The conclusion I reached from that documentary was that the conterfeit trade exists b/c certain brands are ripping the consumer off. So 'company X' makes handbags worth 1000pnds. This company has them made in China for very cheap. The counterfeit trade then copy the design of the handbag and sell it to the consumer at the cost it actually should be sold at. Company X still does not complain, b/c it is still making a motsa from its severly over-inflated markup. Consumers continue buying the brand named product b/c its part of human nature to 'show-off'. So my conclusion is that everyone should buy counterfeit products as long as it is safe. Competition brings down prices, so these handbags, condoms, addidas products, medicines, eggs etc., can become affordable. If the genuine item (which is still made in China) is affordable then there is no need for 'copies'.

will the auto (7 spd) and manual transmissions being used on the 370z also be avaiable in an updated skyline? i like the 370z but its impractical, so an equivalent skyline would be choice.

there are a lot of cars that are a step up from the R33 Gts25t. i went from one into a 03 wrx (though heavily modded). I like the V35s, but will be waiting for the 370z

they will continue to come down here. Almost every seller on carsales has decreased their asking price. the R34 GTR has a very small and specific market. People are holding onto their money and as a result housing, new cars, retail items have dropped or are being discounted.

It still runs the standard intercooler, airbox and plenum. The things you think need changing, actually dont need to be. Great car.

Ive never purchased a new expensive sports car from a dealer before, but do porsche, amg, bmw etc also present the buyer with this type of dealership agreement?

I am also looking for an R34 GTR. A few I like are interstate and are modified which I prefer. I would take the car you selelct to a mechanic that services/ modifies a lot of GTRs. i would ask them to go over everything anally. Ask them to give you a qoute on what they say needs changing.

for the 1st show I think they did very well. They would have expected 95% of people with little minds would say 'its just like the UK top gear' and would have critised everything from the comedy, to the driving and so on. Give the entire crew and cast a chance to mould themselves. The main two have very high credentials in the car industry and would destroy everyone on this forum in driving skills. I feel we are lucky SBS have put the money into producing this for our viewing.

yes the 135i/ 335i engine is better than the rb26 in std form. It is easy to tell this from the figures- its black and white. How they are modified I dont know, but I doubt they would come close to the rb26. I know the 135i is not an M3. the person I qouted from had mentioned them as being boring to drive, so thats why I made the comparison. Most tests find that the 3L tt from the 135i is only 1/2sec off the pace of a V8 M3 down the qtr, so it cant be too bad.

A lot of reviews find that a std r34 GTR is slow and does not live up to expectation and tramlines all over the place. the 135i and 335i on paper have a better engine than the rb26. 400nm from around 2500rpm (GTR is around 4000rpm), 3L TT, 225kw at a lower rpm than the gtr. the 135i also has better brakes std, is lighter, but with the same wheel base as the gtr.

a rotary is an exception. The Fg 310 seems to be pretty good car though.
