I'm gonna steal your thread as I'm interested in the same stuff assembling bottom end at the moment. rb30e oil pump with no restrictors versus rb25 oil pump with restrictors (what size???) what would be your choice? Rb25/30 r33 series one head. daily driver + weekend thrasher standard head +35R -

ha I'm in too deep to change my username =[ E85 is def not the answer, skyline is my daily driver and long distanace hauler. Thus water injection being a more sensible approach I'm going to look in your thread, did it keep combustion temps down? -

Its looking like that is my next option, I'd prefer that to E85. How have you set your WMI up. I could toss up with the idea of water injection. Your in the same boat as me, Started to think that I was the the only 3076r to not make 300rwkw Strangely enough, it wasn;t until i bought a 3076r that i hear that what I hear my problem is common. around 280rwkw. I 6boost gave me 300-400rpm more response, expensive excercise to gain only a little. do 35 82R's have this same sort of problem? Does the difference in wheel size keep the air alot cooler? Ive got a kls power spirit intercooler, flows good though i think cooling wise unles its night time it doesn't do much. What intercooler do you run? -

I've since relocated pod to behind front headlight. still unshielded, this ive run a 3 inch air feed from front bar to the pod Also changed cas, old one died put new one in in exact same position and moved the timing curve 4 degree's. Had to reset. marginal hp gain midrange from moving the pod, doesn't help peak hp though. I was looking at ways to keep my engine cooler. Standard radiators are good, next best thing would be oil cooler maybe? -

Ive only had it for two days. definitely gets the power down better than old setup Took it for a spin at night and totally different car. The fact that i can get it to the ground in second gear is wonderful. doesn;t ramp onto boost and go nowehere Taking the car to Willowbank on sat. and test and tune next wednesday. Will find out results at the test and tune 1/4 mile on wed night. Apart from that the car drives noticably better at night. I'm suspect on injectors. and ideally I'm not going to know until i change them + retune xd Tuner definitely did a top job, hats off to them ive got confidence that the tune is spot on. I can't fault anything done to the car. Its always good to get multiple opinions! so boy or girl ? congrats mate -

Here we go, big post hardly the bees knees. For the price, I cannot complain. That idea has merit, I am to make a cold air intake feeding behind my passenger side indicator. results will follow Fuel filter A- OK, definitely not starving of fuel I think that its about right, I got my setup dynoed on a 24 degree day with the same turbo internal gate standard exhaust manifold 3 inch stainless dump and 3 inch stainless cat and i was pulling consistent 285rwkw, with about 10-20rwkw more midrange on the same boost, with 500rpm more lag questioning whether or not the hot air will really cause that much loss, considering there isn;t much gain with a cai One would think that 400rwhp should be a walk in the park, I was informed that they can normally get 25's to run 6 degree's more advance than what I am currently running. Addmittedly, i took the car for a drive last nite and it was significantly better than day time. Could come down to the cheap china cooler not being able to cool sufficiently in a 36 degree dyno. with only a dyno fan. Definitely flows though I'll choose engine longevity over hp claim! ha The response I was given was to change fuel It will lower intake temps from what. 60degrees to 35=40 degree's? ( not entirely sure) I'm making a cai atm, I'm going to try two different designs First is to sit the pod where it sits. inside a heat proofed paint tin with a 3 inch pipe running an air feed from my inner guard best thing about this is i can fully enclose the pod. Although tin doesn;t dissipate heat as well as alumium, i left the Tin inside my engine bay for 10 mins after running and inside air was definitely alot cooler than engine bay temp Other option is to run the pod all the way behind the drivers side light. and make an apology for a heat shield then run a 3 inch feed from underneath the guard, Best thing about this is that the point of restriction (pod) is away from turbo, so air doesn;t bottle neck anywhere near the motor downside is that i cannot entirely enclose the pod inside a paint tin xd so yes it will be sucking in a portion of engine bay air. not as hot as being above the extractors, tho will still have cold feed to it. Cold air intake the cure for pinging- it will certainly help, whether 10 or 20 degrees of lower intake temp is going to drop down combustion/ cyl heat (700 degrees) I'm doubtful -

