  2. Happy B'day guys and gals
  3. Hahaha Top work James....it *almost* fits in with the other cars you have in the garage
  4. Congrats to all the SAU guys....some pretty impressive times considering the conditions As for me....well I found out just what Scotsman told me about well worn semis and standing water Was impossible for me to put any power down or carry speed around a corner in all sessions except for the one just after lunch. The fact that I had an inexpensive lesson learnt in the first session didn't help my confidence either Anyway time for newer semis and to look forward to the next one
  5. Snowie a couple of jap tuners now make a kit for them....I believe MCR is one of them. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/MC...it-t225405.html

  7. Happy B'day guys
  8. Danny, If I was in your shoes and at risk of loosing my licence over this (the fact that you don't have the best history may work against you), I'd take it to court get up and tell the court that I haven't done an advanced driving course in my truck and therefore have no idea how the truck would react in a heavy braking situation. As such, when I was approaching this set of lights and it turned yellow, knowing/judging that I would safely cross the intersection under the yellow light, I made the decision to drive through it to avoid a potential brake lock up and possible accident. The policeman could argue that in his/her opinion the truck could've stopped but I'm sure that when asked how much experience he had of driving this kind of vehicle, his/her answer would leave the magistrate/judge with only one way to view this case. Please note that I am not a lawyer or anything related to such this, I am just viewing this from a logical.driving point of view and we should all know that law and logical don't usually end up in the same sentence
  9. Lol Saff....much easier to fill up on 98 grab a bottle of Martini booster, mix well and hey presto 100ron fuel
  10. Actually not too busy....I pulled the missus aside and said 'see that skyline that went past....max just bought one of those'
  11. Done.... ...and I don't want to see those pics of you in lingerie and high heels either
  12. Lol brett you don't need to quote the road rule book to me and I'm not arguing with the "yellow means stop unless you are unable to do so safely". What I'm saying is that the yellow light is timed to allow for the above. *Usually* a cop will only issue a fine for the above is if you have sped up for the yellow as it is obvious that you should've stopped. I will repeat...it is not ILLEGAL to cross an intersection on a yellow light if in your opinion you were not able to stop safely.
  13. Yep...mates have bought a house on Glen Eira and we were going to check it out...in the car or out with kids in tow?
  14. Interesting mate...scotsman was telling me that you have had troubles with the consistancy of the United product....is this true?
  15. Yep Hahaha that would probably be me....I've never seen another SAU vest so must be Feel free to introduce yourself if you spot me again....
  16. Sorry to dig up an old thread For those not at the meeting....very quick rundown.... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sh...40#entry4081391
  17. Poor tech bloke from Shell got hammered by us Anyway can't be a$$ed writing it again...but something to think about.... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sh...40#entry4081391
  18. Sorry to dig up an old thread but we had the SAU Vic meeting last night with reps from Shell in attendance. The bottom line is that the almighty $ has won and that it isn't viable for Shell to continue making it. In rough terms, 1% of the product that comes out of the refinery can be used to make Vpower and 1% of that can be used to make Vpower Racing. It then cost Shell 3 times as much to turn that into Vpower racing than to produce Vpower. Despite the fact that 80% of people at the meeting have their car tuned for Vpower racing we are a minority of a minority and that combined with the tiny percentage of the market means that VPR is an easy target. It is also interesting to note that partially due to Shell discontinuing this fuel they have lost the V8 supercar fuel sponsorship. I understand all of the above and it does make sense from a business point of view to cull this fuel. I do however want to raise a point that hasn't been raised in this thread (I think) and its one I want Shell to heed....In the future as petrol becomes scarce (and more expensive) and transport starts to run on alternative fuels, the potential is that those people who raised their hands in the meeting who run their cars on VPR (the minority of a minority) will probably be the only people who run a conventional petrol powered car. This decision to remove a world class, top rate fuel will remain in our minds for a long time.
  19. Actually mean R34 is correct...legally and as per the rules. As long as you don't SPEED UP to run the amber there is no problem with driving through an amber light. The light sequence timing isn't a coincidence....the amber light stays amber long enough to allow a car travelling at or just below the speed limit enough time to cross the intersection from a pre-determined distance away. This timing and 'set distance' is worked out using various factors (such as reaction time, enviroment) to allow for both a safe stop and a safe crossing of the intersection before the red.
  20. Sorry to hear esp considering the car was in your driveway. Compared to thefts there are very few random attacks of vandalism on a car...sure you get the keying's but most are thefts. The thing is that someone who is looking to steal something from a car will rarely do so unless they look in and can see stuff that they are after. The facts are that they aren't going to risk getting caught because they *might* find something and secondly if your car isn't an easy target then there are plenty of others around with wallets/laptops/cash/nav mans etc in plain sight. Simple...don't leave wallets/cash/anything worth $ in your car and you will reduce the chance of your car being broken into.
  21. Guys in melb have had good experience with the Nismo and Cusco items.
  22. I suppose I better come to this considering I 1/2 organized the speaker Will get the leave pass signed
  23. Happy B'day Juz....enjoy your celebrations
  24. Ok mate if you need me to chase them up I can make a few calls
  25. I've caught PT to work for ages due to not having a car spot for the R....the good points are that it gets me to where I need to go and it is cheap. The bad news is that trains get cancelled/delayed (esp relevant if you are trying to make another train/bus or whatever) and trains in peak hour are so packed that you might have to let a couple go before you can get on. Overall the system is way more extensive than say sydney and you can pretty much get everywhere you need to go, but don't expect german/japanese timekeeping
