  1. Congrats on the results Guys
  2. Shumi comments on his return LOL http://www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,3262_5874565,00.html
  3. Some pics.... Not sure that wearing the SAU motorsport jacket was the best choice at Pearl Harbour ..... Sunset Beach ....... View looking at Wakki Beach from Diamond Head......... View looking the other way from Diamond Head...... And this is what you are missing on the Big Island (Kilauea) ......
  4. Gday Jarrod....was there last March and thought it was fantastic. Nothing wrong with the Hilton Village...has all the facilities and fairly close to the beach. Highly recommend a hire car to get you around. Do the hike up Diamond Head and go visit the north shore and sunset beach - just watch the shore break! Pearl Harbour is worth a trip - just give Pearl City a miss. Are you only staying on Oahu or going island hopping? Reason I ask is that we went to the Big Island, and hiked around a few active volcano's - was awesome!
  5. Spotted black Aston Martin DB9 parked like a commoner along Greville St Prahan Fri last week about 2pm.
  6. Agree with the above. I'm a firm believer that smooth driving is the best way to yield time on a track. That being said as I got faster at a place like PI, the car steps into an 'oversteery' stance around a few corners as I feathered the throttle and re-applied. I also think that the fact I now trail brake into two of the corners allowed me to get under the 1:50 mark. Not only are you saving time in the braking zone but as I get off of the brakes the car steps out a little before getting back onto the gas which helps tighten the line and maintain speed.
  7. This was a terrible tragedy for the victims families......no question....but I do find it hard to feel sorry for the victims themselves. Driver was drunk AND speeding in an urban area filled with road furniture. Passengers willingly got into an unregistered car with a drunk driver and not every passenger had a seatbelt. Any way you look at it this accident was waiting to happen. Can only hope that a few people learn the lessons from this.
  8. LOL Neil you won't find a more fastidious (spelling?!?) GTR owner who tracks it anywhere...just ask Mick from Micolour The jerry can doesn't go DIRECTLY on the boot without a suitable layer (or two) of cotton or microfibre. I can assure you that the paint hasn't been marked once.
  9. I had the same problem.....best investment I made was a marine grade jiggler hose available at boating shops. Simply put the jerry can on the boot, one end of hose in the fuel filler - other end in the jerry and it practically fills itself
  10. You are correct paul. As for my vspec diff, it seems to work great both on the road and on the track....too be honest if I'm cornering hard enough to loose grip in the R the last thing I'm looking at is the dash so I can't really say how often the slip light comes on. It seems the only time they suck is when they are being modified or they break.
  11. HAHAHA......Ben makes a good point there
  12. Nothing in the interior is different btw the vspec and non-vspec.... this man speaks the truth.
  13. Damn the SAU 09 calender had pride of place in our kitchen....no SAU 2010 calender means it'll prob be replaced with some BS anne geddes one or some sh1t Oh well it happens, but if you can see that times running short post a thread asking for help as the committee have done for other things...and yes I am aware of how many responses you get for the requests for help but you never know.
  14. I'm with Al on this one....had the clutch in my car for around a year and never heard a rattle.
  15. I bought two 1/2 decent 20L plastic jobbies from *i think* repco that I carry to track days. They have a little rubber oring on the cap and never leak even when full lying down in my boot. So far they have lasted 5 years. As long as the actual cap thread isn't the issue I suppose you could always get an oring to seal the cap and can.
  16. read the 'christmas eve car troubles' thread in this section and then work out if you want to garage your car or not
  17. +1 for the Nismo Coppermix Twin. I have the non competition one in my GTR and has stood up to plenty of abuse despite having a stock feel to the clutch pedal.
  18. I have had an RE55 repaired then tested at over 200kmh at PI. In my case the tyre was almost new and I couldn't bear to throw it away....had it been older I probably would've thrown it due to the reasons Dunc mentions above. I don't have an issue with it but be aware that there is a possibility (however slight) that the tyre will let go.

  22. Don't forget about the window seal as well.....either get a new one from Nissan (inside and out) or be very careful about how the old one is removed and replaced
  23. That is a bad example....if you buy an H2 you arent going 4wd nor are you safer
  24. Nice lap stu.....looks like one of my in car vids at the island... ...sped up by 1.5x times
