  1. What did you do after that? With the bosch and a heavily modified cradle I can get it about 5 - 10 mm away from the bottom of the tank. Did you raise the height that the pump sits at? I really don't want to have to clean my tank again but the sock keeps getting clogged. Hoping that if I use this Walbro pump and raise it up higher that I won't have the issue anymore.
  2. Did you have to cut out that area in the tank where the cradle sits inside of? or atleast remove the plastic filter on the outside of that area so fuel flows in quicker? I've noticed both the Bosch 040 and Walbro sometimes struggle in high revs, I'm sure it's just more dirty in my tank, but while using my fuel pump to empty my tank for cleaning, I noticed both pumps can empty that area a tad quicker than it seems to refill when the plastic basket is on the outside ?
  3. I'll fit an LSD when my new tailshaft arrives which I've gotta pay for still. Factory under-car splash guards. Good for atleast another 8.5rwhp.
  4. Bumping up a 6 year old thread. I find them quiet under the radar until you hit slight boost, next set of lights, some VN commo wants a drag race.....smoke the motherf**ker, NEXT set of lights, he sits over a car length back in opposite lane. Yes, my car sounds funny at idle and when I take off it goes ACHUCHUCHUCHU, that doesnt mean your bog stock family car should start and lose a race against me. I kicked some Lancers arse the other night, at the next set of lights I put my window down and was like "hey man can we have a re-run?? I missed 2nd gear back there" - got a blank stare and he put all the windows up. DENIED! you picked the wrong car to f**k with racer boi! I too am guilty of chasing after old Camry's through traffic only to be let down by the realization it was NOT an A31 Cefiro.
  5. Turn one wheel in a direction, opposite wheel turns opposite direction. Open Centre FTL I know most 20DE Ceffy's had LSD but this one was indeed a 20E when I got it. Got an LSD at mate's place, still deciding if I can be f**ked doing the shims before I just top up oil and chuck it in.
  6. I was actually keen on parts off a C33 Laurel halfcut they had in their yard since the one I bought elsewhere had already been raped of all its factory manual goodies.

They do but too wide for the open centre diff to do skids in. clutch kick any revs below 4000 and it' just bogs down and launches, even when it does do a skid (ie forced first gear into 90 degree corner) suspension flexes up, demon camber comes on and skid is only 2inches wide (from a 9 inch tyre). Definately need to roll guards, slam it some more, wind out camber, and fit LSD / mech. UPDATE: Car fixed, cleaned fuel tank today and chucked in another 500hp pump, run's great, again, for now.
  8. Still not fixed Idled fine for 30 minutes, got out of my suburb and onto the highway and started all over again. Had to let it cool down 5 mins at a time every 2-3 km (without going over 2500rpm) to limp it home. Pic I snapped while waiting for it to cool down again.
  9. Found a slow point on the hose between the pump and the cradle, the top fitting on pump needs to be different so hopefully get it sorted tomorrow.
  10. 14 PSI, sweet. But then..... Replaced every hose clamp in the entire car with new aftermarket ones. Took me a while but looks neat and no more blowing off intercooler pipes. Next I painted the heatshields. Currently not running AGAIN due to brand new Bosch 040 overheating after any more than 15 seconds of use. Trying to rectify :\
  11. I need to remove those rubber things that go on the outside of the doors. Is it safe to just peel them off slowly or will it damage the paint? Reason I wanna remove is they're turning yellow and extremely dirty and can't be cleaned. Tips? Pointers? Full video walkthrough with pictures, music and boobs to keep me interested ? Cheers Nic

  13. Ask Nissan? You never know. Best bet would be to get something made up, odds of finding a A31 specific set is'nt looking good, and to be honest I don't think alot of people would've tried sets from other cars - Ceffies arent the kind of car most people'd put roof racks on. I've seen a set on ImportMonster ONCE, but it was a full moon and all the planets were aligned and shit.

  20. Isnt that one the fuel pump relay ? Just check the numbers and pin formation - color doesnt matter. I've got a bunch of spare relays off my halfcut, take some pics of yours and I'll see what I've got. I know the one in the boot is the same as the ones under the dash @ fuse box.

  22. Weird how everyone has different experiences with turbo's ..... All stock at the moment for me. K+N pod filter with a decent amount of cold air, apart from that she's all stock, even the exhaust. Keen to see how mine'll go with a 3" turbo back and a manual boost controller. Last night it also peaked at 11-12 PSI a couple of times for some reason. Couldn't con it into doing it again...I think 3 times it hit 12 then slowly dropped to 10 almost straight away.
  23. Something definately up here. Fixed my exhaust leak....it sounds less like a blower and more like a turbo and response is again even quicker. Light accel it'll stay off boost whole way through, under mid to heavy load it'll start spooling at 2000-2200 and tonight it regularly saw 10PSI at 3000rpm. Still kicks in a tad later than Rowan's old DE+T (although that did have other mods helping it out) but see's full boost around same revs. Still doesnt feel like DE+T torque curve either. Vids to come. (Was having a hard time trying to get boost gauge and tacho inside frame, and drive without crashing - gotta find a passenger )
  24. Exhaust leak rectified, turbo sounds normal again but responds even faster. Starts spooling as early as 2000-2200 and tonight it regularly saw 10PSI at 3000rpm. Doesnt FEEL like a DE+T but might very well be. Must run a compression test on it ASAP and find out.... Had a hard time trying to get a video of tacho, boost gauge AND not crashing, all at the same time...but will get around to it.
  25. Can't agree with the negative views here. With him, it was always "yeah I have it - come get it whenever" or "yeah i've got it - come take it off halfcut yourself or gimme an hour or so and i'll get around to it". Prices weren't great, they weren't shit either. Closest wrecker to me. Shame to see 'em go.
