Doesn't have to comply with CAMs spec , very few do, comply with CAMs rules and why should they - one doesnt - two don't nor do the rest - and as if they! are about to do anything about it the next decade! I think you will find most organisers are happy with FAI stamp these days We had a great time at SL, got some tune issues to sort on the link G4 system, we will be in club sprint 2011, hopefully both cars, (R32 & R33) maybe even a VZ taxi in open Heard a remour CAMs Actually now means Confederation of Australian Motorsports sux - what a shame! -

So whats the new car? On quicker tracks, the 33 has proven better in 2wd, but there also 1600kgs+ and aren't 35's around the 1850+ mark Did, earlier wish you the best Boz - still do - maybee see you in 2011. -
CAMs who - LOL - what? Whats CAMs done for club level motorsport in the last 5 years - zippo - we've got some later correspondence they are looking at making National Rules for Speed Events. Well LOL its been in the CAMs manual for 10 years. Heres a good heresay for you - if you are running Bathurst regularity in 2011 - if you break 2.35's pack up - piss off. CAMs rules!! I would consider if my Austin Wasp does 5 minutes 12 seconds that would be great, but if I happen to have an R33 that I expect 2.12's I would be pissed off. Dooh CAMs.

Shame, things didn't work out - apparently? 1.01.6 is slower times than R35 Duncan & Marek & our old R33 does, all road rego'd at Wakefield. Hopefully, the VZ's were sorted better for Homebush than Boz's clip? Any Clues Boz -

Both cars? -
I am with you Marlin, I started the thread - anyways - I just won Bathurst Supersprint and Hillclimb Speed Weekend in R33 under Sports Sedan class. My partner and good typist, ran our R32 in Type SV and got 2nd in supersprint and 1st hillclimb, Karen's a daily driver once a year at this event of late. Good to see Steve's - Torana, again got record for classes. I spose raises the question is this a step above Duncans no class record. Anyway if the R35s are keen Easter looks like fun in regularity 2S I'd say theres about 3 chances of getting a run. One starts with I am first, Fa, next Nc, So that means, if it goes ahead? It will be nice to have all you friends for accomodation that weekend - price negotiable! Cheers - register and have a go

You got that wrong, I think CAMs are already out of the equation by many. I am sure they have worked it out by registrations and renewals, you are correct that the clubs organise the event, this is the problem - if the club can't read the rule book and CAMs stamp it - people are gunna get peeed off. Its about time for an update

Was this a honda powered supercharged no roof less that 1000 kg car running in all class 2A, 2B 2F as previously explained wouldn't really class this as road registered under aussie rules as the car didnt comply for CAMs did somehow comply for QLD Aussie These days as an Aussie Champion not less than 10 times in hillclimb and supersprint, these trophys have all been chucked out the back shed cause they are not worth a squirt of piss - I don't give a rats if your running a V8 holden, 4cly Datto or an SV Spec car. CAMs have no control, the rules suck, if you can find someone that will make them eligable even if they are written in black and white - secondly, as far as most are concerned to contest an Australian Title, first you must have a recognised class to contest or defend, in QLD I was pissed to start with - glad I was'nt running 2F shopping car in the group. from what I read of CAMs supp regs, it states Hillclimbs and Supersprints must be run under speed event rules at state and national level I assume - doesn't say otherwise - I believe it also states Type 1,2,3, 4, 5 and SV How can it be so difficult for this to be done. Do we really need 25 historic classes in hillclimb or eg Type SV 1, 2, 3 4 as run in ACT apparently or we could go to QLD and SA and have more and more blah blah blah Surely we could go back to the basics of 1,2,3,4, 5 and SV even if they have to be split into levels 1 - 2 as per back in the 80's if you don't fit move on. And as far as slicks go if it has for racing purpose only put a cage in or put your roadies back on and church and shopping use only Cheers

All the best Bruce and John for the upcoming season. Cars look great. -
Once again, NSW Supersprint and Hillclimb rules aren't consistent, there both supposedly conducted under speed event rules - as per the CAMs manual - and when the rules are there, who gives a f%#$ if they are followed some entrants don't, CAMs don't, officials don't. Your'e totally correct Duncan, for Type 2, if its a V8 its basically free, non turbo. As I said previously I reckon CAMs days are numbered, whats the members getting? It's quite clear theres lots not happy, not just on this site! Its not about CAMs making everyone happy, its about making rules that cater for the majority / what year it is / and not changing the bloody things every twelve months excessively - firstly all states have to come into line - its bullsh&* to go to 3 states at national level and not even have classes consistent eg last years Aussie SS title couldn't be defended / contested this year the class wasn't even there. Exactly the same happened with the Aussie Hillclimb Championships in SA - title could not be defended / contested. Suxs hey, contact your state member - you won't get any answer anyway - but maybe we can make them aware - there is more of us interested in motorsport than those behind closed meetings, closed doors, closed surveys. Cheers

Hi Neil If you are waiting for an email from Doreen or Michael - you are better off buying a lotto ticket, we have sent several prior to Australian Hillclimb C'ship and again 6 weeks prior to Aussie Supersprint regarding rules - Doreen promised she'd get back - she did (2 days ago) and said she was still looking into it, although both events are long gone, also advised she was too have talks with John Bruning, bit busy organising the presentation night perhaps. Email below Hi Stuart, I cannot and will not speak for Michael, but I will for myself. I did not renege on my promise. I have in fact your emails in front of me and have been discussing your issues with John Bruning since the 1st email. He in turn I believe has been investigating the situation with the appropriate people. Given that I was very instrumental in bringing the concept of Supersprints to Australia, and my involvement on many levels since, I would love the opportunity to work on the Australia wide Speed and Race Panel, but since I am now an actual employee of CAMS, must wait for an invite by the Panel Chair to attend any Panel meeting. John Bruning will be back in the NSW office tomorrow, and I will discuss this further with him. Regards Doreen Maybe just as easy to ask the questions at presentation night. I'd like to know who issues the permits for these club, state national events with all the dodgy classes. Does CAMs have any control or are they just after the bucks?

Hi Brian Just for your reference on SV - Small Volume - as per your Small Volume Vehicles why is it 2006,07,08,09 and 10 note Type SV (Special Vehicles) Secondly I believe I was involved in getting this class going as was lodged through CAMs by Bathurst Light Car club many years ago Lastly we've been requesting this class now be changed for the past couple of years due to the non compliance of class, due to the original rules being left out in recent years. We have requested that it all be changed to a national rule of 2A and as per the CAMs manual would prefer if clubs nominate - Road Registered / Unregisterd For any national event I believe they must run or combine at a minumum a class from the CAMs manual. (Hopefully not half the manual as per QLD did this year) I think this is the only option left as hillclimb and supersprint panels are struggling and it is about time competitors could actually purchase or run a car in a competitve class PS Duncan - my national event trophys state Type SV Special Vehicle - whats your thoughts on SV going 2A registered / unregistered at least there is rules, not home made, every state, every track? Originally SV Rules state had to maintain original airbox and inlet manifold system, exhaust was free from turbo back, somebody must have made a typo - now its gone. I can get the rest of the rules but this is one example. Cheers
-
Yes its a bitta of a shame, worked my but off for 3 years getting new competitors for ss series, there all gone - I know of 6 plus not doing next year, closed doors - closed rules - closed out competitors - doesn't work. Cheers

I'd rather pass or wait for a chick having a go (1st timer) in a ford festiva, than a road block in a R35 - NOT Marrick or Duncan.
