Ericjayrol's Nissan Skyline R34 25gt
Nic_A31 replied to Ericjayrol's topic in Four door and wagon builds
Nice. Specs ? -
Thank you good sir, a million. I'll check this out as soon as I can. +1 measurements would be great, or even a side by side picture? Boxes probably are the same length but maybe the shifter on the box sits differently between the two ?

Your points will be taken into cosideration I think 10 seconds is too little before you can put the engine into a situation where RPMS will vary and pump oil faster/slower. With clumps of cold and warm oil, surely reving it up will mix circulating oil and have some nasty effects. I'd think 30-60 seconds. Especially for automatic transmissions (not applicable here, but anybody who's cold started an auto and just driven will know what I mean) R34s have ceramic turbos ? Even Ceramics are fine under factory setup boost, they can handle a little more and should die unless you've got a blocked blow off valve. HICAS is only a problem if you're trying to slide it around corners, even then it doesnt take a genuis to learn how it feels and work around that, and I'll speak no more And yes, expect to be pulled up alot more than if you were driving a Camry, just keep your car legal and be polite+/mature+/smart and you'll be fine.

Only this one and Antilag dude.

Where the f**k did you get my Facebook profile picture Rowan ? Thus one justn eeds to go over the pits and I'm not gonna touch it, at all. If I had more money to play with I'd buy yours but then again, no sunroof, no care I just want a cheap easy bunky to get me around so I'm not relying on my company car all the time. I miss having air con, and 0-100 in <30 seconds.

There's a few. Silver one (KH02 is the color code) A Maroon one with black bumpers. Dark brown colored one. Pearl Pink one w/ RB25 FROGGAH's one is still registered I believe ? Couple of white ones. All these guys never use forums though. I'm gonna pick up an unregistered RB20E Auto Ceffy this arvo - if I get that registered in time am I welcome? or is this cruise >110kw only ?

Where To Get R33 Brembo's Refurbished In Perth?
Nic_A31 replied to 4Pot's topic in Western Australia
Do Perth Brake Parts repaint / anodize calipers as well ? -
Turbo's: If you've been belting it hard and then suddenly want to park it up and leave it, let it idle for 30 seconds. Turbo timers do this automatically for people who drive like that, and for people who want to look cool by having a sick 700rwkw street car that turns itself off after 90 seconds. 30 seconds, TOPS, no matter how long the turbo timer thinks the engine needs to cool down. If you've been driving normally for the last 5 minutes of the drive, don't bother. Cold starts: Always let the car reach full running temperature before driving it. If the car has been turned off for an hour or two it doesnt really matter, since oil takes hours to cool down but overnight for example, definately run the car for 5+ minutes. And just service it on time every time, drive it nicely, all common sense.

Yeah, the chassis rails are different length apart as well arent they? (A31 is closer to S13 Chassis) and the Ceffy crossmembers comply with S13 Radius Rods and sway bars.
-
Wtb: Ceffy Front Sway Bar.
Nic_A31 replied to raZ1911's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Dude is after a sway bar, not a strut brace. -
That wouldn't pull the gearbox forward though, it would tilt it down, but surely wouldnt pull it that far forward without side effects?
-
Sure. Jimmah can come too, like on Antilag, he can just blend in with all the "Toyota Camrys"....
-
This might be why the car had the wobbles before. The engine appears to be sitting normal but I'll have a deeper look at both crossmembers and the mounts. Cheers fella's Any help identifying RB30 box will also be appreciated
-
Yeah I was under the impression the 25 boxes were middle in the centre are and wider, but the same length, hence the same driveshafts and shit. Box is mounted up to the engine all sweet, gearbox crossmember doesnt look out of place, driveshafts are fully connected, etc Dunno whats up ... :\

Correcting one link, Brake Upgrade This is a comparison of the stock brakes and the ones I upgraded to. Apart from the notable size difference, the stock brakes are single pistons on each corner, the R33 calipers are 4 piston fronts, 2 piston rears, which should help along with the bigger booster. New Master cylinder will be made up, braided lines for all for calipers will be made to suit the different hard line / caliper fittings. I'll try and take a picture tomorrow of the engine bay as it is now. It's not longer being used as storage and all the respraying is done. -
Whats up ladies, Noticed last night that my shifter sits very far forward in the tunnel opening. Want to see others just to make sure mine is normal. The leather boot on the centre console always has heaps of slack on the front row (1, 3, 5), and stretches almost dismounting itself on the rear row. What's the deal with this? are the Ceffy manual boxes longer than R32? or is the floorplan different between factory manual and auto ? or is mine a freak? Pic attatched. Excuse the excessive size of the photo.

CD PLAYER / SPARE POCKET DIN MOUNTING BRACKETS: R33 (cut the 90 degree bend out, and turn it upside down) The brackets are different for every centre dash, so unfortunately A31 is alone in the dark. J30 Maxima / A32^^ Maxima probably also fit from what I remember of the shape.

LOL. Name & Shame + Report Abuse. Don't worry about these tossers man, I get it all the time "bunky" - "thats ALOT of work man, not even worth it", peice of shit, my bog stock r33 "gtr" (gtr, gtst, same same) is fasterrrrrz lolz. These morons don't even work on their own cars. Fully sick workshop stickers on my quater panel ulleh, more horsepower. If this guy had a GTR, or balls, he'd post it, not PM you.

Interesting to say the least. This gives a whole new meaning to sleeper

Not many on the roads here in Perth man. I'm still out of action for another 1-2 months min. If i pick up this RB20E auto and get it on the road in time, and I still welcome? haha Jason will be in. Dani will be in. Rowan ... maybe. I don't think the other Nick (ENEMIE) or Banga drive their Ceffies, but worth asking. Post this on Antilag, I know there's one or two owners on there. Between the members there and DriftWA you'll be able to track down a few of the "lone rangers" as well call them. Let me know how ya go, definately keen

Ahh k, the way you said it in your first post made it sound like somebody else told you about it. All the stuff in my original post has been weekend work + 1 - 3 nights a week since about July (late) 09. Some weeks I'll make wicked progress, sometimes I won't touch the car for a week or two on end. At the moment it's just little bits and pieces, and I've got like 3 grand of parts waiting to go in. I'm having a stupid/fun time getting all the rear end bushes out. Havent even dropped the cradle yet, think it's gonna take me a while. But when it is all back together it'll handle soo sweet -

Thanks dude. Who did you hear this from? Didn't know my build was getting word of mouth around anywhere, wow :\ What the hell do you have a spare one for ? Cheap cheap ? My brother's mate is able to get me a halfcut, z32 box, make an adapter plate, flywheel and driveshaft adapter. I've got the choice of Y33 VQ30DET, or Y34 VQ30DET NEO (leaning towards the later). Another dude in Perth has got a crossmember that bolts directly in place of the RB crossmember and uses VQ engine mounts. The only loose ends there are gearbox crossmember/mounting, and exhaust work, which I'll get Kermit to carry out anyway. Them fiddly shit like wiring, speedo adapter and calibrations, etc. -
More likely to be a vacuum leak

Engine should run without the AFM connected. The RB20 in my Ceffy used to, the VG30 in my Maxima does too. As soon as you open the throttle it'll die as it's injected 'idle rpm' worth of fuel to a higher amount of air and can't combust.
