay, and to stop the moment if you do. I've always maintained that a max weight rep will naturally round the back because that's what the back does when it's being pushed to it's limits. For lower weights we keep it as straight as possible. You can see Martin rounding in a few of his vids too. As for squat depth, whilst I say no harm in going deeper for certainty, the judges gave her one red light on the previous squat, so I don't think they were being too lenient. Plenty of red lights went up for the day too. It's hard to pick the depth from the video because Leesh's pants were the same colour as the spotter's.
  2. P.S. It's sad to read ignorant comments on FB about Leesh's vids, carrying on about form and squat depth etc. Last I checked, 3 white lights meant a successful lift. Talk about jealousy / egos feeling threatened. I'm reminded that it's the internet, where everyone is an expert on exercise. Have seen the same garbage posted on some of Martin Nguyen's videos. How anyone can tell a record holder they're doing it wrong is nothing short of delusional. Put up or shut up.
  3. My lifts were nothing extraordinary haha, no need for vids. I'm wrapped Markos took vids of Leesh, though - I forgot to do this / was too busy cheering her on. To hear him describe it as incredible is quite a compliment - this is a man who has filmed a 17 year old kid pull 300kg. Leesh's deadlift is standout because it was the heaviest female lift of the day from memory - achieved under basic training from me, so imagine what she would be capable of if she trained with the PTC crew. Might be on the cards when she moves to Melbourne.
  4. Man fk this forum and its infinite bugs that just appear out of nowhere. Pat is correct in use of terminology; a trade is not what you call a career in the strictest sense of the word, though plenty of people do these days. Career traditionally implies a pathway of growth through promotion and pursuance of opportunities / different roles throughout the life of your work. Yes, it's atypical of office work. A tradie can do this in a large company with the room/roles for it, however most don't start with that intention or ambition in mind - usually the ambition, if any, is to go out and start their own business at some point within the same trade and grow it beneath them rather than rise up. It's not often you hear a tradie talking about their "career", with good reason.
  5. I wasn't even at this deca, nor do I give a shit about the results and I'm getting sick of the laziness with the results
  6. Love them or hate them, they sure do enjoy a lot of freedoms over there
  7. Meanwhile in America Dodge Challenger Hellcat 527kw, 880nm From factory will run the quarter in less than 11 seconds $60k USD So glad there's a nation out there continuing to produce something like this, while the rest of the world pussies out of fking the environment
  8. Teenage girls "share their experiences" on FB. I say you're having a whinge, which is fair enough if you can't do anything about it, but you can, as long as you're still alive. People with less than you have, have done more than you want to do...how does that not inspire you? People have told you what to do Grant, even offered you help...why not listen or accept the help? Like I said before, doing nothing is the worst thing because that pretty well leaves you where you are now, which sounds unhappy. Rarely does a startup business turn a profit in the first year. If they do they either had a shitload of capital, got very lucky or have a niche product/service to begin with. Anything "me too" needs time to grow. You're living with parents, aren't you? Now would be the time to do something while you have that safety net. Also, volunteer positions don't guarantee you a job - sometimes they are harder to get than paid - especially if it's a role helping people and there are laws involved. If there's more than one applicant they are still going to choose the best and you still need to meet a set of criteria.
  9. You got a bad attitude towards your car? Haha
  10. Can't help the people who don't want to be helped! But Grant, I'm really confused by you, because on one hand you complain that you aren't doing what you want to (have heard on many occasions), but on the other you take apathy / say you cbf cause you'll just disappoint yourself...so what is this really? Cry for help or attention call or do you actually want to be something different? I guess what I'm saying is, get busy living or get busy dying. What have you got to lose by trying? Money that you'd blow on car parts and overseas trips anyway. Sitting in limbo, between two places, is the worst place to be mate. Have been there a few times myself and I've since learnt to just pick something and do it even if you're not sure it's the right thing to do. Life is about trying shit and you always miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

To whoever just tried to steal my silver 33 and hightailed as soon as the alarm went off...suck my dick and get a job like everyone else. Your mate in his getaway shitbox can smile for the cameras.
  18. Fair few friends have changed career paths...haven't seen many who have looked back...cept for those who have started their own businesses and failed, then returned to the original industry or tried something else.

  22. Food is awesome How dare you speak on food like that?
  23. You win - I can't argue with marketing designsx to tickle the egos of self-identifying intellectuals by literally calling them non-sheep in an advertisement and praising their free thinking ability that would lead them down the path of purchasing an M8...oh the irony
  24. Speaking of, terrific guy. Was wrapped to have Leesh and I down there; should have seen his face light up when I told him who I was haha. Truly one of the friendliest and most supportive environments I've been in; the atmosphere was great, along with the intensity of all the competitors - some huge numbers went up from amateur lifters, who could give some pros a run for their money. Attendance was incredible...50+ lifters and 7+ hours of lifting, with just as many spectators...thought this sport was dying! Gotta hand it to Markos and people like him who are devoting their lives to keeping it alive. Will be back for more!
  25. Cheers Tolga I might have had 195 in me, but not 200, not today. Unfortunately I was a bit hefty at 84kg late last week, so had to eat clean and shed weight to get into the 82.5kg class. Came in at 81.2, so went a bit too far starving myself and paid the price on deads. Nonetheless, pretty happy with my lifts cause I didn't miss one. Adrenaline pumping and humbling experience all in one Leesh did very well, super proud of her...I believe she took the strongest female deadlift overall @ 122.5kg. Leesh missed that 75kg squat in the gym on Thursday, so to have her make it in comp was awesome to see. We both need to work on our squats, cause they really hold us back from half decent totals. Might get some help from team Markos with that.
