Hey all,
Was wondering if anyone knew whether the series 1.5 airbag steering wheel is interchangable with the series 2 airbag s/wheel? If so do I need the series 2 boss???
Thanks....
Groundrun,
I've had an ATP stage 2 highflowed turbo in my 'line for about a year now......great power gain for the money BUT ensure you have the usual safeties like FMIC, high flowed pump etc etc BEFORE boosting. Power at stock boost/stock turbo = approx 150rwkw
Power after stage 2 16psi/high flowed turbo = 210rwkw
Hey All,
Just wondering if anyone knows whether the series 1.5 airbag steering wheel is interchangable with the series 2 airbag wheel?? If so do you need the series 2 boss as well??
Free Bump.....
All.....just recieved my goods in the post from Brad......all bits present and in advertised condition....Thanks mate.
ps good job on the packing...took me about an hour to unwrap
Revhead.....thanks for the info......hmmm interesting considering I have a wolf 3d replacement comp!!! I have my stock ecu so I might spend some time swapping them over to see if it is the comp...thanks I'll look into that (at least I'll be able to determine if it is the ecu or something else)
Benjiman74......very interested in the nismo item if it does end up being the tacho, if you could hold onto it for a couple of days till I check ecus etc that would be great otherwise if you get an offer you are happy with before that, so be it.
Hey all,
Took my line out for a drive over the weekend and it looks like I've finally broken my tacho (stock) after all those trips to the redline On start up the tacho works fine and shows idle around the 1k mark (normal). When driving the tacho reads fine between 0-2500rpm but once the revs go past that mark it either drops to 0 or jumps all over the place. Funny thing is that when changing gears etc and the revs drop down past the 2500 mark the tacho starts reading fine again???
Now when something mech goes wrong in my car, I'm pretty good at diagnosing the prob but with gauges and other elec items I'm pretty clueless. Are the stock tacho sensors off the gearbox or do they read off a pulse from the coil packs? Also are there simple things I can check to make sure a connection hasn't come loose or something? Finally has this happened to anyone in vic and can you recommend a fix or a good auto elec?
Any info or help would be much appreciated.....
Hey Snowman,
What was the previous day like?? Did you get enough track time etc with the amount of people who showed up? Also what was the d***head factor like considering you don't need a CAMS licence?
Did you guys just drive up on the Sunday 'cause I was thinking of driving up on the sat, staying s/where and then driving back on the sun after the event?
cheers
Damn it!! Sorry Andrew but previous arrangement means I can't make your b'day drinks (racing karts that night)
I'll owe you a couple of shots at the next drinking session
Ferni.....no dramas 'bout the guards they're just taking up room in my garage
I'm still with skyline geoff.....betta seconds is the way to go.....got my stove top, oven, dishwasher, fridge...all with major savings and haven't had a prob to date.....
Happy B'day Andrew......Should be able to make it to the spy bar.....
Hey don't stress 'bout joining the 30 club.....my missus and I will see you there next year
Ferni......try Betta Electrical Seconds on Bridge Rd (I think). They don't have a huge range but might have what your looking for.
ps. Still have those plastic inner wheel guards if u r interested??
No probs man thats what these forums are for
My problem went something like this......with 1/2 the accel pedal down the problem never appeared and was only when giving it full pedal that it would happen. As you described it kinda like hitting the rev limiter at around 5000-5500rpm for an instant - the car would kinda pause for a second and then rev all the way to the redline. The way it was explained to me is that under 1/2 load the current through the coil pack is less and the whole spark is delivered to the spark plug. Under full load the max amount of current is passing through the coil pack and if there is even a hairline crack in the plastic casing the spark will 'escape' and ground on your engine block....thus the spark plug isn't fed and on that particular revolution of the engine you are missing one cyl hence the miss sound and pause in acceleration.
Anyway this was my problem and a new set of coils fixed it instantly.
Good luck with the fix....
Hey Shaun,
Check your spark plugs and coils....had exactly the same prob in my R33.....changed the coils over as the plastic casings were worn and cracked......problem hasn't come back
Roy,
I'm pulling out all stops in order to get down there for the weekend but it might be the weekend the inlaws are coming to visit so I might be whipped :-(
Will confirm and let you guys know....
