Bosozoku Shakotan Aus Style!
Nic_A31 replied to shakotan-cefiro's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Should start up a build thread in the Members / Their Rides section in this forum. Start off with specs and "before" pics (or picture progress up until now) That's what I did, I'm ages away from being finished yet....easier to stay motivated when you can look back at all the work you've done soo far. -

Oh...and even with heavy duty clutches its not too different. I had been on my manual license my about a year when I got the Ceffy with a heavy duty clutch, I stalled 3 times on the day I got it, and once after that reversing up my gravel driveway and that was it...When I jump in mates' cars with heavy clutches I struggle a bit, because the point of engagement is almost always different, as is stiffness, but again, bit of practice and you're all good. -

Doesnt take too long to get the hang of manual. <6 weeks after driving manual for the first time I passed my test (already had my auto license) Getting the hang of clutches is tricky at first, then its easy. -

Japan would love some of their R33s back....we could start up some auction houses here in Aus and the Japs could bid on them.....I'm giving you people a free idea to make MILLIONS!!

Cefiro with R33 GTR Rims

Were Greg's rims yes. Zinc Coaters in Welshpool are doing anodising, they work day and night, and are on the next street parallel to my work, so easy to get to Pads, dunno, at this stage, all the Nissan pads I've got have plenty of meat left on them, but will upgrade to something a little better later on.

Thanks. R33 GTR Rims...I got 4 with tread for a VERY good price, these should be for the other Ceffy, but I couldn't resist, had to test fit them in the shed tonight, PERFECT offset and width. In other news, I rang the nearest sandblaster in the Yellow Pages today....asked for a ballpark figure to blast all 8 calipers I'm doing.....cost?....carton of beer. Legend!! Anodising is going to cost me about $150 for all 8 Seals are $100 for per set of calipers, so $200 all up for me.

Yours indeed has an Origin kit, I believe same as Wonder. A31 Cefuro Autech Edition (this differs between Series 1 and Series 3) (later models have a bar in the middle of the opening, and are slightly larger) URAS (AKA Monkey Warehouse) (The difference being URAS is a plastic kit, Monkey Warehouse (seperate company) is a fibreglass copy. Diana East Bear All I can think of at the moment...there is picture thread on this forum somewhree, but I remember half the pics not working (outdated). ImportMonster or Nengun can probably ship kits to you.

It would have been quiet at 4, since you're advised on their site not to show up after 3:30

Car WasH ... my bad

Welshpool and O'Connor work on a first in first served basis and open at 07:30....I rocked up at 06:00 and was out by 09:00 or 09:30, can't remember, was only one car in front of me. All centres treat you about the same and they're all busy, especially busy with hail damaged cars flooding through. Stop into a car was before you go, and give the engine bay a massive spray (its begging for one ...)

Its a forum dude, if you can't handle my opinion without telling me to leave your thread, how are you going to handle someone's opinion out on the street without telling them to leave your carpark? You said it was "very low" (not to mention 'Bosozoku'...anybody riding above 25mm is beheaded by the Bozu God during some f**ked up sacraficial ceremony, or whatever their deal is there...) and said you believe drift is all about the damage. As Rowan said, you're paying attention to aesthetics like lip spoilers, guards, kit? and what's this about on oil cooler ON the front bar? Is drift still all about the damage when your cooler and half your oil supply is at the last corner .... ? The only area's of suspension/handling you seem to have given attention is the ride height ? how did you lower it anyway? Hardcore drifting is going to require something a bit more than factory, 20 year old suspension. Finally, I don't want to sound like the "big brakes and 5 stud troll" I'm getting a rep for, but with an RB30DET, you need to consider something that stops a car (especially a rediculously lowered car) alot quicker than old single pot brakes. You can ignore all those points, but odds are you'll be snapping castor rods on a weekly basis until you drift it into something that doesn't give way to a 1200kg vehicle and f**ks it up, badly (and permanently) -

How old are you.....? and no offense...but are you on crack? Seriously the impression I'm getting is you're going after some backyard job S13 style Ceffy project, you're hacking the car up all over and doing half assed shit, and you want to drift a car that sits 20mm off the ground rolling on 10x10 rims with stretched 160s and WANT attention in a car that most people mistake for a Camry, by building a 3L motor and keeping drift damage ? What The f**k ? Each to their own, but if "readily available parts' are on your priority list you really should have started with an S13/R33/VN Commodore.... -
A31 Boot/fuel Lid Release Lever/cable + Boot Latch

Neither the cable or any mechanism has any direct replacement according to Nissan. Gotta find a replacement the hard way I guess...go looking :\ -
Cefiro A31 1988
Nic_A31 replied to Nic_A31's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Test fitted new coilovers and hubs today, coilovers go all sweet....worried about lack of thread at the strut tower when the strut brace is on, see how she goes. Hubs are having some issues rubbing against the brake dust shroud, but I've gotta take those off anyway, for the larger rotors. Restarting on the brakes (having issues with paint not curing properly no matter how many times I try). Once next pay day hits, they're off for some sandblasting, then anodising, then I'm going to rebuild them with new seals, then they should be good to go with some braided lines. Will post pics of each stage of progress on that one. Dinally dived back into it today, rear cradle is out, getting bushes changed, an epic clean and new coat of paint, and the diff needs a service badly. Managed to split a CV boot bringing it down Otherwise not much else progress is happening, have been busy with the other Ceffy which passed roadworthy last Monday and shall be getting plates sometime this week. Dug up another picture of the week it arrived, next to my old Maxima. -
Rear cradle dropped for service, bushes and maybe a respray. Front coilovers test fitted with strut brace. 5 Stud hubs test fitted.... Restarting on the brakes. Getting them sandblasted, then anodised, then going to have a crack at rebuilding them with new seals. Will add pics of each stage as it occurs.

Will do when I find time and enough boredom to justify searching it in FAST. FAST has a crossover function, put in a part code, assign its part number, then search for alternates and alternate sources....legend little program.
