  1. fedex shipped the tyres right to my door. tracking worked well. as you can see. its better to order 4 tyres if not more.
  2. strange. i did everything via email. say that it isn't possible to call of time zone differences.
  3. cheap motorbike helmets still meet australian standards, so it's likely to protect you well. especially for a slow speed track day like deca.
  4. strongly disagree. don't buy a cheap helmet. they are cheap for a reason cuz they are shit. if you cant afford anything expensive buy an open faced racing helmet. if you can afford it a bit more, buy a half decent full faced helmet. when i actually take my car to the track, ill have to get a better helmet. its FAR too hot in summer, the padding is uncomfortable and itchy. so spend the extra $50-$200, its worth it and i have only being passenger so far. i would hate for a helmet to ruin my track days.
  5. would change AFRs aka just dump in more fuel making the car richer. that's that i would guess for $12.
  6. lol. remember they are 12hrs or so behind us. so communication is slower then normal. i got my tyres 2 weeks ago. if you don't get a reply within 24hrs of sending the last email (and its a weekday) send them another email. what information do you have so far?
  7. yeh i know. he even looked in up but got confused between s14s and 180sx type x. when it comes to important information. i ask here or NS.
  8. because it's an amazing work of engineering? unbelievably quick? faster then a 911? though, not a huge fan of its looks. if i won a large amount of money, i might not buy one either however it's far better then the mustang.
  9. actually not really. it isn't the only option. the big american v8s have no room in the engine bay however they still manged to turbo twin turbo setups. how? the turbos are placed further down on the manifolds. usually there's enough room to run the turbos behind the engine, down a bit lower then a normal setup. there's a slight loss in heat from the manifold but it would be minimal. everything else can be setup like a normal system. i tried to find a picture, i have seen some but i couldn't. google failed me.
  10. who really cares about drag times. GTR was designed for track work and really to beat the 911 around the ring. honestly the people who would rather the mustang, should have the mustang. if they don't understand why the GTR is so awesome, too bad for them, i wouldn't be trying to convince them of something that is kinda obvious.
  11. ya should have posted up a copy of the letter. great for business and yes, he should pay. i remember a friend asking an autobarn what oil filter was required for his 180sx, they gave him the wrong filter. however, since it was very similar, we didn't notice until $60 worth on oil was on the ground. the refused to replace the oil even though we took their advance. we didn't buy the oil from there again.
  12. unsure. i wish they did, would make it a million times easier. send them an email about it? plus the range and availability of tyres, especially high end and racing tyres. the tyres i bought wont be available in stores for a good 2 months.
  13. email them with the extra tyre size and brand. they ll give you a quote for shipping and total cost. then ask for wire transfer details. make sure they give you the correct swift code. when going to the bank, make sure you have all the information required. including names and addresses of the bank and tirerack.
  14. it would be a lot bigger in victoria if the only drift track wasn't 3hrs from the city. great vids.
  15. lol. what business? (pm if you don't want to shame) i do most of the work on the car myself since i don't earn much, i don't mind doing it and i have enough free time. when something needs to be done soon or is too complex/out of my current skill set, i get a friend of mine to do it. he runs a small backyard operation for now.
  16. Mustang isn't even in the same league as the GTR.
  17. ended up getting my tyres. took less then a week to get to my door, with the cheaper shipping option. was a bit of a pain to get the whole wire transfer thing done but overall it was worth it. the tyres are epic. should have bought them ages back. pro tip: buy while the dollar is strong. the freight tracking ability is also very good, makes me happy to know where and how far away the shipment was. ----------------- avoiding GST when importing, you could just ask the company to send it "one at a time" so technically it's just multiple shipments of cheap items instead of one shipment of expensive and taxable tyres yes, tax evasion however that is still legal.
  18. maybe 9psi was a little extreme however after doing some calcs. atmospheric pressure is 12.9psi at 1000metres above sea level which isn't that high. oh well, i guess it doesn't matter.
  19. the only way to stop such laser readings is with laser jamming devices however it will be somewhat obvious when your car can't be read. detection is easier however you must react within a second otherwise its too late.
  20. s14s have no such features. they work for all bands used by police forces. mobile speed cameras, that are setup and fixed for the entire day use radar and are fully automatic. police also setup on the side of the road with lasers and have another car later down the road they call to pull you over or they do it themselves.
  21. actually its not. radar detectors are perfectly legal to buy and sell however use on victorian roads is illegal. yes they do have radar detector detectors however that model im looking at is very difficult to detect on the most sensitive settings. i cant say never but i rarely speed through intersections not only for the fact that a lot have cameras that are very sensitive, it's also dangerous. far too often i have had to avoid cars doing right turns too early. so, i don't have any problems with fixed cameras. the fines and now to think of it, it was only 2, have been from mobile cameras setup. which do use radar and do fine people for 3-10kph over. most radar detectors have city settings to avoid false alerts from other devices that use radar. oh well, dead topic is dead. ill look for more info else where.
  22. just want to stop the ridiculous 3-10 over fines. it's a lapse in concentration on the limit not actually attempting to do it. plus id rather pay attention to the road not my speed every minute.
  23. i looking for reviews not more 'dont speed' 'dont buy them' bullshit. i guess not many people use them.
  24. Just wondering if anyone uses them. How well do they work? Ever been fined for using them? im thinking about getting the Whistler PRO 78SE. reasonably priced and is only detected by radar detector detectors at very short distances, if at all. would love to get the invisible detectors however they cost around $1000 and i cant afford it.
