  1. What really grind my gears today is when you post in the wrong thread, try and fix it by deleting and reposting and just at that moment the power goes down in your office
  2. So sammie...if you read this....was it the fuel pump or clutch that put your car off the road? If it was the fuel pump dying while driving consider yourself lucky that nothing went bang when the motor leaned out
  3. If you hit a curb at 60kmh I'd say theres more damage than just the rims.....suspension components are damaged quite easily... Don't drive it and get it towed to a place like wilk's suspension 9370 2646. My advice...take part in a few driver training courses and learn how to drive your car....that way these 'accidents' caused by your right foot are less likely to happen.
  4. Open faced is fine as long as it complies to australian standards. If it does it will have the aus standards sticker on it (red and silver or white sticker with ticks on it). The scrutineers look for that sticker.
  5. Lol don't be shy mate...plenty of people have turned up with stock skylines....just run what you bring and have some fun

    Vx Burnout

Hahaha Not the 'burnout' I was expecting Yeah love the 'still made 1211hp' comment at the end hopefully that made the owner feel better
  7. Yep I should be there.
  8. Easy do a check to find out exactly what is owing on the car. Then when it comes time to buy you send the finance company a cheque for the amount owing first...they'll release full ownership to you and you pay the seller the remaining amount.
  9. Thanks to paulr33 for hosting...this file might help a few people out with tyre sizes and info... http://paulr33.skylinesaustralia.com/docs/tire.xls
  10. wow he managed to spin the rear wheels on a Gem...now thats impressive. But in all seriousness I tend to agree with djr...why the media focus on the hoon stuff and only add the fact he used his car as a deadly weapon (besides the fact that its a gemini) as a side note is a joke. In my eyes the hoon laws across the country are nothing more than another excuse to pull you over for checks....
  11. Paul my name is down as well Don't worry Tom I'm running with really crap old falkens....can't be worse than that!! Oh and the cars being picked up to go to vic on the 2nd
  12. Is anyone able to host an excel spreadsheet as I have a great one that works out tyre diameters etc?
  13. Good to see that the year has started with gusto.....pity to hear about peoples dramas
  14. While I couldn't agree more I think the sticking point is "....vehicle fitted with a temporary defeat device." All the devices mentioned are removable whereas the butterfly valve is a permanent device.
  15. Nice pete.....glad everything worked out
  16. AWESOME NEWS champ This is the first I've heard of it....congrats man I bet you and the new mum are wrapped.....she is so cute! Best advise I can give is to take lots and lots of picswhen they are this young...before you know it they grow up
  17. WTF??? The road rules allow the person in front to stop as quickly and as hard as they need to (unless they hit something). The person behind is supposed to allow enough space in order to stop without making contact. I know if someone did that and no damage was immediately visable I'd still take their details and do a closer look later. Certainly if I had that damage on my rear bar i'd hit them up with a new one and as much of a respray as I could....it's my pride and joy and their mistake as simple as that....
  18. Bottom line arkon is that there aren't. As I and many others have said an ecus worth is in the tune. Just because it may not be so flash on one car and you might have chopped an 11bty kw car using a particular ecu doesn't mean that it won't work well on yours with a decent tune.
  19. Are you sure the squealing isn't coming from the actual brake pads/rotors? It is a common thing on skylines and I'm sure a search here would bring a heap of threads about it. Does the pedal feel soft...ie you brake at a point and to maintain the same braking force the brake pedal drops more? Brake bleeders are basically a hand pump (although you can get elec ones)....you disconnect the brake line at the caliper, attach the bleeder to the system and pump the fluid out. You also use it once you are finished to get all the air out the system. Most tool places have them....
  20. Tom they are not hard to do. The hardest part of the process is getting hold of a brake bleeder etc to do the job.....bit messy too What Mr keets says it correct...tech they make your car illegal and unroadworthy but I am yet to hear of a claim or otherwise (roadworthy etc) being knocked back because of them.
  21. Lol Thanks for all your replies. Judging from that pic it seems he may have an rb25 turbo (I haven't seen it so can't confirm). If thats the stock compressor wheel off an rb20 can I assume that they were all steel wheeled?
  22. Hi all, A mate is after some info on the stock rb20 turbo and is specifically after the compressor maps for it. So far I have been able to work out that its a Garret T25 but that is as far as I have got (and yes Ash I have done a search ). Cheers
  23. Exactly. The reason why PWR make sure they get quality items is because they have a brand name to lose if something goes wrong whereas a no-name copy does not.
  24. Hahaha those are quite possibly the funniest comments I have read... I agree that the china products are getting better and better quality wise however as someone else has said they are just copies. I'd have no problems using one on a low power car but would stick with a reputable brand for hi-po applications.
