Cefiro A31 1988
Nic_A31 replied to Nic_A31's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
On all the non turbos...like this one once upon a time, they have markers and trace lines in the panel, to show where to cut circles for the intercooler pipes to enter and exit the engine bay...despite this, Queenslanders/New South Welsh/Eastern Staters, STILL managed to f**k this up badly. Here's before pics, and today's progress on the matter. I dunno who the f**k calls that cutting...certainly not me. They're meant to be neat circles... I cut the panel out in two squares. I got a sheet of metal, stuck it up with some pop rivets. Oncei t was mounted firm, I cut the holes out I blended the difference with a metal fibre bog. Then, sanded it back, and gave it some primer. Its still very bumpy...so it will need some more sanding, some putty and evening out, then it'll be sweet. -

Dug up another picture of R32 brake fitment. modified R32 calipers to receive SR (A31) Banjo Bolts...can fit these now, pending spacers. Will also try and get some braided brake likes to reduce spongbob brake pedal.

A31 Conversion, Legal Requirements Qld
Nic_A31 replied to VRdrift's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Dan_J is having this problem. Nissan part numbers claim that the Ceffy brakes are ALL the same, turbo, non turbo, etc...which are variant to the SR20DET brakes. Dorigecko has a registered RB25DET Cefiro, with stock Ceffy brakes, because they're "turbo model brakes" the engineer signed it off. Personally, I think the stock single pot brakes suck the biggest, gayest balls imaginable....4 piston brakes for the win.....no really...they pull up WAY better. They'll be more lenient when it comes to registration if they can see you've gone the extra distance with brakes. -
Uhmm...the indicator/headlight stalk and the harness for it are completely independant bar two screws that mount it.....do you mean self cancelling indicators ?
-
Correct that, genuine from Nissan, $125, link here...shipping cost unknown. http://www.justjap.com/store/product.php?productid=17666

You'll need to replace the whole cable. That white plastic bit is part of the casing at the end. I think I paid $15 for a cable from a wrecker...otherwise they're around the $130 mark geuine, from Nissan.

Parts sticky thread...use it people! S13 non HICAS will fit both A31 and C33.
-
Wonder if they'll do this to railway crossing camera's too.

I'm free anytime tomorrow and most of monday, free most afternoons after 5:30 or so, so just SMS me whenever. I'm pretty sure the spare master switch that came with my project Ceffy can be fixed if yours needs replacing. I don't drink beer, so you'll have to try harder than that What do you mean ALL the help I've given ?...half the time over the last year and a bit I've had a Cefiro(s) I've been the one asking for help... No...you've mentioned replacing the Ceffy with a Jazz, JZX100, Scooter, Bike, Plane, Tank...the list goes on....do show pics of the new vehicles please.

Anyone Know Where To Buy Skyline Stickers?
Nic_A31 replied to Touge Kyousou's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Buy the actual badge from Nissan -
Driven the car around with the clearance like that ?
-
No idea mate...never had to do it on my manual Ceffy...Will be doing it on my auto at some point...Depends what cable you use...R32 cable and all the other parts, couple of hundred bucks, tops....genuine cables arent expensive either, just depends wheather Nissan will buy import parts or not...here in Perth some Nissan dealers refuse to.

Knock out the trim under where the auto handbrake release level would be, and run the manual handbrake lever through...like I said, there is a gap, so it does look a little dodge but better than nothing until you find a manual centre console. Parts sticky thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/A3...anual+handbrake Info on manual handbrake http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=3363140 Cable http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ha...anual+handbrake R33 Centre console, tutorial http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ce...=centre+console

^^ A little off topic..... The other night I managed to successfully fit R32 brakes under my stock 15" Ceffy rims. Dangerous clearance though, pics here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ceffy-t321677.html

R32 handbrake Lever. R32 (modified) or A31 handbrake cable R32 / R33 centre consoles can fit with mods, but it doesnt match up....use A31 centre console if possible.....some people use the original auto centre console and run the handbrake lever through the opening....the gap between the lever and the edge of the opening is PERFECT size for a 600ml milk carton, ie Iced Coffee/Choc....that worksi f you want a cup holder (well...carton holder) R32 clutch and brake pedals. If you want more info, search....it has been covered in here about a billion times. Also some info in the parts sticky thread. C33 = identical to A31

I figured it was you because you started some stickies ... or just the parts thread ?

"Even the mechanic at workshop" So mechanics know more about eletronics than electricians now ... ?
-
Rebuilt your current calipers, braided lines, new pads, drilled/slotted rotors, new fluid. That'll do.
-
It looks like it comes up a little higher than my manual console (yes, mine isa proper manaul console, not an auto turned manual console)...maybe I'm just tripping out? Mine is black, and its covered in all sort s of shit in a dark shed so it probably naturally looks smaller....
-
80/100 ... same same.... well...not anymore. You know what I meant. On highways, or big main roads, they have pre-amber warnings.
-
.........f**king LOL @ noob arguing with qualified auto electrician about (lack of ) fuse apparently causing explosion and/or flames. Yet another classic SAUWA moment.
-
Whats with your "Bride centre console" it looks different but looks like a Ceffy centre console ? More pics!

Aquired R32 4 pot calipers, slotted rotors (multi stud pattern), Standard R33 rotors, R33 calipers and R34 5 stud rear hubs w/ bearings. Pending brake lines and rego before they go on, I test fitted the front calipers with the stockies and 3mm slip on spacers. IT CLEARS....JUST. The rim somehow free-spins without grinding...but have a look at this pic, Definately not going to risk it, there'd be less than a 0.25mm clearance in there....need bigger spacers or different rims, or wait till I turn the front 5 stud .... but since i got multistud rotors, I can retain 4 stud and just use some slip on spacers in the mean time.
