  1. The extent of my E85 supporting mods are my 040, Nismo 555s, Z32 and PFC. Have been running it for 3-4 months without issue. Just running a standard Ryco inline filter and standard fuel lines...thought this was fine as long as you changed them with your oil filters
  2. It's pricey but so are retests...I considered it insurance at the time. My instructor and the tester were old mates and the instructor was telling me he hoped we would get him haha.So yeah, in short, I shouldn't be on the road.
  3. Do driving test with an instructor IMO. They usually know the testers and do a good job of keeping them half distracted while you drive. Have heard that doing the test in your own car can hurt your chances. Pretty sure it has to be a roadworthy car and, well, the cops look down on Skyline drivers, so maybe VicRoads staff will too?
  4. Did I miss something...is there a special filter needed for E85?
  5. That's alright then. Yep,that's exactly what they do...prey on ignorance with the common man...but the moment you show them that you know what you are talking about and what you are entitled to, they will move for you because they know it's illegal.
  6. It doesn't matter; you're not going to get either one of them.
  7. And that's the last tl;dr for the day; my fingers are getting sore.
  8. People: your "dispute" is with the person who hit you / you hit. Insurance companies are merely a proxy for those involved in an accident. Hypothetically, if someone wrote off your 10k car and they were only insured third party for 8k, you would still be pursuing the other 2k from that individual, not their insurance company. With this in mind, legal resolution must occur between the parties involved in the accident. Therefore, those involved can only elect to have an insurance company represent them, i.e. they make a claim and the insurance company effectively acquires the debt and legal proceedings from their customer for as far as they are covered in their PDS. Now, if you are not at fault, another party's insurance company has no right to dictate to a non-customer what course of action you must take for resolution (including where it is repaired), beyond what the law states you are required to do. You have no contract with this insurance company, nor have you purhased a product from them with a PDS that you have agreed to. As a proxy for their customer, all they can do is argue that your quote(s) is unreasonable and challenge it in a judicial hearing aka VCAT. This costs $35 for a hearing. VCAT will then obtain quotes themselves from their own assessors / panel beaters to decide if your quote was actually reasonable or unreasonably high. It is the same deal when no insurance companies are involved and the parties disagree on quotes - insurance being involved doesn't change how the law works in dispute resolution. Most insurance companies won't bother taking it this far if your quote is a grand or so higher than theirs, as they have to pay to send someone to VCAT to argue a case they could lose. Some just try to make it sound like you have to do as they say, because, if they can save even $100 on a quote, the assessor looks good to his boss. Above all, if you are not satisfied with any repairs, you can challenge this in VCAT also. Status quo must be restored, leaving your vehicle how it was pre-accident and you without loss/damage. Source: spent too much time in VCAT hearings and dealing with scumbags
  9. Dezz that sounds a bit shit, like they were giving you a mess around...I'd have told em where to go if I gave a shit about the car. Did they do at least do a decent repair?
  10. Yep, I mean like a KC Laser GL compared to a KE Laser Ghia.
  11. Life makes sense when you give in to god.
  12. But we don't think you're all the same and we never said that. Most of our laughter is directed at the organisation rather than any attendees, unless they share the same sentiment as OP. The two best 34Rs I've ever seen are owned by two of the most down to earth dudes to attend a car meet. These are cars that have had well over 150k spent on them in modifications alone and neither of them have the "we are the elite and need our own meet with security and no spectators" mentality. So we aren't painting you all with the same brush.
  13. lol yeah that guy was like having the KKK side with your argument. That OP tried calling me like 11ty times after I SMS'd him yesterday. What a stalker kunt.
  14. Does he realise his vehicle is simply the premium version of the very next model after the R33 GTS-T? Kind of puts things in perspective / smears dirt on that clean slate, doesn't it! But he demonstrated perfectly the kind of mentality that I was talking about in my tl;dr. I wasn't branding all 34R owners as douchebags - just those who talk a bit like him and OP do.
  15. We're pretty forefront as far as technologies go...there's more than a few industries where Australian developed technologies are head of the game.
