    Buyer Beware

Damn Al how many black cats have you run over recently? Sorry to hear about the dramas and hope it doesn't end up costing you too much....would there be any point in contacting the rim manufacturer considering the rim hasn't actually been damaged and therefore could be a manufacturing fault?
  5. Oh wells....was sent to Charles on 23 Aug. Do you have it now or do you want me to send it to you? As for feedback....good layout and love the clickable forward/back etc buttons. Content is great...except for the above
  6. Awesome newsletter guys Quick question though...what happened to the article I was asked to write and submitted to Charles89 about the Haunted Hills M/sport round?? Mayb my writing skilz didn't make the kut ....
  7. Congrats to the winners
  8. Put me down for my usual answer
  9. LOL I had a feeling you might have all the answers mate
  10. Agreed I think the twilight round is the way to go....lets be honest Calder isn't a stand out layout but the added twilight factor def gives it an edge
  11. Thanks Baron and you are spot on re the firepower - last dynoed between 270-280 rwkw at Racepace (have to dig out the print to be sure) mid year. Entry list doesn't specify year of cup car so would have to check photos to work out the year - at the end of the day I'm just happy to put in a faster time than a cup car on slicks even if it is just driver related As for the zed, a quick internet search has rumours of the 6.6litre V8 under the hood being an ex nascar engine pumping out around 700hp
  12. Top work Dane and the car looks the goods! Sorry to hear about the incident on the test day - stuff like that is enough to dent anyones confidence. Conversation with the radical driver at PI went something like this: Me: "So what speeds does it get upto on the straight?" Radical Pilot: "Oh around the 260 mark" Me: "Really......my R get upto that and more with a bit of fettling" Radical Pilot: "Yeah we hit 260 and then turn into turn 1....no brakes" Me: "Holy sh.... how much is one of these again?"
  13. Sorry to hear that the 180 is on its way Dane but bring on the Radical. After seeing them at PI a few weeks ago at the PIARC day I know what you are in for
  14. Might as well post some of my in car from PI a few weeks ago.... First is my new PB lap....the fist pump at the start finish line at the start of the lap was when I saw a high 47 flash up on my previous lap and this is a collection of some overtaking. First part is me trying to overtake a big single turbo R34 down the straight only to be passed like I was standing still by a 6.6ltr V8 powered 260Z ....middle part is me catching and passing a GT3 cup car and last part is an ex(?)-V8 supercar - we came out of the last corner side by side only for him to pull away down the straight using ubber killerwasps. Two corners later his lead disppeared thanks to corner speed and I was able to overtake. Enjoy
  15. Thanks for the kind words guys. I'd say that the vids make my driving look smoother than it felt in a few places! My biggest issues on the day were pulling the car up for Honda as I had the ABS kick in a few times and balancing the power around the 2nd last corner. Given my times on the day I'd say that the car is capable of a high 46 on a perfect lap. Even with the stocky suspension I have been taking turn 3 flat, but since the suspn upgrades the car has felt stable enough to take hayshed flat too. This stability allowed me to make gains (by seat of the pants feel anyway!) around most of the corners but in particular I'd say Southern loop and lukie heights were by the biggest margins. I would love a copy of your 46 lap Jack as it would interesting to compare, despite our firepower differences ....is it available on youtube?
  16. Ok in car vids are up.... 17. Has the committee received confirmation of final results for all rounds yet?

    Trackdays

No question they are a great tyre able to put out quick times....however on a heavy car like the R (well my car in particular!) they tend to only give 2 or so hot laps before getting too hot and sliding around. I've found the RE55 is far more consistant over a 5 lap sprint than the A050 at tracks like Sandown and PI.

    Trackdays

Come one BB and Snowie if I can do it with my thing surely you two can get your things up there To the best of my knowledge the only full noise days are PIARC, V8's and bikes any other track day has the usual restrictions including this one. 90db measured at the side of the track (I think 3m away from the track itself but I could be wrong).
  20. +1

    Trackdays

And after last weekend you have a new target to aim for
  22. Actually what I think you are there for is to smash my obviously ill conceived ideas about how fast a gtst can lap a circuit

  24. What an awesome day! The forecast all week was not looking good for the weekend and certainly Sat lived up to the hype. However Sun proved to be pretty good weather for racing at PI. After a day of mixing it up with slick shod GT3 cup cars, ex V8 supercars and pretty much any other car you can think of, I ended up with a new PB of 1:47.14 besting my previous by around 2.5 secs. To say I'm wrapped would be an understatement as my goal for the day was to get into the 47's let alone a low 47. Big thanks to Russ - without us trading times and having a ding dong battle via the timing sheets all day I probably wouldn't have pushed as hard as I was. Despite a small group from SAU which is the norm these days at track events it is a good indicator of the depth of driver talent when every class we were put in (rightly or wrongly ) has an SAU member at the top of the tree - congrats to all and once again an amazing effort by Russ Dane - where were you? I would've thought with some Radicals on track you would've been there for sure. That was no ordinary Z...put it this was the model badge at the back said 600Z instead of 260Z giving us a clue - passed me on the straight like I was standing still Incar vids to follow later in the week.....
  25. Happy Birthday mate
