  1. a few friends have had some problems with chasers, not that i can be bothered going into it. only heard good things from status.
  2. as a navigator, i did save a few ppl from wd but it helps when only a minor part of the layout is forgotten. good day, interesting times. surprised to see john take the rwd mini wang record considering the huge lack of power but i guess that shows, power isn't that important.
  3. keep an eye out for EPA vans and wildlife. also, cyclists can be absolute flamin mongrels on mt roads. i remember being passenger on a SAU cruise up through king lake. the road was probably 1.5 lanes wide at most, with polls right on the outer edge. we had at least 15 maybe 20 cars on that cruise and we seemed to have caught up with a bunch of cyclists. not one of them pulled over focusing everyone to drive on the wrong side of the road.
  4. good. at least im not losing my mind
  5. i went back over a few threads i had posted in, only to find a few of my recent posts gone along with some other members posts. so, was there some minor data loss? edit: now im 100% sure there's a good gap of posts missing over many threads i had been responding to.
  6. if it was built for street racing why not put a huge ass turbo on it and do a manual conversion. that would be far more successful, plus all that suspension work really isn't required for such activities. dragging with an auto, even a manual civic is going to get a better start off the line.
  7. i was at a similar point at the end of last year and went with a s14. -better engine -bigger brakes -better chassis -5 stud list goes on. r33s are large cars and most that sell under $10k are in poor condition. series 1 s14s aren't as popular. a lot of people don't like the look even if it is exactly the same as the series 2 mechanically.
  8. i was talking about imports, since im really only interested in jap cars. http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=374790 - this was an epic build, however it seems most pics are now gone http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-car-...-drift-car.html http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-car-...sil80-rb30.html http://www.sillbeer.com/ last but not least, this build. nothing i have found comes close to the amount of effort in the write up. not even a fan of the old skylines but still spent hours reading it all. http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1600
  9. might not even get registered, depends if the silver car was already registered here and is still currently registered. even ignoring that, NSW has yearly rwc, so its doubtful it ll last long on the road.
  10. wow, some amazing parts/work but the style doesn't impress me. and to go with an auto? after all that work, not even a sequential shifter. OP, there are LOTS of amazing build threads out there. you just have to search for them.
  11. another great day, will be interesting to see the results.
  12. drove on 3 month old fuel. car ran as well as it always does.
  13. garden piping from bunnings. cheap and does the same job. just be careful about water.
  14. just think how easy it is to remember a custom plate? now, add to that $500 to the risk of possible complaints to police. overtake someone on boost, some random thinks you're a hoon and calls you in. reading a bunch of random numbers and letters is A LOT harder to remember then custom plates. plus, what does it achieve? the look of the car? yeh, OMG so cool with plates. at least stuff like tint/paint or rims can actually improve the look of the car. leave the custom plates for wankers in excels/lancers with huge chromies, 5" exhausts and shocking paint jobs.
  15. wank factor IMO
  16. ill be there but my car wont be
  17. just another troll. probably annoyed his excel has trouble doing 100kph on the on-ramp.
  18. true but that's not included as the cars real speed. simple to bypass.
  19. i know someone who hit around 300kph in a basically modded 32GTR. vids on youtube show R34s doing 200mph(340kph) though, cant be certain they are fully stock though.
  20. for you, without a track near by you ll never be able to use the full potential of the GTR. then again, that goes for all sports cars. slow? compared to a F1 car but value for money, one of the fastest cars around. stock R34s will go past 320kph. huge power figures aren't going to happen as easily with such a small capacity. with 1/4 miles, 4wd will be slowing it down. for a drag car, i would look at something else, IMO. however, with that being said, basic tuning will see a vast increase in power over stock. stock cars were heavily under-tuned. the strength of GTRs is the amounts of grip available. pros: -grip and track potential -high response engine -good power gains from stock cons: -huge power expensive -requires a lot of work for serious drag racing. -heavy stock figures: 206kw engine. 0-100 ~5seconds 1/4mile to memory in the 12s but cant be certain. though, im sure you ll get a better response from someone who actually owns one
  21. www.carsales.com.au don't buy from a dealer, always a good 25% more the market value. find a car you like and think is worth getting then pay for a proffessional inspection. i recommend the following. costs a bit but worth it in the end. nothing worse then buying a lemon and considering you lack mechanical or even basic knowledge on imports, its a good idea. http://www.stateroads.com.au/
  22. stock NA supra is heavy and underpowered, the second run was around 7s. not 5. 1/4 mile is where its at and i have doubts it would crack 15s.
  23. 0:30 to 0:38 is what i counted. probably not 100% right but it seems like 8s, which is about right. similar acceleration to a stock VN. now this is quick(mph):
  24. would depend on the year. VL/VN/VPs aren't that heavy. but compared to s chassis cars, there's a big difference.
  25. needs more offset. apart from that, looking good.
