  1. You know, turbo's are meant to lag
  2. Good deal for me too please? Im having a hard time working out wiring diagrams in Japanese...
  3. I know some people that buy all their stuff from over East or directly from Japan and save shitloads. eBay stores and Sliding Performance do have warranties, but the shipping puts strain on that process. If you're up for fitting the parts yourself, buying online might be the best option, but if you'd require someone else to do the fitting, do it locally as said above.
  4. Cool. You have a big brake kit on the rears only ? On mine, the stock front brakes have some clearance (unknown brand/model rims, but same size), and the rear stock brakes have shitloads of clearance (stock rims). Weird ?
  5. I've seen those badges before, painted green, purple, black Looks aight ay.
  6. According to a mate - fenders ARE the same.
  7. My copy of NissanFAST lists the same part number, but it does that with alot of shit, Im fairly sure S13 fenders are different. Do as much measuring as you can and if the S13s are cheap enough it cant hurt to get them and try, maybe they'd just need some rolling or whatever (S13 bumpers fit onto Ceffies upside down, so who knows). Havent seen it be done yet. Consider finding some DMAX vented guards ? fibreglass and a bit cheaper, they pop up on eBay sometimes, in the For Sale section here, or sites that sell body kits for Cefiro's usually have them or can find them. Brand spankers from Nissan would cost you a fair bit.
  8. Will check that too, it has been converted from 20E auto to 20DET manual, but I dont know what Im looking for? Happen to have any pics showing the difference mate? Would be hugely appreciated.
  9. Agreed - every man for himself, and if somebody is going to f**k it up for the rest, "the rest" should cut that dead weight out of the picture, feed him to the cops, it gives us a more responsible image, and one less dickhead off the street. People who rely on the silence of others are spineless.
  10. This is more applicable, VSB 14, this covers what is and is not allowed in the way of modifications, and what is required to get it passed (ie what needs certificates) http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/veh...n/vsb_ncop.aspx Other ADR info is available on that site. Pro's and Con's for both, importing from japan gets my vote because you have a bit more security with your importer and theyre generally in better shape when imported to the first owner, opposed to one already in Australia. The con is the extra costs (freight, compliance, etc).
  11. Have a good read of the ADRs and you'll see what is and isnt allowed, the pits arent very picky its just alot of people try to pass with illegal shit. You get about $75 back when you hand the plates in. I'm pretty sure you can get interstate movement permits, or a temporary movement permit valid in all states, because I know that some truck drivers register their vehicles with an interstate or national license so they can move around.
  12. Looking good Arent the stockies for the rears ? you're doing it wrong
  13. Yep Wheel off Caliper off (two bolts to the knuckle) don't need to disconnect the brake lines Then the rotor slides straight out, Calipers back on, Wheel back on Drive...and hopefully don't crash You don't need pics do ya? Otherwise that's another easy task I'll offer my local help on
  14. I think 30 Days after the date on the invoice issued to you. Although after the date on the invoice, your CTP Insurance is void, so where possible, pay the rego before that date. After 30 days past the due date, your car becomes deregistered and they'll want the plates back?
  15. No, thats your radiator coolant doing its job - being hot. If your head gaskets were gone your water and oil would be mixing and your car wouldnt be running (you'll see white spots in your oil). Nothing to stress about man.
  16. No, thats your radiator coolant doing its job - being hot. If your head gaskets were gone your water and oil would be mixing and your car wouldnt be running (you'll see white spots in your oil). Nothing to stress about man.
  17. No sarcasm. You said getting between 2 cars isnt posible unless theyre 120 metres apart because of your Accord's performance. Funny you bring up the cliche of Ford and Holdens then link to that forum. Does it HAVE to be a Skyline? or a RWD turbo manual ?
