  2. Cheers Archie....lol at the use of a puncture repair kit I've got a puncture repair kit for my push bike....maybe I'll give that a go
  3. Hey guys, Went for a drive over the weekend only to find a self tapping screw/bolt stuck in my RE55 IMO it looks to be repairable as it is nowhere near the shoulder of the tyre. I remember reading about Aaron (R34GTR) getting one puncture repaired but he never mentioned where he got it done. Would you trust your local bob jane to repair such a tyre that reg sees mid 200kmh on a track or should I take it elsewhere? Cheers Ant
  4. Happy birthday champ......I imagine the first time you read this will be wed when you wake up after Sat
  5. Like I said, not sure of any details past what I wrote but I have it on very good authority from someone who was there that the very car was unveiled in front of them...so I'd take it that it is no rumour
  6. I've just heard a very interesting bit of news that has me cracking 1/2 a fat Apparently Aston has been developing a car in secrecy over the past 2 years or so that was unveiled to a very select group of people this week.....and they have been given strict intrustions to keep things quiet so don't expect details anytime soon. All I can say is that its small, powered by 12 cylinders and is the quickest car Aston has ever produced. Could this be the Porsche beater that the Vantage didn't quite live up to be??
  7. As far as I know every mobile camera location has to be 'approved' as the setup needs to be right for the fines to be legal. You could probably take it up with someone but I couldn't imagine it would get too far so I would go with troy or james idea Its kinda like that time in the streets I used to park for work....I got done by a parking inspector a couple of times for being over the time by like 5 mins...naturally I had a bit of resentment towards them and one day I had to leave early....what do I find on the walk to my car but the parking inspectors car parked HALFWAY over someones driveway. I thought this couldn't be legal so I called the council to complain pretending to be the home owner I chuckle everytime I think about it but the chances are that the bloke never got repremanded let alone a ticket
  8. Happy b'day funky
  9. There are so many ideas in this thread I don't know where to start.... I'm all for keeping it simple.....I think have an open and street class with both safety (cage, seat, harness) and tyres free, and under each have a fwd, rwd, awd class. The determining factors that put you in open or street should be exterior panels (minus front bar, rear bar and wing) and stripped interiors. To go further than that you could start looking at things like fuel systems, brakes etc which sort the higher hp cars from the rest.
  10. Was a great day and perfect weather for it! Good to catch up with everyone again and I must say the overall quality of cars in the club is getting better and better. Thanks to everyone who organized the day and chris for slaving behind the BBQ Also I think this would be the first SAU vic event on a sunny day that I didn't see Mav sunburnt by the end of it
  11. Ahahaha...It looks like the elf look suits you Chris Top work
  12. Awesome effort guys ....you have really done us proud and all that hard work had paid off Great pics baron and I look forward to seeing some more
  13. Sorry the turbo R33 doesn't meet the power to weight rule....only turbo R32's did. Besides isn't the rule now that a P plater isn't allowed to drive any turbo or V8 car?? I'd check the vicroads websites for the latest rules and regs....
  14. Not bad....except I don't like the fact it blocks the oil filler and coils/spark plugs.
  15. There are some top pics in that Sarah
  16. As far as my understanding goes the officer don't actually need to sight any infringement. All they need is a suspicion that something isn't legal....they fill out and EPA report and its upto the EPA to check the car out. I'd imagine that you are going to be sent to Mcleod if you say that you cannot remove the kick panel.
  17. Ok update time... An assessor from the insurance comp came and looked at my car....took 5 secs to look at it and agreed that the job wasn't done correctly and that the seal need replacing. He calls the windscreen mob who say that they need to order the seal through Nissan and that they will have to get it from Japan...I am looking at at least a 4 week wait for the repair. He then calls me with this news......I respond by telling him to tell the windscreen to GF'd (or words to that effect) as I spoke to the local Nissan dealer who told me a couple of days ago that the part is in stock at their warehouse and would take 1/2 a day to get to the dealer after it is ordered! I am waiting to hear back..... ....sometimes it really is worth doing some research yourself

    Flooded

Sorry to hear about everyones dramas....I was at work in the city and it really didn't seem to rain THAT hard. Always a good idea, esp if you have a house at the bottom of a slope, to routinely clean out your drainage around your property as usually the only time you find out they are blocked is when it floods!
  19. gday mate, I got a tow hook mounted to the factory one at the rear...perfectly legal as it is tucked away under the car. The front is a bit more of an issue as anything sticking out the front of the car is deemed a hazard to pedestrians. Maybe get one attached to the chassis under the car at the front or look at getting those flexible rope style ones that the porsche cup cars use.
  20. Even better in that mag JC jumps into a F430 Scuderia and the Stig 'tries' to catch him in the new GTR... ..can't wait for it to hit our shores (the mag that is ) so I can have a read.
  21. That mustang was a competitor in the Vic Dutton Rally that Snowie took out. Spotted red (no really ) rag top F430 parked along Centre Rd Benleigh last night around 6:30pm.
  22. Who would've thought that replacing a windscreen would be so hard?
  23. Well I'm not sure about the rear seals but I called Nissan (brighton) about the front ones and the outer one they have in stock but the inner one they have to order fron Japan. There is always the option of getting a windscreen repairer to replace the seal with an aftermarket one as well. They might look a little diff from stock but they aren't too bad -a good example is Snowies car. Anyway I will update when I get this sorted...
  24. I did this very thing on my gtst. I had one of the rad hoses let go and figured they were all the same age and didn't want a coolant hose to keep leaking every second week. I simply went to nissan (brighton here in Melb) and said I want every coolant hose replaced....they did all the hard work sourcing the hoses (no kit, although some hoses come in pairs etc). This was about 3 years ago so I don't have the receipt but from memory it cost around the 800 mark for all the hoses and clamps + labour to get them done. Not cheap but gave me piece of mind and I never had another problem. Oh yeah and I'd def go genuine hoses as they are rated to pressures and temps. Other non genuine hoses NEVER seem to last as long as the genuine items.
