  1. Yeah, really depends on which suburb and the street. Some suburbs you couldn't leave a scateboard outside for 10 minutes without it being put up on blocks and the wheels pinched But others are fine and would never have a problem. I'd make sure you've got a good alarm and make sure they can see the flashing light etc... Most people around here are more interested in joy rides or what ever is inside your car, so if an alarm is going to start screaming they won't bother with it.... J
  2. No problems - I'll drop you an emailtonight when I get home. J
  3. Good stuff Neil. Yepp, that's what my missus used to say too !! LOL I didn't mind it cause I just got used to how to drive it without it clunking, but I know a lot of people wouldn't like it. Oh, the other anoying thing is explaining to EVERYONE that get's in the car that the back wheels aren't going to fall off, and that the noise is normal J
  4. Neil - if your car is a 90% daily driver, then I'd stick with the stocker. The mechanical diffs can be pretty noisey and I can understand some people (ie. wives ) getting the $hits with them... J
  5. Mabru - good to hear that it's OK with the stockers in it Joel/Bl4ck32 - OUCH !! Damn it snapped two of the valves straight off !!! holly crap..
  6. G'day, Hay how's it going? Could you flick me some picutures too... To [email protected] I've seen it fly past me a few times but wouldn't mind seeing some pics.. Cheers J
  7. G'day, Are you after the factory pocket thingy that has the flip cover ?? If so, I've got one but it has a cut out part right at the back of it where I had a Profec A boost controller mounted. Cheers J
  8. Blackdogette - thanks for the offer I'll see how things pan out. Leech - all sounds good. It'll still be a while until anything happends, but I'm keen to find info out etc... I'd love to get a R34 GTT, but they are still out of my budget
  9. Insulting someones intelligence is really scraping the bottom of the barrel for trying to insult someone. Right up there with getting desperate enough to have a go at another persons spelling. The point I was making (and maybe you missed it as you seem to be a higher being) is that two wrongs do not make a right. And the moment the driver decided to road rage this girl he was instantly in the wrong and was breaking the law. No matter what happend prior, he has now put himself in the wrong. If she had cut him off and may have come close to causing an accident, he should have reported it to the police. No, I'm not joking either. J
  10. Your joking aren't you?? Regardless of what happend there is no way in hell that what he did was justified ! Maybe she cut him off by accident and didn't see him, this STILL doesn't mean he can road rage her !! Again, even if she did cut him off without knowing, I think he over reacted in a major way, I mean it is against the law to road rage someone! J
  11. leech - Car looks great. Very nice I might be in the market for a black series 2 in a few months too !!! I had a phone call yesterday from the assessor that is dealing with my car accident, and he said it was a write off So I'll be looking for another once the money comes through... Sounds like SVI have been treating you good J
  12. G'day Neil - how have you been ?? Not sure if you'll be interested, but Unique have a diff upgrade fro around $1200 I think. Makes it tighter etc... Or you may be able to find a 1 or 1.5 way for around $500 which may be less you'd pay for a stock rebuild.. Not sure how much it'd cost to fix up the stocker. J
  13. Ahh cool. Thanks for clearing that up Joel. I bet it made a nasty noise when the idler bolt snapped
  14. I think they are 46 or 48mm. Strange size, and you may not find a single gauge to put in to replace the boost gauge. Probably why a lot of places sell replacement triple gauge sets. J
  15. Gezz, not good !! I hope she is alright now. I'd report it too the police. My parents had a simular thing happen to them - a young bloke going off at them, hanging a baseball bat out the window etc... They when over to the cops station and reported it. Later that afternoon the police went around to his house and put him in handcuffs and brought him back to the station for a good talking too !!! Apparently this bloke was crapping his pants ! My parents got a full appology from this bloke etc.. I think the police really look down on people that road rage, so if you go there you might get good support from the police. J
  16. Cool - good to see you got all the files OK Benm My uploads were getting hammered for about 8 hours !!! J
  17. Bbenny - I think the RB20 motor has a non-interference head/valve set up. So I really don't think it'd be a bent valve (thank god !!) Have you run the diag's on the ECU to see if it finds any faults? I'd go around all the plugs/sockets around where you worked and give them a wiggle and crimp them tight if they look a bit sus. Could just be a dodgy connection.... J
  18. Re: the gap size and loss of power. Basically the best thing you can do is run the biggest gap you can without it missing (of course there are limits to this ). The bigger the gap, the bigger the spark = more/better/faster burn. It'd be great to run 1.1mm and have a high energy ignition thingy, but the fact is that they are big bucks. But reduce the gap down to 0.8mm and it should be fine for most of our power levels J
  19. Congratulations Matt. Top effort. I still remember when you broke 200rwkw years ago, and we were all like 'oh my god !!' Well done. J
  20. This is what I found from using a bleed and a EBC on the same car. The bleed can work very well if it's set up right. Keep the hoses to and from the bleed valve as short as possible. This will help stop it from spiking. On mine, I had a 2 inch hose from the top cross over pipe going into the bleed valve then it went straight to the wastegate. Also do your best to keep the heat from getting to it. The bleed vavle I had was a Turbo HPBC, it has a bleed valve as well as a pressure valve which can be independatly tuned to stop wastegate creep. You could tune it so it wouldn't let any air through until it saw 10psi, then bleed air off to bring it up to 12psi. That's how I had it set anyway.. I tried a EBC at one stage. After installing it and tuning it, I felt almost no difference at all ! Maybe a slight bit better at the top end, but I wouldn't say that it was 8 times better (that's how much more the EBC cost over the bleed valve). I ended up taking the EBC out and putting the bleed back in ! I would say that the best thing you can do if your looking at boost levels of 1 bar and under is buy a bleed with a anti wastegate creep valve in it and/or buy an upgraded wastegate actuator. Unless of course you go for a full replacement ECU, then you may want to look at getting a boost controller intergrated in with the ECU, like the boost controller kit with the PFC etc... J
  21. Appart from buying the actual cam, you'll need to convert the R33 head from hydrulic lifters to solids. In the end it might be easier and more cost effective, (not to mention more power gains) to go with a set of TOMEI cam's. But if someone is willing to give it a try I'd be interested in seeing the results. J
  22. Hmmm... You've probably done this already, but is the CAS set OK? Not making any wierd noises like it's rubbing on anything? Other than that, I'm lost for ideas
  23. Ahh cool. Well it's not that then Apart from that, the only other thing I can think of is the timing belt being a tooth out of alignment. Not much else can go wrong J
  24. That is one beautiful car !! If I was to get a R34 (I wish !!) it would be black all the way. I saw that car up on the J-Spec web site last week, if only I had the cash. Well done J
  25. A bit of a stupid question (I'm not sure how the cam is mounted etc..), but did you put the cam mounts/craddles back in the same position?? I replaced a cam on an old car years ago and it did the same thing, found out that the mounts/craddles that hold the cam in place were put on in the wrong order (my bad !!) which put a fair bit of load on the motor cause they were slightly out of wack.... I ended up needing to get them line bored to fix it... Not sure if this is your problem, maybe someone else can confirm. J
