Failed Inspection, Front Upper Arm Bushes Gone
Nic_A31 replied to Lum's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Nolethane are good, and they list a complete kit for front and rear for A31 Cefiro RWD, which is what I've got. For the AWD models, just order R32 GTS4 parts, and any bushes immediately on the front knuckle assembly needs to be S13 (such as the bush between the knuckle and lower control arm, and the bush for the steering arm end). -
insulating exhausts is ceramic coatings, not alfoil and cable ties.

Intercooler is a bit longer. You'll find this will struggle to differ 1 degree C, let alone 10, or any noticeable difference. It might be more effective with a front facing plenum, since its less distance to travel and isnt going over the heads / near any heat sources. But again, the difference this makes is very minor.

theoretical evidence? OK you have a 2.5 litre engine, if you're on 6 grand, you're engine is consuming 6000 x 2.5, 15'000 litres of air, every minute. Even at idle rpm, the air moves from the intercooler to the throttle body much faster than it would take for a "hot day" to heat it back up.

Wtb: Sa Cefiro Console Manual
Nic_A31 replied to kafwim's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Just be advised. S1 and S2 are different consoles (the bit where the gear selector comes up). They look the same, but early model has a slide out ash tray, one has a pop out ash tray. So the frame thing for it is different, not just the facia. There is a late model ceffy being parted out on eBay... i was gonna take the late model centre consoles and make a leather boot fit it to make it manual, but never got around to it. -
That black one came over from SA. The old owner is a pretty cool guy hey. Banga has put a few more on the road lately as well, like Nathan's old pearl white one, orange SR20 one, he's putting a blue one on the road, I'm probably getting one of his old ones (white). If Nathan still liked Ceffies, they'd be coming off the road as quickly as they went on

These articles all copy each other and fail so specify what exactly their turning circle is. Radius? Diameter? Circumference ? R32s feel much tighter to drive than R33s, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were the same supposed turning. According to those "specs" the Skyline itself is 4.5 metres long...even the R32 (smaller, lighter), HICAS or not, probably can't pull that off without a bit of wheel spin.
-
In the same topic, you guys have managed to mention "daily" and engine swaps. That's retarded. Want a daily, buy a shitbox, and spend as much as you see fit on a Skyline. Why? Because, if you think you can take to the market, with a budget, and pick up a car that was never designed to be driven on a daily basis by a pretty boy like yourself, then....you're retarded. LOL at the "full time RWD" requirement. About the whole "outdated" thing, ECENTRIX gets another +1 from me. His old R32 was a prime example of how spending alot of money on just the car as a base works.

Ahh...you're the guy who got yellowed less than 12 hours after buying it ay? My Ceffy is in the build, ith as threads here and on Antilag, and has a few mentions on DriftWA. We covered this mildly in the topic "how many Cefiros have you seen on the street" and worked out, there is about 10-15 in Perth/WA, counting all the known track only Ceffies used for drifting.

R33 Skyline. The holes at the top line up perectly (near the strut tower), the ones are the bottom don't reach...they don't line up to anything either, so just use a block of wood and drill it into that so it has a spacer and reaches. The snorkel sort of fits...it has a buldge under it to go around the power steering main line, but you need to bend it a little, and again, the holes on the snorkel don't line up with the radiator support...just drill through new holes.

Serious Q Any crashed Laurels around Perth? any back halves of half cuts? Otherwise, this, and a Ceffy back end welded on would be cool (few ceffy wrecks around).
-
That one is from Rockingham area....can't remember the name. Nathan/[TAKUSHI] knows the guy. In the 4 Door section we rallied up about 10-15 confirmed in Perth, possibly more Drift only rigs (which are hard to keep track of). Still looking for one dude? there's a couple for sale at the mo.

+ With Stat. Dec. if you weren't the last owner who had the car registered, don't bother. There is a form on the DPI website, you fill out and they do their own investigation, to make sure it wasnt stolen and car came into his possession legally...or if you want, you can get 2+ stat. dec. from every owner between "last registered owner" and current owner.
-
If the vehicle IS registered, he needs the plates. He gets the car, introduces it to WA road standards, takes it to pits, registers it HERE and SWAPS the plates. You fill out an interstate transfer of ownership form (like any form transfering rego and ownership). If the vehicle is NOT registered, hand the plates in as they should have been already. Write the guy a statutory declaration confirming he owns the car legitimately, when he bought it, how much for, chassis / vin number, engine number, condition, etc. He gets temporary movement permit. Introduces it to WA standards. Registers it and receives WA plates.

No. Head gasket = breach between oil and water galleries = seized engine.
-
Suspension between Credic, Gloria, Cima and Leopard is all pretty similar...and alot had air bag suspension...not alot of coilovers out there for them....worth a search though.
-
Ever heard of phones? Awesome new technology. If its already in primer, evened out, all the external trim is out, etc...you're looking at about 800+ for decent paint.
-
Easier to remove the starter and the intake manifold. Yeah, it's a tad hard the first time but it's the only way. Get a uni joint for your socket set, and it's pretty breezy. You'll need new gaskets or gasket paper while you're at it.
-
Nice work champ Try harder to get that last bolt of for the starter motor...you got one off and gave up...you were halfway there. Manifolds aren't a massive job either, 12 bolts and some vacuum and water pipes. Pic of side of the block...probably just busted a hose, or it's come loose: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v20/IIIRII/DSC00665.jpg

Yeah...car shit is priced on weight Got a crossmember lined up, if I can find a halfcut importer, it's green light for a VQ30DET Cefiro.
-
Trying to stay motivated and remember this is actually a Ceffy under all that crap.
-
Prado? I think you mean those smart keys...just put them in and go..the car knows when that key is nearby...don't need an immobiliser (button), even to unlock the doors and shit. They're fine..dunno how, but yeah they're legal. As for your own, remote starting is illegal. Didn't work? New immobiliser + install..couple of hundred at the most, and half a day (if that). Sure somebody on here can explain to you how to get behind the dash and cut it, so you can drive it in the meantime.
-
Yeah mate, try that. If you stuff it up, turn the key back to OFF and try again. Remember when you turn they key (after x amount of flashes corresponding to the number), HOLD they key so the light stays on solid, once it's released, let it start flashing again until you need to hold it solid again.
