  1. Damn man...Ceffies are meant to be fun to drive. Dunno how you can get the clutch for soo cheap...thats weird. Go with that if its all stock standard...don't need an aftermarket one just yet. Get them to have a check of the driveline when they change the clutch for you? If something is damaged, THEN organise for someone to balance your driveshaft or axles. Look into getting a single piece driveshaft from gearbox to diff....better down the track for more power.
  2. Just as easy to fit a VQ...theyre alot better and worth the little hassles, and "support" isnt a big deal for serious racers. RBs are great for street cars, since every mofo has one...RBs arent great, theyre just alot mroe common and easier than any other engine...their potential is actually pretty crap when you look at what other Nissan engines can do. Look on wiki for where theyre used. VQ20 and 25s arent on any Aussie market cars..overseas Cefiros used them and I think the Stagea used the 25HR. 30s are used in A32 - A34 Maxima, also in alot of Cedric/Gloria/Cima, etc VQ30DE-K is used in A34 Maxima (improved externals) VQ35DE is in J31++ Maxima and 350Z VQ40DE is in the new Pathfinder I beleive. VH45 is in some Gloria's, Leopards, I think either Cedric or Cima had the option before V8 became standard, as well as Infiniti Q45s (before it became VK41DE in i think 96+) Thats all I can recall off the top of my head without checking Wiki (at work....)
  3. With that kind of weight, don't bother with an RB...or with anything less than 3.0 If you're going 6 cylinders, find a VQ...you can get them in up to 4.0 displacement stock form, they're a shitlaod lighter and produce tons more torque than RBs, they can handle low-mid boost very well, not soo well at high boost unless you do some work to the heads. I can vouch for VQ30DEs...can keep up with a 6L HSV with minimal effort, and without going anywhere near its 6600rpm redline. If you want high boost, the VGxxDE (T)(T) might be on the cards...they're a bit heavier, being an iron block, but can support 1000+hp reliably with stock internals...it'd be hard to pull those kind of numbers out of one, but the reliability is more so what you're after...I've never seen a VG blow other than due to neglect.
  4. Probably going to sit in my room for a week until I stop loving them, then collect dust in the shed until I fit 5 stud brakes and wheels...and check out that rear cradle. Come help me - makes the process faster
  5. SICK, so I'm 112% JDM Yeah nah I spoke to my tuner and he ordered me the hot air ones...he's going to fit them for $2'000...cheap For everyone else...this is just an inside joke myself and Jason have on SAUWA sheep. Apparently its better to pay someone to work on your car, and cold air is bad .. : O Yeah, LOLz, I wish I was cool enough to have an R33 GTS25T
  6. Just have a look at your steering rack, tie rods, etc....if something is bent and is what is causing the problems, it will be bent out enough to notice straight away. How much black smoke? is it constant, or just a big puff when you slam it ? Air/Fuel mix can only be altrered by PowerFC, SAFC, aftermarket ECU, etc. Its possible you're not getting enough spark to ignite all the fuel inside the cylinder cycle, and some goes out with the exhaust stroke....check your running voltages, and make sure all cylinders are firing constantly. Do you have bigger injectors / aftermarket fuel rail / bigger fuel pump ? Failing AFM usually causes the car to stall when you open the throttle, they'll idle fine and usaully run lean (too lean, hence the stalling out), rather than rich. LSD leaks should be obvious to find, but like I said, that shouldnt cause any vibrations...even 2 way diffs don't shake the car that much when they lock up. Best to send the axles and driveshaft to somebody to be balanced properly if they're out. The 6 bolts around the clutch, that sounds like the gearbox and if that wasnt in, I'd check that first, ASAP...the clutch might not even be aligned properly.
  7. Nom nom nom nom After a stupidly long wait and a failed delivery by TNT, I picked them up this arvo from their depot...all in the one box...I had fun holding that on my shoulder and trying to find my keys with the other hand....but, w00t, I've finally got coilies. I hope nobody is expecting me to behave once these are in....
  8. Checked your tyre pressure? uneven pressure will cause it to pull one way. Inconsistent power steering sounds like bad fluid or a failing pump maybe...but the steering rack could also have damage, which would also explain the vibrations you're feeling in the steering collumn. Black smoke is normal if you're running rich fuel/air mixture...flames/backfire are also normal if you're not using a CAT Sounds like your cluch is slipping. When LSDs fail, they become open centre diffs....to test that, just drop a skid and see if both wheels spin ...hahaha ok no don't do that. Unbalanced axles or driveshaft could also account for virbations/feedback when driving. Give it a big service, check your power steering fluid, racks, control arms, etc while you're under there. 1994 model hey? that would be one of the very last A31s ever produced...is it a rear wheel drive, or all wheel drive model ?