I'm thinking along the same lines. Have a look at this dyno sheet of my vehicle, doing consecutive power runs under bonnet temps would have rose something chronic would it be enough to still cause that much power loss, we are looking at 70whp there, that is a bit much isn't it? even at 380whp i thought that this setup would produce more than that ( done when intake temps are low) Ive got one of those KLS power spirit intercoolers, They Flow alot, and have quite large fins, previously i had a really dense intercooler. got me thinking that in 36 degree's and with my pod sucking in All that hot air the thing wouldn;t really be cooling it in a dyno that has 36 degrees ambient temp -

bit too late as it is off the dyno, i honestly didn;t think it was goign to make that much of a difference, seeing as cold air intakes only give at best 5kw atw gain. -
Hey guys Just thought I would throw this up here for personal opinion I'm just tossing up idea's on whats going on. The problem that I am getting is that the engine doesn't like timing. Its running 17 deg advance at 7500rpm. anything more and it wants to ping Ran BP ultimate on the day. Bad batch of fuel would ping like crap coming onto load. The problem that I am getting is that it wants to ping top end. My setup is this: r33gtst manual 155-160 +-5 across all 6 when warm 580cc high flowed sr na injectors (tested, spray pattern perfect all, all spraying same amount when tested) Plazmaman Plenum 3" stainless intercooler piping 600X300X100mm intercooler, kls power spirit bosch 040 in tank pump splitifre coil packs standard fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator 3.5 inch turbo back stainless mandrell bent exhaust. 3.5inch cat, 100 cell brand new 6 boost manifold, Tial 44mm External gate GT3076R .60A/R anti surge front, .56 Wheel trim .82 rear, .84 wheel trim external gate 4 bolt rear, 5007 3076R Testing done so far: Pressure drop of intercooler. .5 of a psi drop from turbo side to inlet plenum Exhaust pressure is only at 3 psi at ful noise De-carbonise tops of pistons/cylinder head clean (did f**k all) Ive got this thing tuned with the aid of Exhaust Gas Temperature senders on each cylinder, they are all on par and off the top of my head should be somewhere around 650 degrees (don't quote me) Ive got two things that i want to address. does that dyno sheet look to be about right? and apart from the heat on the day (35 degree's in the dyno room) would there be any other reason to blame something else apart from heat soak for this problem Discuss.

Intercoolers? Suffering From Pressure Drop

seems alrite so far, throttle respose definitely improved i did notice that the thing was heavy and a bit awkward to mount up for one person. she weighed at least 12 or so kg find out the result tmrw -
Intercoolers? Suffering From Pressure Drop

first thing i noticed before i put the thing on was that longer bolt came in handy i changed it on the car with a bit of elbow grease. using the longer cap headed bolt to get it started and bring it home thats a handy idea, had to modify the original dump that i got to the point that the only thing left of it was the dump of the turbo aswell as the front half of the plumback return for the wastegate. sits like a beauty now tho! new diaphragm in the gate? never thought you could buy parts for these -
Intercoolers? Suffering From Pressure Drop

threw on the kls powerspirit (999 automotive) intercooler, 4 inch core Bolted in sweet without even having to touch my front bar or reo. intercooler definitely looked alot better than the one i had on. the fins on the inside where the air flows through only had a 5mm path to go through. vs the 10mm or so for the kls power spirit btw dano i pulled apart that tial 44mm gate. had a small blue spring (rated 7.252 psi) and a large red spring (rated 10.153 psi) with this combination it was originally running about 22 then creeping to 24 psi removed the small blue spring. Now running the large red spring only now it hits 15 psi and creeps to 17 psi -

awesome, i'll have a chat with noel tomorrow. if i can get away with just a 76mm, that would ease with space just jap cooling pro could also do the job. yes my china cheapie is restricting it =[ not flowing too well. btw dano cheers for the egt's, they are working a treat! what bear do you drink? -
Intercoolers? Suffering From Pressure Drop
sriver killer replied to sriver killer's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yer ive got a cheap arse one xd 3 inch in 3 inch out I'm leaning towards the 999 automotive "kls power spirit" 4 inch core, 600 X 300 X 100 apparently they flow well, the guy at the shop guarantee's that at 30psi there is only 2psi pressure drop. sounds like they might be the one, anybody used one of these? -
Hey guys Ive got a 3076R on a rb25 with all supporting mods, 6boost, plasmaman, fmic etc Struggles to make any more than 360rwhp on 18 psi due to pressure drop It is seeing 24 psi before the intercooler and only 18 psi at the inlet manifold. its a chinese intercooler, 600X300X76 Ive had a search already looking for an intercooler that won't pose as much restriction have had a quick search... I think i'm after a 600X300X100 what do you guys normally recommend/use Looking for an intercooler that doesn't pose much of a restriction/ reasonable cooling properties any body using the jjr intercoolers?
