  2. Hi Brad Did you get my PM?
  3. We are running state hillclimb c'ship, removed diffusser, front splitter car back to original body spec bar after market rear wing and boot lid at the moment. Budget pending considering running clubsprint World Time Attack
  4. Great atmosphere and people to run with, pity they did not have this class a few years back. Personally I would wait for the stamp on type 6 from CAMs, if you want to get a record or trophy - hope it goes ahead. Cheers
  5. Fingers crossed - issues with computer but here's Race 1 Cheers Would like to thank my girls, and Pats mother Helen for giving my 16 year old Patrick life, (Kidney 1st March 2012) both going well since Op - love my children
  6. Here's the video of Race 3 will put together a bits and pieces one shortly
  7. Hi Chris Yes he got a 10 second penalty for jumping the start and I got a 18 second penalty for missing a flag point which was not reported by flaggys, only via protest at 6.30pm that night - anyways had a great time. In the vid I will put on soon, you can see the yellow, I just had a bit on at the time. Thanks
  8. Thanks Brian Won overall, but had protest lodged - lap 1 race 3 for passing under safety card board F4 in cutting no yellow visable board only. Copped 18 second penalty delegated to 2nd place.
  9. Good to see so many keen people interested in motorsport. For the few that are - here's a timetable we have to run to Plans were to run the R33 that we gave a reputable engine builder all the bucks to prepare - pre xmas, but we ended up 50+ Kws down on what we had 5 years ago, off dodgy engine builder. So sorry girls and guys - I feel the Falcon will be more competitive at this event But like it or not - here's our prized possessions. 10. Did some corner weights last couple of nights - AU - 3 Final setup - with me in the car = 1482kgs LF 392 RF 403 LR 338 RR 349 This gives me a perfect 50% diagonal with 3.6 degree negative camber - 2mm tow out front, 1.5 rear in - see how we go!! Skyline R33 last weekend we had final setup weight 1571 .5kgs with driver, LF 439 RF 465.5 LR 320 RR 347 This gives a diagonal ratio of 50.02% and car was great. (set new PB) 4 degrees neg on the front, 3 on the rear - 4mm tow out on the front - 2mm in on the rear (bit extra on the front helps in hillclimbs)
  11. Church Done 10am, off to Canberra 1pm - couple of beers and bundy's Round 1 - weather wise, not a bad day - bit too dry for my liking Tim won event outright in Gould, Doug second in Lola and and impressive 3rd to Ron in his 1st outing in the V8 Dallara. We have removed front splitters and diffuser off R33 and running in 2A SCC with 50kws less than last year. Got Fastest Tintop, 1st in class - and broke record by over 2 seconds Karen 3rd in class - pb and fastest lady Inlaws - father LC Torana - 1st in class and brother Scott Evo2 - 1st in class Type SV Must congratulate the club on a well run event and the high level of competition from competitors overall - saw many records broken - congrats.
  12. Hi Mark You owe me a rum one day - couple of pics attached - had to jack car up and lay on my back to get this photo lol Our one way valve is definitely Earls (sorry no part #'s) if you cant' find PM me - this was only added to R33 as precaution to vent system as sometimes ran slicks - EC sub 1.39's / 1.40's on AO50's & 1.01's Wakefield Park - Note - this is Nitto Oil pump - consistently runs 4 bar plus The ugly pic is the prototype on K''s R32 - that runs consistent 1.03's Wakefield Park AO50's // 1.44's at EC - please note this system used to have catch can pump back to sump (electric) - but has been disgarded for 3 years has no oil return to sump from catch can (after a day at Wakefield from catch can drain - we might get 10 drops of oil - 15 drops of water) 80,000km N1 spec engine - no issues whatsoever. Note - no head oil restrictors whatsoever - runs 3 plus bar - full factory engine head has not been off this engine. R32 is daily driver, R33 is registered but caged For the last 7 years we have used Nulon Synthetic 20W- 50W in both engines - no issues. Enjoy
  13. Hi All You's are going about this the wrong way, not being a smart arse, but many have solved their issues with our vent modification - oil flow / pressure restrictors, extra drains back to sump, mines baffles all helps but doesn't fix the problem. We put pictures and set up on 3 years ago as to what we run on the R32 with standard sump and the R33 with extended sump - both cars have been doing track work for 4 years including Aussie Supersprints, Hillclimbs, World Time Attack and sports sedan racing, Bathurst Regularity and Irace, not a single oil issue on AO50's or slicks. Prior to changes both cars would fill a 2 and a half to 3ltr catch can in 2 x 40 second hillclimb runs. See picture attached of R33, vent system - the trick is to let the engine breathe without pushing the oil out - you will not stop any engine from breathing under power, the slower the air flow the less oil it will push out, with R26's they fill the back of the tapet covers up and thats where the vents are and they have no choice but to pump the oil out. The front vent halves the air flow / breathing, and example under acceleration if rear vents are submerged front works fine - vise versa - the only thing you can't see from catch can behind headlight - R33 has drain back to sump with a light earles one way valve and a splash plate over cam's under oil filler cap PM if you need any more info Cheers
