Sorry to hear about your dramas at Sandown but I'm sure she'll be back with a vengence
  2. *puts hand up for collins st* although I'm kinda down the other end in the 1/2 evil building.....333 collins
  3. +1 for inconel studs....not sure if the OEM ones are (I'd suggest not). I had the same problem with my GTR...did a few track days and the exhaust studs stretched due to heat. Replaced them with inconel ones and not a problem since....cost a few $$ though.
  4. Nice one Damian ps you still owe me the pics from my last detail
  5. I managed to cook the oil in mine after a drive in the hills on a summers day. If you are only using the car for 1/4 mile action or a short drive every now and again I wouldn't bother. If you plan on doing track days or some extended spirited driving I'd recommend you get one.
  6. +1 for the open ended rays daytona nuts
  7. Good shots mate..... +1 for ryans
  8. Great to see the boys keeping the rexys honest although sorry to see people had dramas. Those times do seem a little slower but congrats to those who put in a PB.....and great work Russ for your 1:28
  9. G'day mate and welcome...Check the events section for meetups etc. Quite a few gtrs normally turn up to cruises and meets so if you are after a ride in one you can ask an owner who posts that they are turning up. As for the above....xenons, passenger/driver airbag were standard in the series 3 R33 gtrs and of course all R34 gtrs. As for cruise control thats a no (pretty hard to get cruise control in a manual and all gtrs are manual). Also AFAIK no sunroofs were available in a GTR. As for what to look for.....importing is a bit of a mine field as you don't know the history of the car and cannot get it inspected prior to purchase. Much easier to buy one in Oz and you can take it to a respected workshop such as racepace for a look over prior to purchase. As long as it has been looked after by previous owners...regular oil changes, quality mods and maintenance etc you can't go wrong keeping in mind they are well over the 10+ year mark.
  10. Very nice...normally rexy's don't appeal to me but the pumped guards on this model do it for me Prob why I've always liked the 22b too....
  11. Seems a fair few people are misinformed about the ADR's relating to this stuff. Ok they can be illegal in a couple of ways...the first is as per others have mentioned above...any cutting or modification of the support frame underneath is illegal. What no-one has mentioned is the fact that ANY hole/vent in the bonnet that faces the windscreen (meshed or not) is illegal. If you have a look at the earlier evos and wrx's that had holes in the bonnet (not the intercooler vents that face forward) they are actually blocked off.
  12. Sure its possible.....but its also illegal so keep that in mind if you worried about legality.
  13. Spotted a silver Maser Gran Turismo on glenhuntly rd Caulfield yesterday around 11am...very nice
  14. Congrats Jack...welcome to the club
  15. Hahaha...She-Ra waz teh hotness
  16. Lol....there were only 3.....raiders of the lost ark (1981), temple of doom (1984) and the last crusade (1989)
  17. I have always liked the TVRs as they have always been a raw sports car with entertaining (read oversteer ) handling, good power and great sound. The speed 12 is just off tap! Not to put a downer on your dreams there mate but to my knowledge you can't actually get one on the road here in Vic due to some BS reason that they don't have a collapsable steering column Not sure if this applies to a personal import though...
  18. Russ...The harness belts that go over your shoulder have to be between 0 and a 45deg angle (best is horizontal...or close too).....the reason being that in the event of a stack the belts don't get pulled tighter and crush your spine. The std rear seat mounting points are close to this 45deg max angle and therefore if you have the option mount it to a harness bar (mounted between the rear susp towers) or attach to a roll cage. As long as your std front tow hook is accessible there is no need for a front tow hook to be fitted...just make sure you know where it is so you can point it out to any rescue (also keep in mind that your car might be a little bogged when checking out the std tow hook posi)
  19. Great pics mate
  20. Like Saff I grew up in the UK and can tell you that the licence test is far harder to pass than the tests here. For a start emergency braking is part of the test and as such you get taught how to do it. If the gov't was serious about reducing the road toll instead of this draconian view that 'speed kills' they should focus on education. Those in the club old enough (hehehe) to remember the talk we had from john bowe will remember that a group of V8 supercar drivers approached the gov't with suggestions that everyone does a driver training course as part of their licence...the response was two fold.....it costs too much and they didn't want young drivers doing a driver training course because they would think that they were invincible. WTF how much is a persons life worth and secondly young drivers already think that they are invincible....I did a course many years ago and it proved exactly the opposite. Unfortunately no amount of education will stop the out and out idiots on the road (drink drivers etc) but IMO it will go a long way to improve driving standards and ultimately reduce the road toll.
  21. Without question take it to Racepace.... If they are flat out and can't fit it in take it to RE customs. Bottom line if the seller wants to sell the car they should take it where ever you want the test done.
  22. Great work guys....top results and as usual you've flown the SAUVIC flag high
  23. Great work pete.....and lol at Snowie and Blaise doing exactly the same time at the cafe
