  1. Hey guys! My name is James, I'm an American living in Japan and I've been "forced" by my Japanese wife to only buy Skylines. My heart is heavy and broken, for sure. :)

    So, I went to look at a 25GT turbo today and while I was test driving it, I noticed that the slip light came on "easily". The road was dry, the weather pleasant and sunny. It was not on constantly, mind you. From what I've read, that indicates a problem with the coil packs. And I had the coilpack problem before on my 25GT.

    Anyway, I'm wondering if it's normally so sensitive and perhaps I just need some practice driving smoothly and slowly and perhaps some better tires... or does it indicate a problem.

    I'm pretty sure I was at... 3-4k rpm in second gear already traveling at perhaps 40 or 50kph... hard to remember now... and hit the throttle pretty hard. Would that normally create a, um..., slippery situation in this particular or am I looking at a bigger problem? Or perhaps I'm being finicky... It's easy to be so when it comes to buying a used car!

    I tried searching for TCS but I just get every topic that 666Dan has ever posted in :) I was just going to message him, but he logged off before I could finish registering!

    So I'm very sorry if I'm asking a repeat question, but I honestly tried my best. I even looked in other forums... but I've been reading this one for so long that I felt akin to it. I was in ghost mode.

    hi i do have the same problem on my GTT when driving on freeway. It slipped sometimes eventhough i'm driving straight forward~ have no ideas what prob with it, might be coilpacks~

  2. Does the front bumper support bar (nr. 7 in the first pic) fit the R34 GT-T headlights?

    Retainer-front bumper, upper, 62240AA400

    Is the distance between the headlights the same for the GT-T and GT-R?

    Should I be able to use this bar instead of the East-Bear Sports GTS-R spec 2 front bumper support bar?

    Yea the distance is the same. My mate has one on his GTT and it fits perfectly. I m going to order one for my GTT though. CHeers

  3. Hi Guys,

    I have a R34 GTT auto with 102,000km on the clock. Just did the 100,000km service with Bel garage about 2 months/2,000km ago.

    The car has been fine but today when i started it, the engine sounds very rough and struggles to rev plus the whole car is vibrating slightly. I didn't want to push it past 2000rpm.

    The Traction Control (TCS), Slip and Engine light are also on now.

    The car can drive and the gearbox seems fine - but I'm not driving it. boost also comes on like normal so i don't think it's the turbo.

    Could it be a loose connection or something serious...

    Oh.. the only mods is a pod filter and exhuast.

    hey i got the same problem as u. the lights keep showing up and the engine seem rough n struggles to rev. loud noise come from engine n so scary. i guess it should be coilpacks problem. how's ur going?

  4. rewired what exactly? i cant think of anything needing re wiring to fix a break down on a 34. what was the cause of the breakdown...

    because my mate's car got smashed at the front and cause has not spark to start up his car. When he turned on the car the engine just cranking and no spark to start it. Therefore the mechanic rewire sth to make it start. Perhaps i should get him to talk to mechanic.

  5. hi guys, my tcs switch doesn't work, when i press the switch it doesn't turn off the TCS.

    I just got my car back from mechanic as my car couldn't start guess some sensor broke down. The mechanic rewire sth so it could start but then when i push the TCS button the TSC OFF light is not showing up on the dash. I wonder what's wrong with it.

    Also, i got this TCS off , SLIP and Engine warning light on and the engine seem to crank and keep misfiring. But when i turn off the car and start again they gone again. I wonder what's the problem? Is sth wrong with the coilpack? as i feel the engine cranks so much n keep misfiring when those light on.

    Need advise from everyone. THanks!

  6. GTT smic will support 200- 220AWKW. Get a boost guage!!!I would spend the money on 1. Split dump 3in front pipe 2. Nistune chip for your ecu 3. electronic boost controller 4. better fuel pump...next stage bigger highflow/turbo... next stage even more boost,bigger injectors fmic. (Actual power at each stage will depend on quality of tune - you need Nistune chip or aftermarket ecu e.g. Vipec).

    i see.. where can i can a Nistune chip and how much is it approximately?

  7. My post still stands... dont just assume its one part - do some investigation - or preferrably take it to someone who can show you and/or check the car (mechanic or otherwise)

    Did you dyno before/after?

    Have you dyno'd at all to check?

    How much boost?

    Have you checked the usual things like plugs, AFM, CAS timing and so on?

    erm.. i didnt put on dyno as the guy at RE Customs asked me to change coil pack first before they remap my ecu and put on dyno.. i did my car service there last monday so i think it should be fine as they did overall check during the service.. i'd changed the plugs..

    i reckon i gonna save up for the coil packs and change them during the next service and put on dyno and see how it goes.. i wonder if yellow jacket coil packs are good?

    there's some problem when i rev around 2500rpm when the boost & suction noise bout to build and i will hear premature air surge from pod filter and i wonder if it's a leak?