  14. So what was the days temperature, any idea on track temp, camber and toe settings We have been having the same issues with another tyre over here on V8 touring car only on hot days and extreme loads. Don't try and run the tyres again chords are broken If you are sure pressures were correct, pending on camber and toe settings, tyres look to have been very hot? - if not, I would say - its a tyre case issue
  15. Some history FYI Keith set time this time in 1992, and was actually faster than race times of 1000 runners Skaife & Richards won the Tooheys 1000 in R32 with a top ten time of 2.14.546 Johnson in the Sierra RS500 was fastest top 10 - 2.12.898 Not a bad time considering 2007 lap record still stands - Jamie Whincup 2.08.4651 and yes the chase has been in place in since 1987. Cheers
  16. Hi Chris Keith Carling - 300zx - 2.13.83 Cheers
  17. Hi all Off to Queanbeyan 1st Round 12th Feb 2012 Karen and I in the R33 Karens father in LC Torana and brother Scott in the Evo. Probably all be a bit steady as Karen and I have our wedding to attend to on the 11th. Looking forward to Bathurst double round on the 3rd and 4th March. Cheers S & K
  18. Car's preps going good - 3.25 diff is in, I have done tapets, throttle body set - all the oils changed, nut and bolt check. Finally located Tilton clutch to replace AP and Santa bought some decent Wheels, hoping to do a corner weight check prior to Bathurst as I have no data on corner weight since purchase. AND if I win lotto between now and then I will get it Dyno'd - our first Dyno for the AU!! Cheers Stuart PS - Our brand new R33 ENGINE REBUILD, that has been an issue since pickup, months ago, even following several re-tunes and builder rechecks, totally un-drivable! So for FIRST TIME I decided to have a serious play with Apexi and new HKS boost controller - as last tuner dumped the G-Reedy for some reason? Played today - made a few adjustments with cam/ign timing, fuel pressures - fixed a few boost leaks, up'd Apexi injector cycle slightly. Slowly sorting out HKS boost controller, up'd gain 50% and the car in a 750m run is the best it has been for twelve months. The best thing - its the first time you can actually drive along at 2500rpm's in 3rd and flatten it and it runs straight to 8500rpm with no compressor surge - not bad for Dash 10's. Considering new engine was down 50kws at all four, compared to old - things are looking up!! Cheers
  19. 20. Hi all Supersprinters - NSW Here's some PROVISIONAL ONLY UNTIL APPROVED BY CAMS STATE EXECUTIVE changes attached. Have your say - good to see time attack cars included - your thoughts on rules? Type 4 and SV interesting! Please voice your opinion to CAMs good or bad Sport & Club Development Officer [email protected] Cheers Vehicle_Regs_and_Rules_Changes.pdf 2012_Vehicle_Regs_Provisional.pdf
  21. Don't totally agree with rewarding the patient as it seems the impatient get the rewards Personally it would make a better time attack track than a race track I thought our governments plan was to get speed off the streets, so I spose this means cutting EC in half , so you get half the value for the money - really don't see this as an inticer. Wouldn't our taxpayers money be better off supporting Bathurst Extension (not only cause I am close), assistance to Wakefield Park or other venues sought as a permanant structure. Cheers
  22. Hi Roy 3000km engine service must replace roller lifters, valve springs and retainers - basic head service costs around $4,500 - $5K At the same time, set of brake rotors and pads - $4,500 Gearbox service and re-race diff also at 3000km's - $1500 6000km service is all of above plus set of pistons, rod bolts, stud kits, gaskets etc - $5k When required AP carbon clutch - $11K, dry sump pump, crack testing -spindles etc, new wheel nuts every twelve months, along with in tank lift pumps. Every two years recharge fire bomb, replace all wheel bearings. Thats the basics anyway Roy Cheers
  23. Bout time for you to get back to the track - and my mega buck taxi was on its last outing for us as a couple to prove itself - lol (I thought the skyline was a pain in the credit card) Don't get a used taxi!! Our plan - I will be running the taxi in Sports Sedan and you and Karen can share the skyline battle and hopefully with a few others from SAU? PS SAU Merry Xmas and Happy New Year Cheers
  24. Don't know about MRA rules - will have a look and be back, as far as heater goes, personally I would remove everything connected or looks like, (except oil cooler - unless you have good size front mount) as far as engine access and under dash (unbelievable). Instead of spending $600 plus on a screen - I found $30 camping (12v) hair dryer works great. Weighs I reckon less than half a can of rum, including metre of alloy ducting and switch. Good luck on carbon doors, but carbon boot and wing assembly feels about 1/2 the weight of standard. And for another couple of kilo's - if it is not registered, some plastic and light changes would be an option, with GTR guards - I leave plastic inner guard, as track debre trashes guards in no time on front. The next possibly, sill/side exhaust exit (keep it behind the door opening) but if you blow an engine or turbo you get your own oil first. Don't forget to replace front wheel bearings regularly for track work Cheers
  25. Hi All This is the 2012 track to be used for Aussie Hillclimb Champ's vids from in a taxi Hope you enjoy Cheers S & K
