  2. Hey mate long time no hear! Thanks for the comments.
  3. Ok some of my in car is up on youtube. First up is my fastest lap in the last session of the day.... Next I have uploaded the whole last session when Russ and I were pushing each other to get PB's. Managed to get two 1:35 laps in before the rears packed up and went home - as Russ can attest to the middle of the rears were bald. The 'unintentional' drifing starts around the 4:50mark.... Finally, the off....quite clear what happened, was in 4th at around 170km/h (indicated by the speedo) hit the ripple strip on the inside which upset the grip and sent me understeering off the track. Naturally being in 4th I didn't have the responsive boost to pull me out of it and I was just a passenger. Russ was the car that went past after the white Emo soon after I *eventually* came to a stop.... Enjoy
  4. Yep more to come when I post up my in-car footage but well done to all the PB's My new PB 1:35.33....don't know if the lap time list hasn't been updated for a while but that puts me just in front of Scotsman Big well done to Russ for posting an awesome time. Depending on size I will try and post up that whole session - made for some interesting watching, namely the fact that my semis gave up after posting two 1.35 laps and I ended up drifting the circuit plus the fact that Russ's car and mine are very close in outright pace. Looking at the last corner onto the front straight, given an equal exit speed both Russ and I are matching one another down the straight...he doesn't pull away and I don't gain. Interesting considering the power/weight differences. Given enough bribes I *might* even post up my big off 1/2 way through the day - made sense when I watched the footage as I ran over the inside ripple strip on the sweeper while in 4th and basically after that I was a passenger....oh the mud or should I say clay!!! Anyway I have GP quali to watch so I'll try post up footage 2morrow.
  5. Lol this is starting to sound like a Micolour preaching thread but there is a reason for that another +1 for Micolour and I couldn't agree more with this comment:
  6. Bump Whiteline KCA347 R33/R34 GTR rear camber kit (upper control arm) with +/- 0.75deg of adjustment now $120+postage
  7. Thanks for the update...last time I used them was a while ago so its news to me.
  8. Rank Rotory in Moorabbin...tuned my old R33 gtst
  9. HKS coilovers SOLD to the guy with the immaculate white 97 GTR Whiteline Camber Kit still available
  10. Hey Russ, Count me in for a bed on the fri night if you have the room.
  11. My car is basically a weekend toy and even then I don't get to drive it every weekend. When not driven the car sits on concrete and this can be for a couple of weeks. Considering there has been no oil puddle under the shocks plus the fact I gave them a good once over when removed from the car, there is def no oil leak. As for any knocking, when my car does get used it usually involves a few bumps (like track ripples lol) and I have never heard them knock on the road or track. As for the feel....well we aren't talking about stock suspension here but they aren't rock hard jap shocks either. I'm no suspension expert but it felt like they absorbed what aussie roads threw at them without the tyre leaving the ground or the bounce afterward. I am happy for anyone to come have a look at them if they wish.
  12. Bump <-you know the things these coilovers do a good job of absorbing
  13. Hi Guys, I recently had these HKS coilovers removed from my R33 GTR due to an upgrade. They are excellent coilovers and in great condition - never been in an accident, no leaks and rubber boots are like new. They were capable enough to keep the R stuck to the road for a 1:49 lap of Phillip Island. As they were on the car when I bought it I can't give an accurate km's of use but I'd put an educated guess at the 20,000 mark. $1,000 (would prefer Melb pickup due to size but if you are willing to pay postage am happy to send interstate) I also have a Whiteline KCA347 R33/R34 GTR rear camber kit (upper control arm) with +/- 0.75deg of adjustment as seen here: Whiteline Site Brand new, never opened and selling due to a change in suspension approach. $140 (happy to post or pick up) Cheers, Anthony.
  14. Sent a PM but whats the plan for travelling there.....head up on the fri night and coming back straight after the event?
  15. Okay just finished my incar... Unfort my PB lap wasn't captured due to the camera running out of batteries but I did catch my second fastest lap... Also uploaded footage from a wet lap - not fast but passing Mick (Micolour) sideways at 1:27
  16. +1 for the above I had a stateroads inspection done on the wifes car before purchase....can't remember the exact amount but wasn't over $250. Very happy with the detailed inspection and would highly recommend.
  17. Not sure how much research you have done on tracking your skyline but one of the most common peace of mind upgrades is to swap that ceramic wheel with a steel item. Too much excess heat from track work causes the ceramic wheel to fall apart and this is what happened to my old gtst turbo back in the day. I am not saying that your turbo has been damaged in anyway but if the noise continues I would def get it checked out by someone in the know.
  18. The first couple of track days after fitting the can I checked and found a dribble of oil. After that I don't really bother to check and drain it at the end of the day - most I've found is aorund the 200ml mark or so. You can also get the can to drain back to the sump if you are worried about the amount of oil collecting in the can. As for your turbo, doesn't sound too good.....is it a steel wheeled turbo or still the stock ceramic item?
  19. Def need a catch can. The first time I did Sandown in the GTR with no catch can I had so much oil going through the inlet system that it was coming out of the blow off valves and leaking onto the front right tyre!! Not good for grip Fitted a catch can and never had that problem again. Also if you are going to be doing regular track days fit an oil cooler.
  20. Ok guys the wrx club has posted some pics here http://s49.photobucket.com/albums/f265/wat...270610/ ....love the Lambo One of the fav of my car has to be...
  21. Lol don't forget the water in the downhill braking area for dandy corner....I won't forget going for the anchors, and stepping sideways in THAT area for a while At least it gave me a good line for the exist of that corner
  22. I know you have said it was aligned twice but was this done by a laser or by string line?
  23. First up big thanks to the organizers and volunteers despite a few incidents the day ran smoothly. I started the day hoping I could match my previous PB of 1:24.6 based on the fact I had to learn to drive the car again due to some new suspn bits, and ended the day with a new PB of 1:23.8 When we turned up the track was still very wet with lots of standing water and by the end of the day the track was dry except for dandy rd corner and the last turn onto the straight. Even in the wet the car had awesome front end grip and the rear was very controllable which gave me confidence to push. By the time the track had a dryish line I had already equalled my previous PB and kept pushing until the end of the day resulting in two laps in the 1.23's. Considering the state of my semis + the mistakes I made during those two laps I have no doubt the car is capable of another sec or two. Big thanks to Racepace for knowing what to do to turn my car from one that refused to turn into a corner, to one that whats to turn in a straight line!!
