Eletrical Fault With Auto Gearbox
Nic_A31 replied to Nic_A31's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
OK gearbox problems were independant, as for gear selection (or lack of) is ANOTHER problem. Narrowed engine problem down to crank angle sensor. Couldnt find an RB20E CAS so I got a RB30E CAS but doesnt fit RB20E dizzy, SO I'm on the hunt for an RB30E dizzy (you think theyd be easy considering the number of busted VLs and RB30DET builds getting around)...if the problem isnt fixed by next weekend, it'll be getting a new motor and manual conversion, thanks for a dangerously cheap factory turbo manual C33 Laurel halfcut that is for sale locally (if I cant find the little problem, i'll flush the f**ker out with a whole new running gear!!) But on a good note, the ceffy has a black interior the whole way through and I fitted a manual handbrake (with centre console and matching trim)....feels awesome sitting inside now, if only I could actually drive it. -
Both very good theories. We'll have to wait for the OP to spill the beans.

Rowan.... It's becoming quiet apparent you no longer drive a Nissan. Oh and plus one to HyperDrive, Andrew is the Fulliest Sikhest dardy white fella North of the River....

The reflection at the top right and middle of the picture would suggest the photo taker was behind glass, perhaps in a building with one or more levels.

Finally Got My Ceffy Registered In The Uk
Nic_A31 replied to Lum's topic in Four door and wagon builds
HOT. Get those rain guards tinted real dark (limo tint) and lower it a bit, then she'll be perfect. -
At the pits, they ask you to drive over, and there is a 100mm block fixed into the ground. So you're vehicle needs to be 100mm with YOU in it. Sure, and your body weight will make a difference. Piece of wood trick = useless.

I say starter motor connection.

Cracked windshield is a no no. Hope they don't notice it. Pic of reo bar http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/uploads...71619_thumb.jpg Mounts to the chassis, in front of the aircon, and behind the front bumper...it sevres as a mounting point for the bumper, resting point for the headlights and grill, and as protection in a crash (hence why cutting it is a stupid idea, not just for the sake of a 7000hp rated intercooler on a stock standard skyline, but for your own safety)

Got a manual centre console in a different trim, I'll do what I did with my main project, rip off the trim and apply the new trim over it. Because the auto console lid is longer/narrower, you can just take that stuff off, and tuk it in a little on the manual console without even cutting it. I'll post pics of that too when I get around to it. At the moment the Ceffy is sitting halfway across the driveway on a funky angle, with no crank angle sensor working

What's the fine ? Over East I've heard its $1000 on the spot and they confiscate it. Ouch

Fs: Dashmat For Cefiro
Nic_A31 replied to Dorigecko's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
$60 ... you mad flamin mongrel thats below cost!! -
I have aquired a factory manual Laurel handbrake cable setup, w00t w00t
-
I swear you guys can't read. jump on the DPI website and search maybe ? no, its better to ask on a forum.
-
Yep. Look up some Cefiro interior pics, the manual Ceffies just use a handbrake lever in the centre console, which is shorter, the auto ones use a pedal (where the clutch pedal would go) and a release lever on the centre console (which is taller & longer in the auto's).

the plugs are new timing is at 15 new splitfire coilpacks new walbro pump And he's checked the piping. ----- Try gapping the plugs. Could be fuel pressure regulator (on the rail), air flow meter, throttle position sensor, or ECU related. Make sure your wastegate isnt jammed or playing up....put mine back on once and it was trying to open 10PSI at idle....computer was having a very hard time working out what was going on.

There'es some workshop in Joondalup for vehicle inspections, and a mob in Forrestfield for anybody on here wanting to get their truck registered, they are a bit easier to rego but can't take off yellows. Mate had his chaser registered at Joondalup, offered a carton of piss but was still told to remove shit like coilovers and adjustable arms. There is speak of setting up more mechanical workshops the ability to do inspections to ease up the flow on the DPI centres. Doing it through these centres is still a two stage process, you still have to go back to DPI to get plates and pay for rego and shit....might as well do it all in the one place, alot quicker and easier.

That's a nice 2 litre you have there mate

Replied in your other thread.

All dependant interior light (dash cluster, dash switches, climate control, glovebox, auto shifter) are all on the same circuit as running lights/park lights. This is why it would only work when you're headlights were working (power is meant to be independant to illumination, read below) its possible that the power for the cigarrette lighter is feeding off the illumination for the ciggarette lighter. An intermittent breach in the circuit would explain fuse blowing only in specific circumstances. Brake lights will work, as the brake light circuit lights up both filaments anyway, headlights will work, but no park lights, and you wouldn't have interior lighting. there are two harnesses going into the cig ligher. the one in the middle is actually for illumination, and the smaller one beneath it (which you would THINK is for illumination) is actually for power) its common for connectors for either of those to snap easily. Check the wires within say...one metre, or if you can, trace them all the way to the fuse box, and see if they've been crossed over.

Eeeh my bad...dunno wtf I was trying to type there. DPI site says 1.5mm: http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/licensing/y...ehicle/1375.asp Being a Skyline, your car will be getting alot more things checked and probably taken for a longer drive than all the commodores/falcons/camrys/magnas there. When my Ceffy went over the pits the guy was gone for about 10 minutes....the Carolla in the line next to me got driven out the exit gate and straight back in through the entry, and was done (its inspection took about half the time).

meant to say THANKS dude. Thanks to Dan also.

Looks badass, maybe shorten it a tad though, like 2 in. or so. I LOL'd @ pic of your mate being hero with the shotgun.

10mm tread minimum, usually judge this by eye but will measure it if it looks close to the minimum. Won't care about exhaust, only noise. 91db is the maximum. Even "profesionally installed" front mount intercoolers almost always hack up the reo bar, hit and miss, you might get away, but don't be suprised if they pick you for it, its a structural part of your car and is designed to help protect occupants in a crash, so modifying it is frowned upon Sturt braces they won't care about, the pod filter they will be fine with UNLESS it isnt secured at 2/more points. White smoke will raise some eyebrows, does it go away after a while or is it constantly there?
