Yeah they both mean a lot to me and are unfortunately very stealable GTS-T has already had two attempts made on it
-
I know what you mean. Any daily for me would have to be able to get to 100 in less than 7 seconds, or have some turbo diesel punch to 70-80km/h. Pretty much the plan. Though I suspect a bottom end bearing is waking itself up slowly, so the GTS-T may go into the workshop for preventative maintenance when the GTR is out. Will solve my storage problems short term...

Rego maintenance negated by new car depreciation of 5k a year? How enjoyed is the daily drive though? I think it ruins the weekend car - get in for a cruise and feel like you're driving to work lol Mind you I'm currently doing what you're doing, sans buying a new car, I just believe the other way to be superior if you got the space for it
-
This is what I'm doing now and it is one of the better cars to pick as an all rounder, but if I had the space I'd have an econobox auto daily for sure. Probably a Hyundai as their recent models are damn good value for money. When I had a 34 GT-T auto with stock suspension, it made me appreciate the 33 manual more on weekends and vice versa.
-
Nah...cheap daily pros: - Appreciate nice weekender more - Less f**ks given if it's stolen or smashed - Less depreciation from high mileage - Generally better fuel economy - No compromise made on the weekender which can have two doors and no tow bar - Auto daily, manual weekender All rounders compromise somewhere...in comfort or fun factor

15 tips should do it
-
All rounder cars are shit, but a necessary evil for people with only one car space. Daily and weekender is the way to go if you got a choice.

6 tips is excessive

About 50 buffets at the Langham

I've replaced one after 5-6 years of use which I can accept. Touchwood the second one is still going strong. I believe how the 040 is installed/mounted has more to do with longevity than E85 running through itself.
-
Never had to do this mod with the 040, though I've read about people doing it.

What pump are you running that the stock fuel pump wiring wasn't doing the job? Is the RB20 wiring different to the RB25?

Yeah this attempt was made 3 weeks ago too. Does not surprise me at all to hear that, nor does hearing about a car being stolen from any location in any suburb. Insurance is an absolute must. Just sucks mine is an excess of $1200 (that's TPF&T lol) just because the type of car it is, i.e. a Nissan Stolen. I take consolation in knowing the kind of people who steal cars are seldom successful in he greater scheme of life and tend to travel down a path that leads to death or misery. Sorry to hijack your thread.- 129 replies

Interesting...how long ago was this? Little cunts recently tried to steal my GTS-T from the work carpark in the south east. Broad daylight in front of our CCTV; they just don't give a f**k these days. Teenagers on school holidays or unemployed dropkicks with nothing better to do. At least the criminals of old were stealing for carparts to make money. These guys just do it for the thrill/joyride, dump it and/or burn it. They turned up in a stolen car and tried to push start my car using that one - morons didn't realise on the first go that this process doesn't work with an immobiliser and well hidden kill switch, so now I have a fked rear bumper and ignition barrel. They split when they failed at yet another thing in life, so at least my car didn't go far, but I find myself asking why amongst a plethora of medical bills draining my finances, I have to wear $1000 of vehicle damage because some drain on society wants a thrill in his day. Like with you, the police said they likely know who the perpetrators were, but even if they get an arrest out of it they will be let off easy because of our piss weak courts. And crims know this, which is why they continue to run rampant in Melbourne. I've suffered more punishment from the law for driving a modified vehicle than most of these real criminals ever will. Street justice is the only savior to the law abiding citizen. I was initially upset that the f**kwit who stole my motorbike killed himself speeding on it. But the police were never going to catch him otherwise and these peoples don't care what happens to you because of their actions. So f**k em...out of my world please.- 129 replies

That part is a given, I guess I was looking for a rational reason

Why is your economy so f**king bad?

Surprisingly got 12.2L/100km out of my 98 tune tonight. Enjoying the fuel savings vs 17-18L average of E85.
-
lol tried to find this as a desktop wallpaper for the old laptop I use strictly to switch tunes with PFC.
-
I can't back it up scientifically, but I feel like switching fuels periodically has to do some good. That being said, a couple times switching back to 98 I've wound up with cracked factory fuel hoses. It's interesting that it happens when switching to 98 as it's technically the ethanol that should be damaging them. My idle is definitely smoother on ethanol and the midrange is vastly superior...and when accelerating under boost. Cold, off boost or for immediate / low down torque, my 98 tune feels smoother and faster in some ways, however I think this could be fixed in the ethanol tune. Both tunes are years old and neither were touched up since original. Also think I have a leaking injector. Also think I have a bearing that slaps quietly only on startup. Old cars gon be old.
-
E85 used to be unquestionably worth the dollars even with same power levels, because it was cheaper or at least on par with 98 for running costs and the engine ran happier/safer on it Now only really worth it if you have a substantial increase in power and midrange from it, which you now pay for with the higher cost I usually switch to 98 in winter for easier starts and range

Mount it low and improve the balance! Saw a learner getting someone to help him get his 250 off the ground the other day. They really should teach learners how to do that by themselves at the course...
