  1. nice, ah well. got mine already, happy to pay 75 for it
  2. YES!!!!! i just got mine today. you can check almost anything you like with it, and makes error code reading stupidly easy. mines an aussie made one by ECUtalk usb consult, cost $75 bucks straight from them. postage was uber quick. and YAY my car came up with code 55 (no malfunction). only thing im not to sure about is the timing at idle seems to fluctuate rapidly, not by alot, but the guage on the ecutalk program seems quite eratic, the moment you come off idle its fine and doesnt seem to affect the cars idle at all. ECUTalk not sure if it works on the R34 (assuming by your name that you own a 34), or if you need to buy a different one for it. the one i bought comes with a few different free programs, but you can pay big bucks for some of the programs, although im not sure why.
  3. i dont agree with the whole black box idea, and GPS checking your car. people would be too busy looking at thier speedo instead of the road in fear of being done for speeding. everyone speeds a little (even little old ladies who do 70 in a 100 zone and 70 in a 40 zone). idiots need to learn some way, everyones had an acco at some point whether it be small or large isnt dependent on the car. But the ego of the guy behind the wheel. being a fool to this extent with passengers is a big noo noo. my friends always want me to give my car a foot full, but i wont with others in the car or in ANY form of traffic. if they wanna feel the speed they can buy thier own and run the risks themselves, the chances of something going wrong are to high. maybe this is just me being an old fuddy duddy but that my view. if you dont want cops to notice you, buy a plain white R33 gtst and dont put a huge exhaust on it. done more than 10,000km in the last few months in my car and cops havent even taken a sideways glance at me. (maybe ive just been lucky?)
  4. wow funny numbers flying around. it is not best to overfill, over filling leads to excess pressure, and busted seals. anywhere between High and low is good, thats what the marks are for. different filters hold different amounts of oil too
  5. had a funny rolling noise in the door on hard accel, and decel. finally opened it up, and found a spray bottle, non aerosol, no idea what it is as theres no english writing on it, im think maybe breath freshener, glasses cleaner, maybe de-oderiser or some sort. has a small green mint leaf on it, and almost full. no real smell, and im not willing to spray it in my mouth to find out.
  6. hahahaha, funny thread guys. no complaints here except i dont let her drive it 1km up the road to work to park it under a tree filled with birds that crap on it. so i drive her to work and tinker with the rine all day
  7. i had a clicky noise too when i turn the car to ACC, wasnt so much in the dash, but sounded like it was in the roof...... didnt take me too long to figure out it was the electric aerial going up.....LOL i felt real stupid after noticeing as it was starting to worry me. i have an excuse though, no car ive ever owned before has had any electrical wizardry in it, a stereo was as much as ive ever had.
  8. cool, in the process of getting one of these, sounds like its the right way to go. saves reading blinks for error codes. is there any difference between the direct USB ones and the ones with USB addaptors? (other than the plug)
  9. my box whines a little in all gears, but i figured a box that can take this much punishment is aloud to have a little noise. just open the windows or turn up te stereo and its gone, cheap fix on a serious note though, G70 if you ahvent tryed it, and some redline, or equiv nice oil
  10. did my box and diff this weekend (engine last weekend) second was near impossible on the first shift on a winters morning, hence why i changed it. upon draining, i only got 2.8L out of it, but it looked pretty clean. decided to go penrite to see how it goes, i used sin 75 in the box, about 3.8 litres went in. and limslip 90 in the diff, 1.4 came out (some funky purple color), 1.8 went back in. and a bottle of nulon G90 between em. second i beautiful now, even on an icy cold ass outback morning. i bought a little hand pump from supercheap for 8bucks, but it wouldnt move the oil at all, so i made up a crude rig with garden hose, masking tape and a couple of stools. worked a treat (ive always done it this way on all my cars, just tryed the pump hoping it would make it easier and neater.......no, freakin mess cleaning up after realising it wasnt gonna do it the box was really clean as it had a little tiny bit of threat tape on each plug, so i did the same when i put em back in so far so good, i'll let yas know if i have any dramas with the penrite, but all seems good atm
  11. wow I'd be a firey if i got to drive one of those
  12. compared to using a worked solid mounted '58 Beetle with no sound deadening as a daily driver for 7 yrs, i recon the 35 GTR would be a limo to drive every day....guess it all depends what your used to and how deep your pockets are to play with choices. 160k is a pretty normal price
  13. sooo with the 180 degree internal turn...to change traffic direction you need to drive head first into traffic...stop...wait for it to rotate...then drive off..... looks like they might have cottoned on to that by the second concept. but still far too "different" for its own good. i too would quite literally ROFL if i saw one on the road
  14. hilarious. I found a few places like this while searching for my car initially, and for about 5 mins thought i could get a nice 32 GTR for under 18k..... the GTR i found was on carpoint for $13000, said it was cheap cause last buyer fell thru and had to be gone fast aparently. I emailed him, and all i got back was a "sorry its sold, but check this website out www.xxxxx.com" and it was a direct link to the same sorta site, offering every type of import for under 20 grand, all grade 4 cars, blah blah blah. always too good to be true
  15. ewwww buying accounts. pity the raid that toon ends up in wow is still good, although ive only played it from half way thru BC, i worked my ass off early on for my epic 80's. hate seeing fresh lvl 80's expecting to raid.... far too adictive though, keeps me from tinkering with the skyrine
  16. hmmm, mines back and with avengeance. done about 3500km's since last post. ive cleaned the AFM, wrapped coil packs, gapped plugs, checked for air leaks, reset the computer but with no change. seems like it only does it sometimes, at first it was only after hrs of driving and everything under the bonnet was warm, but yesterday happened just after leaving my folks place early in the morning. i think maybe the AAC only works somtimes? maybe its a bit faulty or on the way out so it only does its job occasionally? makes it real hard to sit in traffic sometimes, managed to control the stall but requires some fancy foot work...which id rather not do in traffic
  17. that sucks, im at my parents at the moment, and theres always some bogan that see's my car on the side of the road and decides going fast in 50 zones is the coolest (no skylines yet though)
  18. wow the things you find while randomly browsing.....im in the brissy area atm, not interested in driving (thats a lie), but can anyone come and spectate?? id love to come have a look at you guys and gals giving your liners hell and meet a few of you.
  19. YAY finally get One on southern cross ten, my late nights are gonna get soo much better now that i can avoid infomercials
  20. im in brissie for a few weeks, but the skyrine will be heading west again on thursday morning might be able to make it in the Kombi
  21. ima proud boat....ahh R33 driver. could be worse could be a supra, they are an upside down boat at least us 33 drivers have room to swing very small cats in our cars spotted a white R34 2 door with black roof, bonnet and boot on lutewyche rd. looked sweet. didnt see the numbr plate, but had the doof doof blairing
  22. nobody care that killing the cat completely is illegal?? im a dog man myself, but if you gotta have a cat.....
  23. not sure if the ryco does or doesnt, the article only covered the K&N filters, im just gonna go for basic filters after this K&N, im sure the difference is minimal, and no one else seems to have to many troubles with em.
  24. Thankyou!!!!!!! really good to finally hear a solid YES for this filter, thanks sooo much man, ive been going nuts trying to figure out if was gonna use it or not
