  1. The extinguisher only needs to be inspected and tagged when it runs out of date. Not too sure but a new ext will expire in 2 years after manufacture....there is a date stamped on the bottle somewhere. if in doubt just take it to a fire services place and they'll inspect & tag it for free (assuming it doesn't need a re-fill).
  2. True Niz....but as you say for circuit or the twisties the manual is the way to go with anything you get advantages and disadvantages! By the way it was good to meet you and the rest of the crew....great location by the water by the way
  3. Hey Drew, Welcome and hope to see you at some events soon. Just as a heads up, if yours was made in Nov 1995 it'll actually be classed as a series 1.5!!! Between the series 1 and series 2 (late 1995) nissan decided to put some of the improved bits going into the series 2 into the last of the series 1's. So yours should have series 1 headlights, dash etc but will have a series 2 ecu, coilpacks. Doesn't sound like much but these things are different...ie series 1 coilpacks won't fit in your car etc
  4. Come on Guys...its a well known fact that autos do better in the drags than manuals....something about faster gear changes. A lot of pro drag cars run autos that are 'tuned' to change at the perfect point to maximize power and traction in each gear.....
  5. I can't believe you guys still use hp...after all SI unit of power is the watt Anyway been part of the SAU vic Autosalon melbourne for the last two years....we usually put in a mix of show/power/race cars with dyno reading from 180rwKW upwards to Leewahs beast. Comments we got from the crowds suggested it was good to see was 'obtainable' mods on the cars could do rather than a car that had money thrown at it. After all not everyone out there has thousands of $$$ to spend on their cars.....
  6. Setting aside the 'wank' factor of having mesh....I've done heaps of interstate driving as well as some fairly spirited country road cruises/drives and my mesh has saved the coolers from heaps of rocks & bugs etc. All you need to look at is the state of the mesh now with bent bits etc etc. So I'd say it depends on what kind of driving you intend to do....
  7. According to CAMS it has to be in a position that can be reached from the driver in his/her seat. Mine is in the passenger footwell bolted thru the trans tunnel and can be easily reached by me.

  14. Thanks Paul...so is the "high 200 to 300.." in hp or kw??
  15. Thanks Sneeza.....I sure did have fun....not much compares to the feeling when you're being followed by a pol copper That poor hire car was copping a bit just to keep up with you guys. I was following that english guy in the 32gtr (sorry I'm terrible with names ) as he seemed to have a level head and knew where he was going...lotta fun but will be more so when the 'line arrives
  16. Nice but what about the average gtst.....at melb last year they ranged from 180rwkw upwards..... As for GTR's well leewahs purple beast took out most powerful 4wd (and still holds the record I believe)
  17. Also some officials specify the window is down so you can indicate to a faster car which side to overtake on.
  18. Oh and I forgot to ask....is this run on the long track or short?
  19. what kinda dyno readings were gtst's getting last year??
  20. Brett... please put my name down for this....cheers
  21. hey mate are those std coilpacks or aftermarket??
  22. I believe Gtrgeoff had them in the red gtst with the std seats...
  23. I'll be there to put some faces to names....unfortunately my line will only be here in Feb so will have to put up with the thrasher hire car Just wait up for me guys and gals that dot in the mirror will be my hire car trying and trying to be a 'line.....
  24. why go for a VL when a fully sik gem will do the job
  25. So it has all the supporting mods and you are wondering why it doesn't ping???!!! Maybe it was tuned to support 18-20psi and was wound back for reliability? Hence its running enough fuel/air at the higher psi.
