Foglights are not illegal but hated by the cops when misued, and can issue a fine + 1 demerit point. Switch for foglights is next to the mirror controls, right hand, up from the coin holder.

Rb25 Box Into Rb20 Cefiro
Nic_A31 replied to filo_a31's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I linked the tutorial for doing this swap in the sticky thread in the Cefiro section mate All is explained there -
What bout RB25 NEO ? I'm positive atleast one of the two is steel wheel. Besides I'm better looking so what I say makes more sense than you Toff.
-
Split dump pipe / down pipe is what I meant. Skyline factory blowoff valves arent very loud or ricey, they just make a "whoosh" kind of sound, and again, factory Cefiro turbo is ceramic wheel, boost surging back onto the compressor (making that gay ass flutter pidgeon noise) will eventually destroy the turbo at 11+ PSI, so before increasing boost (which opening up the exhaust will, slightly) it's a good idea to take some pressure off the compressor, or aleast get a steel wheel RB25 turbo which is up to it. If need be, get an eletronic boost controller, and just stay off boost when cruising around town.
-
Exhaust mods alone should increase boost from10PSI to 11-12PSI, any more than that, on a ceramic turbo, without a recirculating blow off valve is going to kill it...hence why I suggested a R32 plumbed-back blow off valve, and then RB25 steel wheel turbo.
-
Does yours have a blow off valve? If not, try and find a Skyline blow off valve, then, you can increase boost. Finding a RB25 turbo and using the RB20 actuator is ideal, stronger turbo with 10PSI. Given the cars age, Splitfire coilpacks might help. Aftermarket exhaust manifold and a " Split" dump pipe will increase low end response. Wish we had your laws here, no cat is awesome fun, especially with a Bee*R limiter. R34 side mount intercooler is a good upgrade if you dont want to hack the front bar to fit a FMIC in. Open up the intake a bit with a pod filter. Look in the tutorials in the Naturally Aspirated Performance area on this forum, couple of good write ups on how to make heatshields and cold air intake using a pod filter. Strut braces and coilovers might also help you out (rememebr since yours is AWD, you need R32 GTS4 or R32 GTR suspension and strut braces... NOT S13).

Yes but the sensors still differ between early and mid model A31, and R32 GTST. i believe late model Cefiro's have same wiring harness plugs and AFM as R32. My Ceffy was turned turbo, they used the 20DE loom and everything on it, even the air flow meter, and just swaped in the bare motor...when I got an R32 AFM it didn't fit the Cefiro plug.

Eletrical Fault With Auto Gearbox
Nic_A31 replied to Nic_A31's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Gearbox seized up this arvo. Manual gearbox in the Ceffy in the shed dropped half its oil supply out of the output shaft on attemped removal. Floor jack slipped, denting in oil sump on 20DET, and droping entire engine+gearbox weight into steering rack and lines. Ready to throw in the towel again. -
ECU is fit, accessories (near the ECU plugs) are different. Engine acc. are different as well, shit like angle sensors, AFM, etc

Ooooh, sorry I misread.sa Um, GTS use single piston brakes ? so I think these use a banjo bolt similar to S13 calipers, where as the 4 piston calipers have that metal line, flared fitting, and an olice flange inside the caliper. Where do you plan on getting the lines from? Perth Brake Parts should have a GTS specific set, otherwise take your set in there and they can make braided lines off that.
-
I do believe GTS is 4 stud, possibly smaller rotors? but they are slotted rotors? GTS-T is 280mm rotors, 4 piston calipers (front), and 5 stud.

Eletrical Fault With Auto Gearbox
Nic_A31 replied to Nic_A31's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Make yours manual and cut a sunroof into it, and I'll consider. f**k taking it to a workshop, especially a jap work shop, even if they sponsor hot young females like Carla.....flamin mongrels will be all like "aww but the ceffy is pretty rare, this'll be a hard one to fix, 9 hours labor, and you'll need new spark plugs too, thats $200 because we have to order them from Japan"...you know its true Rowan! No. More suggestions please -
Hey guys, Beforehand let me say I'll be doing manual swap on the daily Ceffy as soon as I've got all parts ready to go, but until then my auto box is getting a little bit confused. 9/10 it will start up, flash only the HOLD light, as it drives it will take off from second, and only use second and third gears, switching to HOLD will light it up on the dash, switching to POWER doesnt light up on the dash and driving stays the same. Even in this mode of driving, selecting 1 with the selector, it uses second gear only, 2/D/D w/ OD off, uses third, even at 120kmp/h + Sometimes however, it will start up, flash both lights, and use all gears, obviously HOLD works as per normal, and POWER does work. Power/all gears working doesnt sem to be temperature related, works hot and cold if it wants to. Once it starts with power, it stays that way, it doesnt lose the gears. Have replaced the hold/power switch, and checked the computer, nothing. I'm assuming this is an eletrical issue, somewhere between the switch and the computer, or post computer, telling it to STAY in second and third only, for some reason, believing it is being told by the switch that it needs to. Suggestions on where I can look to quick fix this ? Could be resorting to this car as daily driver, so having all gear ratio's will be incredibly handy for fuel economy (4th gear at 100 is 2300rpm )

Hiii lol OK lol here we go The foglights are usually disabled during compliance or by previous owners because cops hate them, overe here in WA its a big on the spot fine. Check theb ack of the switch and make sure the bulbs are connected to the wiring harness. ROFL That brake light on the dash is meant to indicated a breach in the circuit, mine used to do it even with all brake lights working, I tidied up all the wires and checked the connections and its all good now, it sometimes does it when its cold then goes away by full running temp. LMAO Post pictures of said switch. Sounds like the mast on the front bumper (ariel sort of thing on the front bumper that can be switched up and down, for short people that cant park for shit) or could possibly be the ariel raise/lower switch (but this is always on the centre console arm rest part). Whats with all he lols dude ...?

Hey guys, Looking at converting my Cefiro to manual handbrake (handbrake setup initially, then will do manual gearbox another weekend). Which parts of R32 handbrake cable do I need/ Do I need: Just the single cable from the handbrake lever, up to where it joins the other 2 cables or As above, PLUS the two individual cables that run accross to the hubs ? Have searched, no avail. I'll be taking pictures during the swap, and hopefully can make a writeup for this section, to go in stickies.

Wtb: Auto Gear Selector/stick
Nic_A31 replied to rayj's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Looking to do the conversion ASAP as either the auto box or the ECU is playing up now. I'll let you know as soon as I'm good to go. As for price...make an offer -
Nooo. I painted up the other one today in Nissan 362 (crystal/arctic white), looks good painted white. i think it'll look better with an auto trans fluid cooler off to the side , the other one is also longer at the lip and flares out more.

I have it in mine, pending manual swap. Can either sell it to you later on, or if you have R32 handbrake setup, swaps for that ? (with cash adjustments) -
Not true. Depending on the plant (or less specifically, to "japanese cars", which area of Japan they were assembled) some are more prone to rust than others. For the most part, Nissan production plants were good, but do some searching, on here somebody said something about one of Nissan's plants being close to the ocean and having a high concentration of salt in the air ? I dunno, something, cars out of that plant always have rust spots and paint turns shithouse after a few years.

both bumpers are in pretty shit shape, I'm gonna throw the factory bumpers on, from my project Ceffy IMO these look better anyway, with the two vents to the side, rather than one big opening. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/up...-1247910577.jpg