  16. And just like the Mack, you know that I'll be back.
  17. I'd try for it! Worst case they say no and you waste a drive to Dandy. I do think you have slightly more bargaining power as the third party to the accident.
  18. Conversely, you also don't have to be satisfied with their repairs and can contest that. Remember legal studies Ric; the law seeks to restore the status quo. If things aren't the way they were before (and you wouldn't even recognise me anymore), you have the right to challenge it until you are satisfied. Oh and get a hire car for free out of the fkers too.
  19. It's like people thinking Just Cars will force you to go with a repairer from their list. It's actually illegal to do this, to my knowledge. Had a panel beater tell me this, that they just word it cleverly in their PDS to make it sound like you have to. All they can do is contest a quote they think is too high, like every other insurance company. So when I had repairs done, that's exactly what happened. The Just Cars assessor said if I really wanted to I could go with my quote. I ended up choosing theirs because, when I looked at the finer details of the quotes, their recommended place was actually going to do a better job...
  20. To my knowledge you can have anyone you want repair it anyway. You're not held to ransom by their insurance company or having choice of repairer on your own policy. It's not your fault if the other party that hit you has cheaped out on their insurance or not. Hence you can have it repaired wherever you want and you can refuse their company's quote / place of repair. Their insurance company do have the option of settling it in VCAT if they think your quote is too high and refuse to pay it, though. However, unless it's ridiculously high they will likely just pay for wherever you want to take it and not bother with contesting it.
  21. Sigh...I'm back to reinforce my point in a slightly more mature manner. There have been plenty of one model only meets before. It's not my thing personally; I'm always a "more the merrier" person and actually find it boring as bat shit when there's just one model of car at a meet. The cars would have to be reeeeally special, and for me, 34Rs aren't that special. These vehicles aren't that rare if you can get 25 of them along to a meet. That being said, I don't care too much if other people think otherwise and want to do it - it's quite their prerogative to circle jerk over their model of car. But there's no denying the degree of segregation that this kind of stuff creates within our close community. So whilst I don't care too much what people do, it does make me a little sad to see when people don't want to mix/play with others around here. For those who do not think it has an element of elitism to it, well people only really do this "one model to rule them all" stuff when they think their car is something special, over and above the rest of the crowd. It's normal for models to group together at meets, but to not want any others there with them? There is a reason you don't see R33 GTS-T only events - it's not because we don't like our cars - we just know they aren't that special that we would want to group them away from other models for a photoshoot, and we like sharing our models with others. You don't see us snubbing the R32 N/As. Hence the lot of us are having a good laugh at the ridiculousness of people doing it with the 34Rs, as if there is this huge cultural gap between the different models of Skyline. Might as well have your own section on the forums. But it's not even really that that is the source of comedic gold here. It's the suggestion of hiring security. For what? Fear that others within the community are going to gatecrash and impose their vehicles on you, because another car meet is such a drawcard for random hooligans to mess up your fun/plans? Car communities aren't like that, especially not ours. We have member only meets in SAU Vic (as I'm sure all the paid membership clubs on here do) and we've never once had someone try to attend an event in their car that was advertised as members only. There's just no need to go to those lengths, hence this thread has been the butt of many a joke. People aren't that desperate to associate with other people who don't want them there. Hell, I doubt you'd actually get any spectators at all besides passengers, simply because it's a one model meet and the only time people are really into that is if they own the car themselves. The people trolling here have no intention or desire to attend, believe me. We just think it's utterly ridiculous and worthy of being payed out on to hire security for a car meet. I've never seen anything like that in the 12+ years I've been a part of various car clubs and communities. I don't think the supercar guys even bother with that and they would have much more to worry about with their vehicles and randoms in attendance. Nuff said and have fun with your meet.
  22. 200 for a single, but with bigger singles come more reps. 180 used to be my 1RM, but once I got to 190 I was able to do 180 x 2. Same deal will apply when I get to 210 and then it'll be reps of 200
  23. I'm guessing Paul Walker was his idol? Too soon?
  24. Always the first part to go lol
