  1. if the chassis rails are fked, it's as good as a write off. it ll never be the same again. the most profitable way would be to part out the car and fix the engine, if it has minor damage.
  2. asked my parents, however my dog doesn't like small dogs. if it was bigger, it would have been fine. then again, it seems like your dog is a house dog. our spoodle is outdoors only (99% of the time).
  3. wrong. since if hes allowed to drive turbo, those laws don't affect him. f**k, should have been a lawyer. License before july 1st 2007, old power to weight laws. turbos/superchargers allowed, v8s banned though. p's for 3 years. License after july 1st 07, turbos/superchargers banned. however, the new p plate system wasn't inplace for at least 6 months, so old p's just turbos/superchargers banned. p's for 3 years. New system, turbos/superchargers banned along with stricter p/w restrictions and engine performance mods banned. (however, its debatable what they could considering engine mod). p's for 4 years.
  4. it would defeat the purpose of on unmarked cop car, i have good enough eyes for antennas, would make it easier with those. also, how is that thing roadworthy? civilian cars can't have objects sticking out the side of them. seems unsafe to me. darn double standards.
  5. nowhere near enough surface area for current solar to power a car. also very costly. hybrid is where it's at, yet they are still along way off replacing normal cars. after watching top gear, a diesel electric car seems alright. considering the most efficient engines in the world a turbo diesels in ships, a decent diesel engine powering a generator for the motors. since diesel engines make decent amounts of torque, good to power the generator. yet, still leaves the battery problem.
  6. will help the C02 problem however, it ll just create another problem. pollution created from the production and waste of batteries which is already bad because of mobile phones and laptops.
  7. double checked, only type-M R32s came 4 pot brakes. so you're right. while, rb20 turbos aren't strong, that's an easy fix. probably bolt on a rb25 turbo when i have the cash anyways. however, spending 10months on nissansilvia, i did learn that SR bottoms ends aren't that strong. also, even if rb20s are more likely to fail, they are half the price if not more. considering the car is on a tight budget, seems like a better idea. considering, if i get a s1 s14, i would have to get a s1 s14 or later engine, probably around $3k for the engine alone. rb20s go for around $1k, obviously older and less popular but that's a decent price difference. really doesn't matter that much, it's my first car. ill probably ruined it anyways yet ill have to experience required to look after/drive a TT supra or GTR afterwards.
  8. fap internet slang for masturbate.
  9. i use one of these, seems to work well enough.
  10. all 180s came with 4 stud, a friend in a '97 typeX just did a 5stud conversion. small brakes compared to the 4 pot r32 brakes. rb20s lack the torque true however, i have heard too many stories of people destroying SRs. also, SR motors are overpriced, at least 2k for a replacement, never.
  11. LPG is a green fuel, compared to the others. some power stations use natural gas and compared to coal, burn far cleaner. a camry switched on LPG. http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/co2-emis...els-d_1085.html as you can see, LPG produces more energy for the same amount of CO2 compared to diesel.
  12. how bad was the crash? repairable? the scum in this world.
  13. LPG requires a large tank. i doubt diesel is as clean as a good petrol engine, also more noisy and poor power bands for car use for such a small engine.
  14. styling doesn't really matter for me. the car itself is way more important. the 180s you are talking about, have 4 stud, small brakes and red top SRs. inferior compared to a s1 s14. however, still sold on r32s. just hard finding a clean one
  15. removable steering wheel might help? GPS tracking? saw a few units of ebay, looked alright.
  16. in victoria it's illegal to be able to change the volume of the exhaust. this applies to removable silencers and exhaust valves. however, if you hide it well, you should be able to avoid any problems.
  17. no need to warm the car, just drive it quietly for a while. usually boost will spike up and drop back a bit, i figure because the waste-gate finally opens, releasing pressure. happens exactly the same on my friends type x (180sx). however, misfiring isn't normal. check your spark plugs, coil packs ect.
  18. what's the screen look like? crt or lcd?
  19. what gearbox do you plan to use? i would jump on nissansilvia forums (when it works), create an account. go into member rides and looking for a rb25 s14. similar, car, considering it was sr20 at the start as well.
  20. whens the next dyno day/night after the 13th of december? will be on holidays during the other two that are mentioned in this thread.
  21. could the cars go to a wrecker? or only scrap?
  22. series 1 and 2 really only have styling differences and a considerably larger price tag.
  23. sif watch tv. http://au.tv.yahoo.com/highway-patrol/
  24. probably pleaded guilty to all offenses and got a lighter sentence. judge might have taken into account the area and time of night. you'd expect far harsher sentence if he did that during the day in the middle of traffic. wtf was with that southern cross on the bonnet though. clearly owns the wrong car. is it an offense to go along with someone breaking the law? as in knowing the driver is drunk or in the car while it's doing skids?
