What Are These Beneath The Cefiro Dash?
Nic_A31 replied to huddy's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
1. Left to right CD Player - i believe this is for steering wheel controls or something...plugs into factory deck, but aftermarket harness adapters dont utilize it. Does NOT control antenna, lighting, dim lighting, etc....assuming its for controls. CD player, main harness (yellow = 12v, red = acc, blue = antenna) Light for cig lighter, or ashtray....or it might be the harness for a lead that connects into that, and lights up the PRND21 for Auto's. 4: Dash cluster (speedo, tacho, etc) 7: One of the modules under the steering collumn...that might be time control module (responsible for locking doors when moving), turns light on the roof on when a door is open, emmits door open light on dash, etc. 8: That's the little f**ker that beeps @ 105+ kmp/h. Located same plase as #7 Not to be confused with the reverse beeper/door locked/open + keys in ignition/lights on beeper (which is behind the far right air con vent. 9: Same location...not sure, this would be another time control module, door locks maybe. I've read that cutting these can cause problems with central locking / alarm arming, and confuse the ECU with HICAS shit somehow. Best to leave those little ones except the speed warning connected. 10: I beleive is a relay for air con ? Now then, post pics of drifter or ban -
Firstly...that Cefiro is quiet possibly one of THE hottest I've seen yet. The cooler should mount from the top and hang. Like I said, if its to suit A31 it should have brackets so little-to-no cutting is required. Typically with left side return flow, it doesnt sit higher, the return flow pipe sits lower. This might be awkward as you've cut the bottom section of your bumper. Measure it up and compare it to your current intercooler

I said advertise, not supply.

You didnt expect TKO to ADVERTISE illegal tint on their website now did you ? TKO will do it. You only get away with it because R34s have stained glass, dont you? otherwise you wouldn't have passed pits (or it would have been removed on compliance)
-
If its made for A31 it won't need hacking. A31 Specific intercoolers are hard to come by, I'd imagine it'd be to suit the Autech bar, not the regular bumper, as the Autech is more suited for an intercooler. With that said, the Autech leaves MORE room below and around the reo-bar, so odds a little-to-none that you'll be needing to cut anything up. I'll have a search around for pics later on, there are some on this forum (or another one?) somewhere...

Rb20 Manifolds On Rb25 Head?
Nic_A31 replied to grunter01's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Intake no, port size is different, I believe RB25 ports are more oval shaped. Exhaust manifold, not sure, as far as I know they're the same. -

What was the climate control out of ? -
Hard lines don't really go by strut towers or wheel arches though. Firewall (according to parts thread) is same as R32)...they run along the firewall then drop down to the chassis rail and then breach the wheel arch, the rears go down the firewall and run along the inside of the right chassis rail, then seperate when they reach the cradle. Strut towers are wheel arches are closer together than S13....AWD Cefiro's can probably get away with R32 solid lines, to say the least. Wonder if anyone has done it ? I need to make some new ones up for mine, was just going to use the old bolts, some tube and get a tube bender.

Tell ya what... Because I'm a top bloke...and very good looking, PM me your address and I'll burn a copy of FAST onto a DVD and post it to you, comes with setup instructions and all the fruit.
-
Is for real, the rears in my new ceffy have a tab at the top for the dampener, but I cant see any wiring or the switch in the car to show it was ever there, probably just replaced standard rear suspension with stuff off a model equipped with it....A31s were all advertised as having 'supersonic' suspension. I've got a copy of FAST so if you want I can look up shit like part numbers.

Buying 1st Skyline Interstate?
Nic_A31 replied to ViewerTerra's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
When transferring interstate it needs an inspection in that state. Triple plate clutches arent illegal but if you don't have bigger cylinders and/or a booster, it'll be very very difficult to drive and isnt likely to pass inspection. If you haven't had experience with such clutches before you'll definitely find it difficult at first, but doesn't take too long to get used. -
Box in driver's kick panel (opposite to the ECU) is the auto gearbox computer. That KYB one should be for the eletronic suspension / dampening ??

Yeah but the translations on ImportMonster are done on the spot, so 9 times out of 10 they barely make any sense (enough to understand but very very broken).

ImportMonster Nengun

Keep your dick in your pants cupcake. You don't have to like it...you don't have to slag it off soo much either.
-
You can register the car into your own name without a license. I was the registered owner of my first car for 7 months before I got my license.
-
Isnt the R32 wider? and shorter? in terms of how far the hard lines have to travel to meet up with the hoses?
-
Depends what tools you can fit in there without taking the dash out, and depends how adjsutable the collumn is on 34s. When I replaced the barrell on the Ceffy, on the bottom one I used the drill to unwind it by wedging the drill bit in between the bolt and the hole...but couldnt do that with the upper bolt, and not enough clearance for screwdrivers/chisels to get in there.
-
Like I said man, security bolts...the only way to get them off is with a drill...they don't have a pattern in the head for a screwdriver, they're rounded off. Look up security / sheer bolts. It's alot easier to get the door locks out...the boot lock is probably the easiest of them all. The barrel is in with sheer bolts so it can't be stolen, so it shouldnt be "easy" to remove. I still don't get why you think cutting a key is half assed, even give Nissan your VIN number and they can get a key already cut (if they have that VIN on index).
-
You can use a worn out key to trace a new key to be cut. I did this two weeks ago, and the newly cut key comes out just as sharp (it wont be worn like the 'trace' key). Not sure about the 34s, assuming it's the same as my Cefiro, it's a BITCH of a task. Dash out, unplug alot of wiring around the steering collumn, and drill through / extract 2 security bolts. My suggestion: Use the worn out key to cut a new one, it'll be fine.
-
ROFLOLMAO That is all.
-
Take a look at that link I posted...they had a thing that just sat on the dash and scanned in by itself, back then...by now they'd have plate recognition or built into dash that you can't even see.

Japan is 10 years ahead of us in technology. In 2000, the ETC in your Skyline would have been the bee's knee's start of the art niftiest shit ever. A decade later "ours" might be smaller than that, but Japan would have even smaller, faster and smarter ones by now haha
