If they had to write a law for every instance of the above, the road rules 'booklet' would be as thick as the manual of how a woman works The speed limit around a roundabout would read something like "For a light passenger vehicle the speed limit around a roundabout less than 10m in diameter, is 40kph. However if the roundabout is greater than 10m in diameter then the speed limit is 50kph. For a truck of less than 3 axles and under 4 tons, the speed limit....etc etc". Instead of that, the rules simply state that your speed approaching a roundabout shall be of a speed that will allow you to stop safely and judge the intersection correctly. As a result, YOU the driver needs to choose the correct speed for the size of the roundabout, the weather conditions, the traffic level and the vehicle you are driving. It also gives the police the power to pull you up if they judge your speed was inappropriate for any of those. This does not change the fact that the speed limit for that roundabout is the same as the section of road it is placed on. Of course, all of this is my opinion, but if anyone knows of a rule that states a set speed limit on a roundabout or the like please post it up. Sorry but I have to call BS on this one. That is the same line used by politicians to explain why these courses aren't compulsary when getting your license and what they say is ALWAYS right isn't it?? I would like to see the evidence of the above if it exists. Have you actually done one of these courses? I did when I first got my license and I can assure you that nothing they taught us made us feel invincible or able to do anything on the road - in fact, in my experience it did exactly the opposite.

Well you truely do learn something new everyday! Do you have any proof of the above? I do not believe the above to be correct - according to that we all have to slow down to 40kph while driving through a set of traffic lights and I really don't think that would be safe in an 80zone do you? To my knowledge the speed limit in a 'controlled intersection' is the same as the limit applied to the section of road it is on - of course this doesn't apply if you need to stop or face a give way sign. It is however common sense to slow down approaching either traffic lights or a roundabout to allow you time to stop or avoid an accident.

To the best of my knowledge, you couldn't be done for speeding because tech it is in a 60 zome. However you could be done for reckless/dangerous driving if the cop thought that you didn't apply due care or had a bit of oppo lock going on.
  4. Sorry to hear Hesh. Do you have any pics of the car you can post? Were there any unusual mods or anything like that?
  5. Great work
  6. Good work on the guards there Russ, they look great. Are you going to give the beast a lick of paint prior to SL or run it in drift spec? Hahaha you're a good unit Russ While I was able to catch you and raise the bar to give you something to aim at last year (after all its nice to have goals isn't it ) with the extent you are going to with this build, i'm sure the story will be different once our cars are finished. No matter the car there is a big diff between a purpose built, stripped track weapon like yours and a full fat streeter like mine. Give it a couple more years when my kids are old enough to be sitting in a passenger seat, I'll go to town on the R, and it will be ON
  7. Item SOLD. Mods please close thread, Cheers.
  8. Lol that was an interesting entry for the sweeper indeed As quick as the Evo is that soundtrack leaves a lot to be desired Snowy - that weight diff is huge...close to 400kg makes a lot of difference. I'm surprised that the R wouldn't catch the the Emo higher in the rev range.
  9. Thanks for the feedback Jack. I'll ask you the same q when you've spent some more time behind the wheel. Bris - holy crap that seat is moving around heaps I have Bride rails in mine and there is no way they move around like that! Have they been around the block a few times or maybe its the fitment to the car??
  10. Good times peeps Hey Jack...too embarrassed to run the emo under SAU were you How did you find the emo compared to the real race car?
  11. I have for sale one used Apexi Boost Control Kit just removed from my 33GTR in perfect working order. As you can see from the photos the kit is complete, minus the apexi supplied tee piece for the vacuum lines and the supplied cable ties. In the photo you can see the boost solenoid, sensor and harness to connect to the PFC (marked with a '2' in the pic). The plug marked with a '1' connects to where the std boost solenoid hooks up to on the harness. I am selling this as a complete kit and will not seperate. Note that the list of vehicles this is suitable for below comes from the manual (see pic) and the Apexi website - I take no responsibility for its compatibility...all I know for sure is that it came out of my R33 GTR. Item located in Melb for pick up otherwise I am happy to post at buyers expense. RRP $400 selling for $220. From the Apexi website: "To Suit PowerFC Skyline - R33 GTS-t S2 - ECR33 Skyline - R33 GTS-t S1 - ECR33 Skyline - R32 GTR - BNR32 Skyline - R33 GTR - BCNR33 Skyline - R34 GTR - BNR34 Silvia - S14 S1 Impreza - GC8/GF8 Ver1-2 Pulsar GTiR - RNN14 180SX - RS13 (CA18DET) The Apexi Boost Control Kit is an optional kit designed to control boost through the Apexi Power FC. Simple connection to the Apexi Power FC allows the user to access a full self-learning boost controller. The Apexi Power FC allows up to 4 different boost presets for any stage of driving. The high grade solenoid valve is the same one used in our Apexi Super AVC-R boost controller. As with the Apexi AVC-R, the Boost control kit allows increased boost response and boost stability at high RPM's"
  12. R31Nis is correct, if you drive a car with plates issued by a diff state than the one you are in then the police do not have the power to defect that car. Hell up until recently they couldn't even assign points to your licence if you were busted speeding in a different state to the one that issued you your licence (this has changed now though). Point this out to the issuing officer and he/she should cancel the defect. NOTE: that they can and will enforce the rule that if you live in a different state to the one that has issued you either your driving licence or car rego you only have 6 months (I think...maybe 3??) to change it over. Ignore this at your own risk
  13. Good work on the times guys....good to see you out there showing off the SAU colours
  14. Yeah mate, I'll be back but I'd rather not rush the build. Besides its not too far away now.
  15. Even though I've had to miss a fair few rounds this year due to 'circumstances' a big thanks to all the sponsors supporting the SAU m/s championship
  16. Bump... Whiteline Camber kit now $40 +postage
  17. Turbo's SOLD! Mods, please close thread when you get the chance, thanks
  18. Injectors SOLD! Turbos still avail - perfect upgrade if you are considering tracking your R or one (or more!) of your turbos are stuffed.
  19. I am located in bentleigh.
  20. Lol Russ...good work so far mate and I look forward to racing against it on the track (someone has to keep you honest)
  21. Ok I have some used parts up for sale off of my GTR that are left over after upgrades. First up are a pair of high flowed R33 GTR turbos with actuators. These made 280kw at the wheels on my last tune and are nice and responsive. The were highflowed by 'Dyna Torque' turbocharger services in Sydney and the receipt reads: "Overhaul Garrett T2 to suit Rb26dett. Replace ceramic turbines, hiflow to 290-320hp per unit and fit 360deg thrust kits. Serial No's DTDD5296/1 and DTDD5296/2" total hiflow cost $1760. Very similar to R34 N1 turbos. No shaft movement whatsoever, wheels turn smoothly and they were in perfect condition when removed from my car. Used for approx 30,000km since hiflow. One turbo has one damaged stud on the exhaust side due to seized nut (visible in photo). Asking $1100 Next up are a set of six std GTR injectors. These were serviced by "Express Auto Electrics" in Sydney prior to me buying the car. Once cleaned all injectors passed test with good flow and good spray patterns. I can supply report if requested. Asking $250 Last up is a standard GTR radiator. Radiator has no leaks but has some damaged fins due to age. Asking $50 Prices don't include postage - happy to post all items except the radiator due to size. I am located in Bentleigh, Vic.
