  1. hey guys, i have spent days searching here and google and please point me in the right direction if i have overlooked sumthing.... however i am planning on building a rb25/30 twincam engine.... im looking at doing it on a strict budget and am aiming for about the 200-300rwkw mark (depending on combo). i have got a power fc with z32 afm... to start with..... so my question is... what is a good responsive turbo option for this setup??... i would like to reduce lagg, improve responsiveness and overall power/reliability... i have been told to look for a vl turbo and high flow it and make sure i get a .63 exhaust housing or sumthing......can anyone shed any light on this?>? p.s sorry i should add... iv seen all the links with the recommmended t03/t04 turbo upgrades and t04e blah blah.... but i couldnt make much sense of what turbo has what type of shaft, and wot turbo was good for what, and which turbo was newer etc etc.... thanks for ur help
  2. sorry to side track but does the rb26 plenum line up and bolt up to the rb20 and rb25?
  3. for a street car, there is little point. the difference to a 150-300kw setup would be minimal at best.... would be better off custom fitting a bigger side mount cooler with carfully selected piping alternatively if u were going to stick to ur method..... look into getting a radiator that is thicker but not as wide... so ull have room for some cooler pipes either side.... as apposed to cutting
  4. theprodaniel.....what was ur final cost for the conversion then?
  5. check all ur intercooler joiners and hose clamps are tight....
  6. anyone else? i would also consider a rb25det head
  7. hey guys im after a complete r32 rb25de head... i realise they are not a dime a dozen but show me wot u have... alternatively if i cant get a complete head im after cams, valve springs and collets, buckets, inlet manifold... pretty much all the goodies out of the head. thanks guys ps prefer sydney, if not please let me know how much including postage
  8. i got dibz..... remember drive2slide, give me a yell if u wanna seperate... cheers
  9. the trick i use is put the silicon on the pipe urs going on.... feed it on 3inchs which is generally a good joiner length... press firm to feel the pipe inside the silicon and insert a sharp stanley knife and just use the pipe and a guide.... it will give u a clean, square edge every time.... best in my opinion without big tools
  10. hey sorry to take away from the turbo topic but i had this same thought (altho didnt get very far) and im really keen to see how u go with this... i worked at nissan for many years and was the xtrail man back in the day.....im sure this thing isnt very stock any more but give me a yell if u unsure bout anything..... keep it updates on the forums or send me some pics/info its a shame ur in wa
  11. thanxs for the reply.... i pm'd u.... i got a FMIC recently so get back to me with the vents.... ta
  12. first things first.... disconnect and remove all coils and anything else that make ignite fuel....pull your plugs out.... and crank it over.... and see how much fuel sprays out..... there should be a fine mist but thats it.... if your getting solid droplets then theres an injector problem... also note if one cylinder if spraying more fuel then others..... also wen u have stopped cranking, leave the ignition on and look into the cylinder with a touch *CAREFUL AROUND FUEL* and listen/look to see if an injector is stuck open and still spraying.... other things to look for is a CAS problem and inspect your AFM....get a multimeter and check the signal wire out off the AFM as u blow thru it (with ign on) and see if ur getting a consistant voltage, and not one that jumps from 1v to 0.1v then to 4volts.... anyway check those and let us know
  13. dont mean to sound like a prick but i dunno why ur persisting to take ur head off if u dont even kno theres anything wrong with it??? :S
  14. even better
  15. also id be keen to see what it weighs onces its all together and in race trim
  16. mate u mustnt have anything else do u and have abit of cash laying around.... seems as tho uv got it together pretty quick... keep the updates AND PICS coming
  17. its the switch, as are 95% of other nissan headlight problems.... either replace it or removed and pull it apart.... clean the points in the switch.... refer to the guide in tech guide section
  18. dibs on ac vents if u still have them!!! for an r32 PM ME please
  19. dont have any ac vents for a r32 do ya? dibs if u do? or a r33 gtst turbo? with lines??
  20. the majority of oil leaks arent life threatening apart from the fact u have to keep replacing the lost oil..... oil leak could be anything.... u need to dip a bit of white paper into the puddle and find out what colour it is.... also shuv your camera under the car and take a pic of where the oil is coming from..... try and establish if its from the engine.... and if it is, things like is it coming from the front or rear, or either side.....also dont think just coz its got 30000kms on it things wont go wrong... iv seen brand new cars leak oil, or cars with 10000 blow a motor.... as for the missfire.... mate this could be any number of things....start off checking all the usual things.... check your spark plugs, your coils, all your electrical connections for the injectors, sensors and earth and get bak to us.
