Advice Needed On Registering Car Being Bought Over From Nsw
Nic_A31 replied to stolly's topic in Western Australia
Was the vehicle already registered over East? if not, no emmisions test? -
Rolling the fenders, usually for aesthetics but sometimes done so you can fit those Hektik 40" spinners in there....those are sick mate. Rolling is rolled inwards to increase the wheel well, flaring is pretty self explanatory, outwards and for aesthetical value, common among drifters. As for cost, no idea, I've seen people flare guards in their own garage and it doenst take long at all.

+1 ^^ Dont rush it, otherwise you'll buy something and see what you REALLY wanted the week after. Do some searching on here, there is plenty of "what to look for" topics. R34s are f**kin nice, so be patient and find Mrs Right. Didnt the R34s go until 2002 ? JustCar is best in any case, especially for younger drivers and ESPECIALLY for imports. It will always be costly until you're 25 then it still hurts, from 25 Shannon's is another option, but I dont know how much better they are. With insurance, its always a good idea to have full cover if you're making repayments on it, if its all yours, then 3rd Party + Fire + Theft should do. Welcome to the site

Didnt whats-his-name get yellow'd just the other month for no heat shielding on the cold side intercooler pipes? Officers think everything needs to be heat shielded now, even if they're not hot ? Idiots. How secure does the pod need to be? Can you hold it down with cable ties? or does it need to be rock solid firm, with a bracket n shit ??

Just eletrical problems then man, Nissan might cover it, otherwise an Auto Electrician can do it. Either of those sites will have a solution if you're up for having a go yourself, dunno much about the newer Maxima's but I'd say the Cruise Controll computer and lines are seperate from the main ECU harness, could get tricky if the problem is'nt in the interior, and the Door Lock / Time Control Module is still under the steering collumn, not too hard to get at, will be a piece of cake, either the controller or the driver's side door. America now produces their own Maxima's. They've stuck with A3x since A32 Maxima's, we did so until A34 when it switched to J31 - 32. Sometimes its sold as the Teana/Cefiro, depending on location, or sold as a level down from the Maxima, with different trim and the smaller engines. USA models are also tuned a little higher (factory) than ours, they've done that since A33. USA seems to think Maxima's are sports cars seing as they can't get Skylines n shit, on www.maxima.org some guys pull over 400 fwhp, and I've even seen a 10 second A32

Both of those problems are factory settings. Have you checked out www.maximasdownunder.org or www.maxima.org ? I use both and since using havent paid anyone to touch my Maxima since, both very good sources of information for Maxima's if you do actually have real problems. Cruise control is meant to turn off when the brake is depressed, other factorys turn it off, such as the clutch, manually changing gears in auto models, sometimes going up a steep hill the A/T computer wants to downshift 2 gears, the CC gives up and lets the driver take over. Doors locking is normal, unlocking only the driver's side is normal too, so nobyd can jump in the passenger side as the driver gets out, hide in the car then hotwire it. See how those new Alfa Romeo's only have door handles on the driver / front passenger doors? People are getting more paranoid about cars,

Brake Issue ! Rear Brakes Keep Locking On Ceffy

What do you mean by relieve line pressure? as in bleed, or just leave it alone for a while? Sounds like you've got air getting into the lines somwhere maybe? both sides? or just one? -

1992 / 06 onwards? looks different still -
Here's the worst looking one. Mainly the chassis rails go up and down, but dont soo much warp off path. Judging by how quickly the rust has built up at the scratches, it is recent, and the seller claims no knowledge of it. Some shit on the con note for the vehicle freight differ from one end to the other, so I'll be having a chat to them, wouldnt suprise me if they took it for a thrash, floored it up and down the ramps, etc. The panels are out lf line as well, the gap between panels will start at like 10mm at the top end at the bottom its down to 2-3. This applies to front right, bonnet (right), rear left, boot (left side). Yeah, I know, its a drift piggy, just weld it up and she'll be fine, but I'm way too much of a perfectionist to drive it knowing its like this.

There's probably a Dean Italiano in my Dad's family. Dont keep in touch with any of them since he lives over East now.

Sounds like something not too many cops know about. It makes sense though, in that pic above the plate is facing away, so camera's would have trouble reading it.

I'm looking for work, the job I've got is taking me nowhere but backwards. I want to start an apprenticeship, something in the auto industry. Eletrical, Trim, Paint or Panel, in that order, not really keen on mechanical. I check ApprentiCentre and Seek atleast once a day, which is sad. Does anybody know of any apprenticeships for those trades, willing to take on a 20 year old, with a 2-4 week start ? The closer to Midland, the better. I know, until I hit 21 and adult wages it'll hurt, but thats a sacrifice I'm willing to make. $300 per week for 1 year isnt too bad, its not like I have anything to piss that money up on apart from my cars anyway. If so, PM would be much appreciated. or, email is [email protected], mobile is 0431 598 320. Cheers Nic

I'd rather pull my exhaust apart to find my turbo blades than have that squeak shit. This in a lower pitch would sound sick. Like, the same pitch as spooling up on a stock RB 32 turbo (the sound the Supra makes after the burnout, not during the race) All this talk of flutter pipe dump dosage is making me dizzy.

Rip all the pillars off and get Ceffy top I thought some windshield mobs cut glass for custom vehicles ??

Yeah, two studs, I think only ONE of those is in the starter motor? just remove the bolts and slide it out, and yeah, disconnect the battery first.

^^^ its not an import so it'll be fine... LOL. No really, I bet he'll pass without the IM240 test, its post 89, and naturally aspirated, and its not like the guys at the pits know what theyre looking for either. -
hahaha ah right, well thats alright then. My number is 0431 598 320, send me a message if you want some help, not available this weekend, possibly not next weekend either but should be alright. -Nic

You did? from what I remember your 34 had that "whoosh" sound, like the factory BOV with pod ?? not that you revved very hard when I drove along side you.
-
Agreed, alot of tosser's just love the sound of it, but "Haaaa Chew Chew Chew" is much better than that quick high pitched squeak those WRXs and EVO's do, f**k man, hearing that shit makes me homocidal.

Where abouts in Perth are you? Clear the pipes with a shitload high pressure air. Getting the assembly out can't be THAT hard can it? and what do you mean by 'pimp it out' ? I have a scrict policy against helping ghetto lowrider shit

All the centres in Perth are by appointment, I think at Welshpool you can rock up before 8 without an appointment ?? Not to sure about this though. Easier to make an appointment. Temporary Movement Permits can be purchased over the phone with credit card, or at any licensing centre. $13.85 ?? or something minor, you'll need the VIN/Chassis and Engine number.
