What Do You Call It When...
Nic_A31 replied to Tony de Wonderful's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Bad time of month Bubba ? -
Yeah, most guys on here...they've got big stickers but still have all the seats
-
Anything up to 2" bigger than factory doesnt require approval or permits, bigger CAN be registered though, provided you've got a certificate to prove it doenst affect handling, steering, braking, etc, then you'll get a permit at the pits for them? He should be ok, besides do the guys at the pits have info on factory specs for all the different releases of every car? DPI doesnt even have a name for Cefiro, just rego'd as "Nissan Sedan", so I doubt they'll argue the Tommy Kaira..
-
It was registered over East so it would comply with ADRs, but might clash with WA laws.
-
Yeah you probably are seeing as most Tommy Kaira's can be registered without too many drama's
-
So, same internals and shit, just external mods are different? You could make a 20DET just as hypo using different manifolds, turbo, etc ? I was under the impression the 20DET-R were forged differently and stronger than regular blocks like the 26s..
-
I'll send ya a pic when I get home from work dude, if you dont hear from me, send me a PM.

Not quiet that size / weight. Ive had a big 100 x 80 x 20 box at 5+ kg, was only 75 via air freight, took 6 days. You want a whole engine, or just the low end? Could be done for I dunno....$500 or so, tops ?

I've read this thread a few times for shits and giggles - the guy can't drive his car. I've got stiff suspension, a monster clutch and the roads around here are f**ked, maybe I'm just used to it but I have no drama's, my driveway is even worse and I can reverse up that without spitting gravel. I didnt get my license from the bottom of a Fruit Loops box..so I dunno. -
^^ Arent staggered wheel widths illegal? Running over the pits with any mods is a hit and miss, depends on the assessor...or how much bling you've got.
-
While the Aussie dollar is strong on the USD, and tipped to actually be worth (apparently), it wouldnt be such a dumb idea. I've shipped stuff to the US and had stuff from US shipped to me - shipping prices really arent that expensive. Although I would recommend getting air freight, its a bit extra but it gets tracking, and it takes 10 days not 3+ months - definately worth it.

Can't beleive how many replies there are to this with no flaming - he's asking for advice on driving over a speed bump... -

Just let it roll at idle rpms when you're going over speed bumps. Reasons speed bumps are there - to make people drive slow. -
OK GUYS - VOTE TIME: Need a temporary paint job to pass pits. Should I A) Hold out, keep sanding + preping and get a proper job B) Have a crack at doing my own matt black job in the shed ? About 500 to do, probably a bit less. Again, only until I can pass the pits. Option B is quicker towards rego, but means the proper job (which I insist I'll get done eventually anyway) requires sanding back, primer, etc again. OR Option C) fork out more cash, and have a go at my own 2 pak job in the shed (Yeah, I know....) Once more - pending chassis measurements before I burn another cent on it. Whats it gonna be fella's ? CHOP CHOP!

Yeah but the day will come when it gets a yellow sooner or later, so might as well trade the plates in and get an ass hauling rig. THAT makes life easier when you blow something up at the track and need to drag it home, tow trucks arent cheaper than your own trailer. Not to mention you can have more obvious work done to your track car, ie weld in cages, screamer pipes, straight through exhausts, etc. Anybody serious about drifting / track cars is on DriftWA, not here, which is why alot of you guys are going to get massacred trying to make sense.
-
Its a track car...he only uses it at the track...so why bother paying for rego on it? Unless he's going to....not drive like a tool....but lets be realistic.
-
Before this breaks into a another Royale of retards vs Ceffy drivers, lets settle this nicely. This guy has two options depending on his income: Register all the mods legally and no stress Buy a trailer and tow it
-
Yeah, with enough money, anything can be legally registered. Borneo did have rego on his 31, but it was never on the road because it copped soo much attention. So even with nothing to worry about, you're still going to be pulling over frequently, so just buy a crumpledore with a towball and a trailer.
-
** As a method of moving an unregistered car - temporary movement permits. No point having a track car registered, it'll get stickered either way.
-
Dont risk it with no plates - super dumb idea. B-Class if you still can, some guys on DriftWA use temporary movement permits (you can argue there is a workshop right next to Barbagallo, but I'm sure cops will argue the misuse of those permits), or just fork out and tow it - motor sport isnt cheap.
-
Suspension is a must since I took the old shit out and its stuffed. Exhaust I dont REALLY need but I'm still gonna get it done before the road. What happens with the extra wires on the Ceffy loom to the R32 engine loom? I'll try and take a pic when I actually find them.

Wtb : Cefiro Grille Chrome
Nic_A31 replied to ceffyrb25's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Not many in WA, seen 3...best bet is YahooAuctions (hit up ImportMonster for English translations), or see what the guys over East have...for some reason theyre rare and worth lots and apparently look good...dunno wtf thats all about, S1 and 1a look way better -
Well atleast you've had a RUNNING Ceffy the whole time - Im having withdrawal symptoms from boost, and sideways and shit. Nah, not gonna throw the towel in too soon - got the car into the shed and making some room for it, this means I can use weeknights to work on it now, not just weekends. I might rebuild my Ceffy ECU loom since I cant be f**ked re-wiring shit into the 32, BUT I've already swapped my Ceffy air flow metre for a 32 one...I dunno who ended up with my old meter, since a mate did the trade for me....f**k (dunno if the Z32 fits straight in without needing to remap the ECU ??) Only got: Suspension ($1600) Paint ($...ballpark figure SHOULD be around a thousand, but Ive asked atleast a dozen for a ballpark figure and still they're not interested in a non-labor paint job), Exhaust ($1500) and tidy up + fit the alarm and I'm all done Glass is all sorted but Im getting desperate for the bling trim bits around the windows, and some internal shit too, for when new windshield goes in and post-paint job. I dont really NEED it, but they'd be nice. BEFORE ALL THAT: Taking Chassis measurements this weekend...I rolled it in tonight and I swear it doesnt sit evenly...see how it sits on level conrete on axle stands first, but I'm worried. Just to make my week on this thing worse, I've f**ked my back...then f**ked it even worse tonight, AND my mate's engine crane fell over and f**ked the ram....so I'm really not in a good mood with vehicles / tools / that area of my property at the moment.

Dismount it from the J pipe...blow off valve's should be installed on crossover pipes. Will sell alot quicker without the pipe or hoses.
