if ur car plays the music at full belt and it stays on then ur fine see how long it stays on without starting the engine see how badly the headlights dim when the bass hits when ur engine is idle and ur lights r turned on. ppl get newer batteries (better batteries) to prevent those things really... its the alternators job to keep the current levels up when the cars moving.

i'd go g-spot serenity + gspot serenity paint over dynamat. serentiy max costs about $100 for a large pack (enough to do 2 doors) compard to dynamat which is $200 for the equivalent. Dynamat is good stuff, but unless u've got $$ to spend, buy more serenity max and do it. how much do u want to spend? do the doors and the boot and that should be adequate, ofcourse u get better results deadening every panel ...but u should first figure out which panels r the ones making the noise. its just the doors r the noisiest cos thats where the speakers sit..and rattle it. use the paint to get the hard to reach areas. remember, theres lotsa deadening u can do urself aswell, ie. placing foam or things like that in crevices etc. want better results? add another layer ontop of what u've done. so basically, spend time finding which panels need deadening. yes it reduces road noise and other things aswell...since ur concerned about exhaust, i think u may have to do the floor..that'll be very expensive.

whats ur budget? and why do u want a 2 channel instead of a monoblock?
-
no (: keep going! luckily i'll have all my audio already done from this car so when i buy my new car in 2 months time i dont have to worry about it, i can concentrate on some mods for the car. Currently have a honda accord...so theres not much i can do except audio ! but when i get my s14...my car audio bug will go away i think.

Need help trying to figure out a speaker setup
Nav2k replied to funkymonkey's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
i'd go the splits and 6x9s and centre speaker, but im not too sure if i'd have a super-tweeter for it...depends on the frequencies the receiver gives out i guess... i didnt read that website properly. i'd hook up 6inch coaxes instead of 6x9's though since u've already got splits at the front and 2 subs running for the bass. should sound nice..good luck -
If u just mount it like that, u'll need a free to air sub, most subs work best in a box made with the correct volume to that sub, either ported or sealed. sealed would be the tightest bass, which i assume is what u want judging by the way u talk about ur home audio setup. Ported would be more bassy and not as accurate. General rule for sizes is 10inch for 5inch splits, 6inch splits = 12inch subs, and 15's are for 8inch splits . I think FHRX installs in sydney...not sure though, im not from syd (: msg him..he can show u pics he's done im sure.

Dont count out 2nd hand amps. ppl who sell amps this price normalyl know what theyre talking about and r into car audio and take care of their equiptment very well. I was in ur situation 2 months ago, I bought an audison LRx.400 2nd hand for $500. It runs 650rms at 2ohms, and 900rms at 1ohm. Monoblocks r designed for subs, and theyre ment for driving very low loads, so u'll probably get most bang for ur buck there. The alpine's r good too, mrd-500 is very nice. that can be hand for around $500 probably less with some haggling 2nd hand. Theyre 500rms at 2ohms. If u get a monoblock, u should run at 2ohms with ur setup, i assume ur subs are SVC 4ohms. Cadence have a great selection of monoblocks too but im not really a big fan of them. PG's are in ur price range aswell, but i'd personally go the alpine v12's over them, many will argue with that im sure... If u go 2 channels, i'd go an audison srx2s from www.webaudiodirect.com its 600rms when bridged to 1 channel at 4ohms. thats 300rms per sub, its around $540 i think. PGs are also a good choice again.. the vnet's are also good for the price they offer, the 2x100 is bridged to around 300rms i think at 4ohms, (not too sure on that) but theyre not 2ohm stable when bridged so u'll have to run them at 4ohms. Definetly get 1 amp for subs, and 1 for splits, the loads and power requirements on the amps for those different drivers are very different, and it makes sense to have components specialising for those needs. Bottom line, if it were my money, i'd go the audison srx2s (:600rms = 300rms per sub.. much better than what u were expecting to run!

looks nice and tidy, looks good nice set of amps u got there
-
how much do u have to spend? If i were u, i'd want to wire the 2 12's in parallel, so they run at 2ohms instead of 4ohms, that way you can decrease the impedence on ur amp, and run more power into them. a monoblock or a 2 channel amp would be perfect for this. You could easily put 200rms per sub this way from most amps provided that they are 2ohm stable. Whats your budget?
-
theyre called captec v-net subs, distributed by clarion. theyre decent subs for their price, and u got it for a very good price. congrats, hope u enjoy them (:
-
i have red if u change ur mind of colours. perfect working order, no chips etc. aerpro, 2x48 + 2x36
-
do u know the specs of the amp in rms and the specs of ur subs and other speakers? generally u'd want to run the amp to the front 2 speakers and bridge 2 channels to the subs but normally u'd have a seperate amp for the sub as it requires more power than speakers.

does it come with grilles ? for the mid bass drivers i mean
