  1. Its one of the new requirements to pass pits. You could be yellow'd for something like no H pattern on your shifter, and have to present an emmisions test when they go over all the other standard shit like seatbelts and child restraints. Someone did mention this would be on a compliance basis only, and not actually at the pits every time? No, a copper cannot decide on the street that a car doesnt pass emmisions, if it was registered before these laws kicked in, too bad for them, if it was registered after, then the driver will have a certificate that cops cant argue with. Well, apparently that's how it'll work. Apparently hoon laws save dozens of lives every day too.
  2. Any other joints in Perth mentioned possibly starting a test facility? Assuming the government is doing some bussiness under the table with Kostecki's, I'd bet theyre going to harrass any little workshops out of staring another test facility. Whatever corruption it takes to make us import drivers extinct. I call for another wave of protests, complains, and a Skylines Australia political party in the house. Between this, new hoon laws and growing requirements to make a car road legal, I can garuantee the SAU forums will be completely inactive in 5-10 years time.
  3. I had a half OK day today, but being reminded of this emmisions horse shit, and looking out the window at my Ceffy, suddenly I'm in a bad-f**king-mood. In the other post about this emmisions crap, someone mentioned the equipment required to perform these tests cost upwards of $400'000. I can bet nobody in Perth will be jumping on the bandwagon anytime soon. Not the end of the world? no, but it is the end of 4-5 hours of my afternoons, as for alot people. I guess we can all sell our imports, by 3 cylinder hatchbacks and play Need For Speed in our spare time. Now that I actually think about that concept, I'd save soo much money it isnt funny. I wonder if these polly assholes think about how their smear campaigns on motoring enthusiasts will actually make motoring enthusiasts extinct [YAY!] and reduce police revenue down by 75% and the DPIs revenue from yellow stickers and pit passes down by about 50% [oh noes ] This is f**ked. It IS the end of nice cars.
  4. Have a look at what its idling at. With the old ground lead, mine idled at 9, 11 when revved. Since the new lead, it idles 14 volt. Other pro's; starts almost instantly, somehow more power on acceleration (maybe wasnt getting enough spark with old lead?) Temporary movement permit > cruise through some country roads If police pull you up and ask, say its for rego purposes. Gotta charge up the battery, right?
  5. Alot of RB20s struggle starting on cold, low charge or if they havent been driven in a while. Give it a good run and charge her back up, or try replacing the battery. Mine did the same thing, struggle to start, then start on one or two cylinders and instantly fire up the remaining cylinders off momentum. To get it started I had to help it with the throttle like a good old carby. Thats Datsun I guess. Replaced the battery and leads, now it fires like new every time
  6. Measure the distance from the diff to the chassis or wheel (both top and bottom) on each side? Don't Pedders do an alignment check for $14 ? or is that just here in Perth .. ?
  7. What he said ^^ The camber does look different. Measure the distances between Wheels to other wheels, flares, diff, chassis, etc Hopefully it isnt uneven and just the camber, or a spacer or something ?
  8. Hopefully this is like Kev's 34, they'll realise how many people are hunting their stupid ass and ditch it unharmed.
  9. Anyone removed the negative battery lead from the block without taking anything else out of the way? Seems my big non-japanese hands dont fit in there and I need to change it out.
  10. LOL Only NoR
  11. "Nissan R3X cars only" ? Did you mean "Nissan Skyline R3X" only or "Nissan X3X only - yes, Ceffy's can come too, all sheep need a shepard!" Ok, I'm gonna go now before I get my ass kicked
  12. Yards charge way too much for cars to start with and their warranty won't count for much if you've had it shipped that distance away. eBay has a few stores that sell mainly performance parts and import spare parts but have one or two vehicles available at a time for sale, they'll also know the right people for better shipping quotes, theyre your best bet, and they'll be much mo co-ioperative in the event something goes wrong with your purchase. Either an eBay seller, or private if you can find a honest sale your confident in.
  13. Strictly Skylines only eh? Suppose Ceffy's dont count either? not that mine is on the road at the moment.
  14. Where did you pull this info from? Up top it says "to assess compliance", it contradicts itself, and I've contacted the DPI for a full list of whats needed to go over the pits (funny how they answer two different questions with the exact same answers), and they've never told me to get an emmisions report. Sure this is legit ? And like Keets said, one centre to service basically all of WA, he'd be busting his chops 9-5, and laughing all the way to the bank after hours.
  15. Not as harsh as I was dreading. Means I have to either repair factory, or get a test before I can take the Ceffy over the pits. Anyone know where this can be done yet? No mention of V8s or displacement of any kind in that, just another hoop for imports to jump through. Suppose now cops will want to see permits for exhausts, turbo's, etc along with every "random" breath test.
  16. This belongs in another section, but I have also needed to reset my password twice now since the site insists its not what I set it to.
  17. Even the 4 door? Apparently the exact same floor plan? Might need to get a trimmer to do it for you, unless you can find an A31 / C33. Ask some local drifters, sometimes people keep the interior shit they pull out.
  18. I have a J30 Maxima and can confirm, not the same floor plan R32s DO have the same floor plan apparently
  19. Zig Zag FTW, its about 10 mins from my house. We should have a Ceffy Touge battle down there one night haha ... or not, f**k that for a joke.
  20. I bought my Cefiro from Queensland (local Ceffy's were double the price, and double the KMs), it cost me $1589 from the seller's front door to my own front door, 10 days, with full tracking, service was A+, delivered it a day early (I rang to confirm drop-off time, and they offered to do it that afternoon instead of next morning), that was with CEVA. I SHOULD have got Photo's of VIN/Chassis + Engine Number and done a REVS check, Higher res. photo's of the car, and more of them, Report Compression Test Luckily, it was all sweet. I rushed for the money, the seller (who advertised it locally, not as an interstate sale) seemed honest, I didnt think about the risk I was taking and I got flamed for it until the car arrived, running better than I expected. My plan was to either register the car for my own use (if in good state, as sold), or to sell it for its Perth price (enough to cover the cost of car + shipping + more in pocket), it turned out well, but I should have planned it a bit better. Lesson Learnt
  21. Just for the record, there are laws to cover this, it is illegal to use CCTV on even your own driveway, front lawn, etc without a clearly visible sign stating that the area is under serveillance. Its the same kind of law that puts the owner of a house at fault if a theif cuts his leg on the broken glass forcing entry. Its f**ked! Sounds like you might have gone a little overkill, but I can't blame ya, I would have been blind with rage myself. Its good that you didnt get jail or something more extreme than "just behave for 3 months, ok??"
  22. LOL thats kind of raunchy, a dude in his jocks, a garden hose and a Nissan quiet literally ON FIRE....ahem, sorry. Good thing your fuel lines didnt go, the explosion would have finished the car and anything within 20 metres, including your Dad. Stop talking about selling shit, you gotta keep it and make it all bad-ass again.

  24. I know what its like to try and help someone really badly and they f**k your life up at the end of it, happened to me, but not quiet to that extreme. The fire was hot enough to warp the gearbox (thick metal), but not the engine (thick) and exhaust (thin)?? So the fire fighters got it under control just in time. On a good note, if it (engine) reached such high temperatures without warping, it re-forged itself f**king awesomely, it'll be well and truely capable of more boost. If she's a crack addict, taking her to court for $50'000+ dollars is kind of pointless, and like Keets and Dirty 3 said, she's already in a f**ked up place.