  18. So you also want to weave in and out of traffic? Mate, why are you driving the family's accord? You havent bought a car yet? Trust me, you do NOT want a Skyline as your first car, beause of : the cost, insurance, maintainence, etc Im guessing your about 18, you're still on your Ps....even third party insurance for you would be a massive figure - Im also guessing you dont have a decent amount saved up, so you'd need full insurance as long as your paying the car off. Just because you did some course, that doesnt mean you are a drift king and weaving in and out of traffic to get to uni in 12 minutes instead of 15 minutes is any safer. Contest with that your choice of driving style, a cop is likely to pull you up and uni will be 25 minutes away instead of 15. Maybe you wont lose alot of traction in it, instead you might thrash the shit out of it and be in need of an engine rebuild. Skylines arent cheap, theyre a bitch to insure, especially if your young, registration is higher, then they suck more money out of your wallet (hence full time work or being a part time hooker is about the only way to afford one), and yeah, if you wrap it around a tree, you dont get a refund. In your shoes, buying a Skyline has absolutely no pro's at all, its all con's. Can you afford repayments and running costs while you're at uni?
  19. Maybe a non turbo AND a 4 wheel drive, but seing as that combinatin isnt out there (I can think of some R32 Autech Ed.s that were AWD N/A RB26s - only 250 made) We're not bashing you for the fun of it mate, we're suggesting you dont buy a Skyline for not only your safety, but more importantly...another Skyline off the roads would suck (even if it was an R33 GTST)! This would only create another number, another Today Tonight / A Current Affair story and another loophole for HPV drivers to worry about.
  20. 1. You might be able to pass with that, seing as it is improvising aftermarket equipment which isnt soo much about more performance, its just an alternative to OEM, but again, reception is different, so be prepared to have to take an emmisions test in any case. 2. Suspension rules, basically, 2 fingers between the wheel and guard = and nothing can be lower than 100mm off the ground, OR nothing within 1 metre of either axle can be 100mm off the ground. Anything lower than that starts looking stupid and kills the practibilitiy of your car seing as you wont be able to tacle speed bumps and ramps and shopping centres and whatnot. I think the rule IS with equivalent weight of 4 people in the car (4x 80kg) and full tank of fuel. 3. eBay have those clear stickers with the patten, and the Nismo logo at the bottom, for an extra 8hp, and it's only a few bucks, plenty of stickers from that one shop you could buy and cram into an envelope Im sure I've heard you do need the shuift pattern but never heard of anyone beong yellow'd or rejected over the pits because of it.
  21. You can get hoon law'ed for sneezing in a Skyline on a country road 500km's out of Perth - filthy hoon, don't take your eyes of the road or you could lose control of that skid and kill someone!!! Seriously, I dunno about 90'000kw stereo's, my understanding as that Lebo's are more prone to police brutality, about as prone as HPV drivers are to police hoon laws.... ?
  22. Excessive noise does fall into hoon laws, and there has been a law for a while: "undue/unneccesary acceleration" or whatever its called, 3 demerit points ...
  23. Its all about the STYLE, gentlemen
  24. So why do people buy Porche 911s and Bugatti Veyrons? If you want to take a Skyline for a ride simply to see how well it does "just one, PLZ!!??" skid in a corner, no, nobody is going to give you control of $30k worth of God's fine tuned machinery for that purpose, but hey, what would I know ?? I'm sure somebody on here will let you take their Skyline for a spin. Anyone?
  25. Everyone EXCEPT for a 33 GTS.... ok no more speaking for you. Buying a Skyline for even the odd corner is still going to be frowned upon around here. In a few hours the rest of this forum is going to wakeup, have some breakfast, jump on here and give you a royal bashing. It only takes one corner for another police statistic and a Today Tonight story about how one more got caught, 30 lives were saved and the rest of us need our cars crushed as well. For the record, yeah I've done the odd skid, no comment, and to be honest, on the street, its soo f**king boring. You cant do it with other cars around, or with any passengers (well, certain f**kheads will but I certainly never would), and you can only take 90 degrees soo fast before something like Barbagallo is what you want. I'm someone that gets bored of something as soon as I've got it down pat, so skids and being a c**t-rocket on the street isnt something I'm up for. I've got nobody to impress and no skill to push.
