  1. You forgot to DBAN the hard drive with 7 unnecessary passes
  2. On the open wheeler note https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Ariel-Atom-2004/SSE-AD-3899997 Why on earth would you need that much power...sounds awfully close to F1 kw/kg territory
  3. Anyone riding motorbikes should give very few f**ks about an ancap rating, unless they have kids, in which case probably shouldn't be riding motorbikes
  4. When did you turn 50
  5. Woah...that's a bloody hard hit And engine is healthy? Can you still start the thing?
  6. That's ridiculous, and that they even allude to some sort of warranty... One of the more surprising sleepers I've come across was a POS EL Wagon on the way to work, with a ladder strapped to his roof racks. Fluttering away, it gave me a pretty good run.
  7. At Barry's the other day and a customer had a VR Commodore he'd bought for $300 - saw the cash receipt for it. Thing was awesome for a runaround daily; so much car for the money. I mean, I remember when you used to get shitheap VK Commodores and Pintaras for $500 15 years ago, but they were proper pieces of shit. Could be 90s kid bias, but the 90s Commodores and Falcons were when Aussie cars started getting powerful 6 cylinder EFI engines, power steering / air con, ergonomic interiors with tons of space. My counterstrike knife skin is worth more... That being said, we once paid $1500 for a V8 Soarer and that is a lot of car / paperweight for your money (perspective).
  8. Bought parts off a guy who had an EA Falcon he bought for $700. He'd put a Chinese eBay turbo and manifold on it, no tune, just running low boost off the actuator as a burnout / pig with a welded diff. It actually went pretty well all things considered. I guess the logic is blown engine = buy another car and swap the bits over in a weekend.
  9. Buy when people are selling Sell when people are buying Some of the oldest and simplest trading advice but rarely do people follow it
  10. That was really more of a burgundy
  11. The search function on the forums is pretty awful. I think the guys here have just seen a few threads in their time from browsing, but these don't always show up in search reliably. First thing's first: suss out which one is playing up. Mine used to do it when idling, so I was able to pull the wiring loom from each one until the idle didn't get even lumpier, then I'd know which one was problematic. Then I tested that coilpacks in a different cylinder to rule out the wiring loom as an issue - the problem followed the coilpack. Once you've done that, check out the coil spring - it may be too short or not seating properly. Either buy a second hand OEM one to replace it in the meantime or contact Paul from Performance Wise - he was pretty good when I had coilpack issues and sent me one for free when I sent him back the faulty one. I ended up with another issue down the track though and I'd had them for 5 years so I figured it was time to update - went to splitfires and they haven't missed a beat I have to be honest. The YJs were good as a bargain for a few years, but long term not so sure. Time will tell if the splitfires are much better.
  12. Has been a long time coming and still will be, but never a question of if...only when
  13. Will be interesting to see the HKS dyno figure as that could at least isolate the lack of power to the tuner or old turbo. Those are supposed to make about 280rwkw on 98 I think?
  14. Rather lose a few grand than miss out on a hundred grand
  15. The G3 from memory is a laggy turbo (iirc people usually make full boost from 4300-4500 onwards). But they also make 300kw+ with it, so your power level was definitely down. Did they check engine comp etc.? I have a Blitz return flow and 3 inch turbo back and with my HG highflow I made 252rwkw at 15psi, full boost at ~3500rpm. So I would say there was something vastly wrong with the engine, turbo or setup. A bad tune can make things laggier for sure but it shouldn't be /that/ bad out of anyone who has half a clue what they are doing - untuned the turbo should be more responsive than that! It's a shame in a way you're not following up the turbo change with a tune at the same place as it will be difficult to compare a different tuner and hub dyno setup when it could have been the turbo that had issues. I understand dissatisfaction with service or attitude towards fixing issues though.
  16. this is why I wanted a metabox. Standardised chassis, pick your components and they set it all up for you. Then you know exactly what you're getting and can save money by removing shit you're never going to use... Like Bluetooth. This is the way Dell used to operate, to a degree I picked every component in my Inspiron 12 years ago...sound card, gpu, cpu, screen type, hdd size and speed, ram speed and size, bluetooth, wifi (when it was an option), minimal bloatware. Back in those days they gave you a myriad of options to choose from and it wasn't vastly more than the cost of building things yourself. I remember the equivalent spec laptop from HP/Lenovo/Acer was 3k+ and my Dell came in just over 2k.
  17. Shame you can't just build laptops like you can PCs...or can you?
  18. When you consider how much 88E has ramped up (50%) in just a couple of weeks based off fairly expected news announcements, you have to believe that with a joint venture or buy up deal on the table this thing would go from cents to dollars in a matter of days
  19. Everyone trading out 88E shares for superchargers now
  20. That didn't answer my question - how much you got in the share?
  21. Good...make or break. It's a spec stock. Sure there's money to be made in the interim, as I've proven, but the end game is on the horizon. How much do you have in this? Initial investment?
  22. I was trying to find a PM I had with the dude but no avail. I remember him asking if he could ask out my ex...seemed like an unnecessarily polite request from someone I didn't really know? Hard to believe someone like that is a wanted crim now?
  23. @krzysztof ? Dude looks like a cross between Patrick and Grant