  9. Guys...I dont know why Im going to carry this on, because I'll probably get flamed by people soo stupid they dont know theyre being proven wrong, BUT here goes. Doing a singler pegger skid to do a 180 degree turn slightly quicker, is NOT a drift. The roads are barely wider than a typical car, and the end of the soo called "hairpins" arent much bigger than an average RWD turning circle. By drift, I meant DRIFT, continuously holding the vehicle sideways, keeping it under control and not necessarily in a corner....not just flogging the stock LSD in ever slight bend. Cool? can we agree that no matter how cool you think you are, you haven't drifted the Zig Zag ? Too bad if you don't, I know I'm right PS: Pics or ban!! (applies to the cruise itself, and said drifting on Zig Zag (vids would be better))
  10. No different names over here..then again us Aussies don't really talk properly alot of the time. Can you just cut the wires and use a bulb + holder of a more common type ? I'll have a look when I get home for ya for bulb size and if any LEDs fit.
  11. I know the difference between Mundaring Weird Rd and Zig Zag, I did grow up around here Mundaring Weir Road was cool because everyone stuck together, but on the Zig Zag all the cars bvehind us took the wrong turn and i couldnt see or hear any follow us down...and none ahead of us either. I don't get how anybody can "hoon" down the Zig Zag...anybody who's driven down it before knows its just not physically possible, unless you class accelerating hard then jumping on the brakes, as hooning. Thats about all you can do....no skids, no drift... I still question how many people went down the Zig Zag, considering all the crying and complaining pre-cruise about it.
  12. Find a member called Woodys, Adam is his name I think. Helped me get mine out, made it look easy.
  13. If you can PM me a rough shipping price to 6056 I'll consider it, and probably grab one or two end of this month ? Got a mate chasing one, but Im sure the extra weight and well...no difference in dimensions wont make a difference to the shipping costs ?
  14. The blue WRX didnt have vinyls...you're thinking of that TX3? Laser...stupid moron overtook 2 cars on the Zig Zag, right near a blind corner, and just as AntiLag were coming through the other way....sounded cool but that was a very dumb move That corner before the first lookout, there was some fresh, really dark marks...even width, it went for a good 75-100 metres but it wasnt a drift, and it didnt "fade in / fade out" like the single pegger auto commodore / falcon burnouts you see....definitely not your regular hoons who were laying those down
  15. That's funny because I didn't see or hear any cars from the cruise on the Zig Zag. Antilag (I'd assume, or somebody with HPV and 2 way) left some epic skids up there hey.
  16. ^^ If that sale falls through, let me know, I'll take it.
  17. Mate, have a look in ImportMonster Go into Automotive, and search A31 (Cefiro turns up f**k all search results) There's a few ranging from $15 - $130 + shipping/taxes Although I think you could make one from perspex for ALOT less money. EDIT: BROWSE YAHOO AUCTIONS AUTOMOTIVE enter A31 in the search bar

  19. Disconnect the starter motor and take some relays out. If they want to open the bonnet and try and work it out, the alarm will sound even louder, and it'll be a little hard for them to concentrate. Just take something little. Fuses can be replaced so don't bother with those, most thieves aren't going to bring along assorted Nissan relays just incase one is missing. They're unlikely to have a battery or steering wheel. As an added immobilization on my daily, the ignition wires go through my CD player and take the face out when I leave the car. No face on the CD player - no start. You can run it through any accessory, or put a switch in a tight gap their giant hands can't fit. Connect up the live wire for air bags to another live in the steering collumn - try and hotwire the car = broken nose. Love the fuel tank / spark plug idea, I've heard that somewhere before, f**kin gold
  20. GPS takes Direct route not the cruisy route.... Because of me and my assumptions, we (Nathan + me) went off route a couple of times, I knew my way around, so we just went directly back on course or to the next meet point, and from Kalamunda onwards it was worth it. Mundaring Weird was f**king EPIC, all you could see was brake lights forward of you and headlights behind you, and you could hear every RB and 2J on the limiter around blind corners...and AntiLag were coming through the opposite way, doing the same. Zig Zag was cool (even though nobody else had the balls to run it), and as always, Tunnel is awesome with a de-cat and Bee*R!
  21. Guys, ALCOHOL... I dunno who that drunk asshole was, but a few days ago, Police announced a massive crackdown on DD...having a drunk moron and opened alcohol in your car is not going to help. (No, I don't care if he's your friend, he's still an idiot) Good turnout, good to meet some new people, and amusing to see half of them get lost. Had a pretty good night
  22. Bump - where has this gone? Handy feature, I use it alot on other forums
  23. Alluminium with Carbon Fibre Overlay is legal. You can get bonnets legalized, by providing five, for the vehicle in mention, for crash testing. If they pass, then you get get them legal....now that is IF they pass, ie the CF bonnet somehow folds like normal bonnets... I've seen a crash test vid where a CF bonnet cracked lengthways of the car, went through the window and decapitated the crash dummy....that shit ain't cool. Its not legal for that reason...its unpredictable in a crash, and can work out more harm than good.
  24. CF is illegal buddy. Factory CF is legal for GTRs and shit.
