Appears my smear campaign on that asshole Toffy is working and I'm one vote ahead haha Everyone has suggested both of us, so how about we both do it? since its such a big massive job and too much for one bloke to handle.

Stock dump pipes have the same texture as your exhaust / turbo housing. Most aftermarket pipes are polished, just go get a can of VHT high temp for headers (about 1000 deg C), about $13 or so, easy fix. New exhausts are favored at the pits, and aftermarket dump pipes arent illegal (unless they're screamer pipes obviously), so as long as it looks newer than factory and doesnt look like cheap bling shit they'll see it as a good thing.
-
^^ mis read his question. 1: what he said. Downpipe will bolt up to the bottom of the dump pipe no drama's. 2: Depending on who you get they might still see it has a boost controller from looking at the wastegate actuator line. depends how much attention theyre paying. If its all painted black and nothing is standing out, you can probably pull it off, aaand like I said, alot easier with a manual boost controller, no line running back through the firewall.
-
1 No. high mount dump pipe won't mount up to a low mount turbo + manifold. 2 Yes, ability to modify a vehicles performance on the move is very frowned upon. Same as coilovers, since you can leave the pits and wind the boost back up, you MIGHT pass with a manual boost controller, but be prepared to have to take it off. 3 Yes legal, provided you havent hacked up your reo bar. 4 Paint it matt black, use black hoses, etc and you shouldnt have any drama's. No bling. 5 Since you'll need to remove the boost controller, just use a stock BoV over the pits, the revert back to whatever you want. Get a GTR one fitted later on if need be, say away from massive shinny aftermarket ones, they look and sound like shit.

Have seen them before on an R34...trying to remember who's it was though... It depends what you buy...if its just the plastic face of the gauge, you just take the speedo/tacho/etc needles off, new face on, needles back on and recalibrate it...if you swap the entire cluster, the odometer is an independent unit that can be swapped into the new cluster, or there easy ways or changing the odometer reading itself.

Hot. Nice dish Is that a late model? Grille looks a bit different to the rest.
-
That looks hot man. Where are the white faced gauges from ? are they aftermarket or were they like that on some R32 s ? Are those lights in the footwell full time? or only when door is opened ?

OK lets give it a few days and see how it goes, at the moment its Toffy - 2 Nic_A31 - 2 Italian, not Greek

When I had a snapped stud it sounded exactly like that. Just hover hand over exhaust until you feel heat than narrow it down. Hopefully its a gasket.
-
Gasket, or giving it some juice might have snapped an exhaust stud (suddenly heating it up then cooling down in traffic). Gaskets are easy, snapped studs are arseholes to get out, depends which one it is though.

What you see in the pic was the worst of it, provoked. I scratched away at it to make sure all the rotten stuff was out, the inside of the door was all good, just had to vacuum out all the small bits of rust. Bogged it up and its all sealed now. Theres a few other rust spots in the paint, like on the boot, under both side mirrors and in the middle of the roof at the windshield but they but they only look like surface rust for now, hopefully they dont breach in.

Cefiro A31 1988

Havent updated this in a while. hve picked up another Ceffy to get around in, had a small amount of attention needed. RB20E, auto. Seemingly genuine 76xxx kms, some weird cloth interior, sunroof. The seller fixed up a crashed in bumper and got it running, that left me with a rust spot on the rear right door, and the front right guard needing attention. Rust spot has been bogged up, primed and painted...color definately doesnt match but it doesnt pull anywhere near as much attention. Guard still needs fixing which will be done soon, and Thursday she's getting an alarm. I'll be temporarily (or perm?) putting my HSD coilovers into this, and registering it with the 20E and auto gearbox, but hopefully getting the 20DET and manual from my bigger project out and into this one. As for the bigger project, I've barely looked at it lately, changed a few bushes but still in the process of changing every single bush front to back :\ Fitted a Cusco strut brace, and got R32 GTST wheels waiting to go on (need to change tyres to keep speedo in sync), also about to pull the engine and box. Pics include initial condition, rust spot, and injury I sustained when I gripped the wrong end of a stanley blade which left me bleeding (quiet a lot) for well over an hour and a 3-4mm slit into my index finger, which is still recovering, 2 weeks later. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/po...100413-1716.jpg http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/po...100418-1231.jpg http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/po...0100418-1757.jp -

I'd be up for it, but figured it was out of the picture with a warning on my name. But then again, my name means "Victory of the People" in Greek, so I should automatically be entitled to powerfull rights. Shan, didnt realise you were a mod on here...thought there was only the guy who used to own [CEFFY].

It is quiet, but there has been some well off topic chit chat lately, some multiple (same) posts, and the parts substitute sticky hasnt been updated in a while. I think the Cefiro Parts Classifieds is moderated by someone else again ? If you want it'd be sweet, it'd be stuff all work for whoever is designated.
-
This section desperately needs a new moderator to clean up double posts, update stickies, add some stickies, etc. Who's up for the job ? and who do we contact once we've nominated a poor bastard for the job ?

No offence but why do you want a GTR if you want reliability and no issues? There is a good reason they have a bigger engine, twin turbos, thicker sway bars, stiffer suspension, carbon fibre parts, less interior, etc. Perth of all places, if full of muppets who know sweet FA about what theyre driving, they'll happily thrash the shit out of their cars, but have no clue how to fix it when it breaks - I can safely say this applies to SAU, WA and even a few in this thread. Good luck finding a good condition GTR, with low kms, treated nicely, for those prices. RE: changing oil pumps as soon as you buy a car ? ...yeah what the f**k? you know how much money that costs (/time it takes if you do it yourself) ? If something is about to throw in the towel you should be able to pick it up when you see the car running or drive it. RE: Shipping from over East to here, vehicle carriers like CEVA do have prestige service, where your car travels in a container the whole way, and they use longer run-up ramps or lower vehicles, etc. it's an extra grand or two...not alot comapred to a $30k-40k car.

cheers dude

Just give them shit back. "Whats the point of having a little dick when you're never going to get laid anyway??"

I'd assume the fronts follow the same fashion. Likely listed in Bendix catalogues as Cima, same same as A31 Cefiro but I do beleive A31/C33 front is exactly the same as SR20DET ? (there is some arguement about this). Regaring direct bolt ups, S13 calipers would bolt up directly anyway, as should any Nissan caliper, R33 GTST and Z32 being the favorites. Otherwise just take the whole knuckle assembly with 5 stud hub off something else and do a big 5 stud brake upgrade. - Do these use the same rear cradle as A31/C33/R32, etc ? Looks a tad weird to me...

Hey folks, What can be used on ABS models in the way of strut braces ? I picked up a Cusco one today that runs back a couple of inches away from the firewall, fits perfectly on my main project, but not on my new one with ABS.

Yes and no. 5th gear in manual transmissions is also a higher ratio than 1:1 as well
-
Final drive / 4th is a higher ratio than 1:1 so technically it doesnt count as a gear, which makes the box a 3 speed + O/D + Reverse You can also splice into the transmission loom at the ECU end and do it that way.
-
CONFIRMED: 1 = 1ST 2 = 2ND D (O/D OFF) = 3RD D (O/D ON) = 4TH

Nissan FAST lists the part codes the same, but part no. lookup usually brings back different. My copy of fast lists the same part code for A31 fender and R33 fender ...definately not the same. Pics of lever 'mod' w/ R32 cable? Keen to see.
