  1. Droooooolll.... Looks nice, It'd be interesting to see how it goes. J
  2. This is what was happaning with my old coilovers. It had me stuffed for months as to what it was. I ripped them out one day and found that the very top nut was about 1-2 turns loose !! It was tight to look at, and tighter than finger tight, but with a spanner I could get 1-2 more turns until it was really tight. Wacked them back in and the chuncking was totally gone !! I was a happy chappy. So maybe yours are the same? Is it just the rears that are noisey? Or all four ? J
  3. Yepp, tried that. No good 400hp - I'll have a look at that site later on. Thanks J
  4. Jay, that'd be great. I don't mind waiting at all. Cheers Jayson
  5. R32 GTS-t's don't have them. The GTR's do, as well as the R33 GTS-t's (different type), but nothing on the R32 GTS-t's. J
  6. I think your on the mark Chris. That new pipework for the wastegate hose is pretty long, so this may be why your boost is creeping up. Also, if it's not the right type of hose, it can buldge under pressure too which won't help things. One thing to try, and that's to unplug the factory solinoid (electrical plug), and see what that does. If it fixes the problem then you know it's a problem in the pipework from the factory solinoid - but I dought it'll be that. The only other thing to try is to take the factory solinoid out of the circuit totally, and just run a pipe from the wastegate to the inlet. J
  7. Jay - any chance of getting a template ? :boobies2:
  8. OK, I give up... Anyone know of any sites that have tyre reviews/comparisons ? Been looking for about 1/2 hour and found nothing worth while I'm leaning towards the Hankook K102 or K104, depending on price. Size will be 235/45/17's. I know Motor Magazine did a review of them in December, but I couldn't find a web site for Motor Magazine.... Thanks J
  9. Little bit of induction noise..... That's not a HKS pod filter. They are one of the loudest pods around. I actually found it pretty anoying. Taking off normally it'd sound like your were going flat out. Much nicer to drive with the stock box with a high flow panel filter. J
  10. Well, when I got my car it had a HKS pod filter too !! I went from the HKS pod that was in a cold air box, to a stock airbox with a high flow panel filter. The only difference I found was that it was 10 million times quiter...... I noticed no difference in power at all. With the highflow panel filter I can still hear a little bit of induction noise, and I can hear the turbo spool up now (really high pitched whine, that goes so high it goes out of range of your hearing ) but it's 100% better than the HKS pod. J
  11. Like your new picture SK, looks good - is that your track GTR?
  12. Ahh cool, It'd be different. But how different I don't know.. J
  13. D'oh - oh well, it's good you got it sorted out. Hay if you've got a stock airbox and need a stock filter element, I've got one you can have for nothing. J
  14. For a R32 GTR you should have 2 on (inlet and exh). A good start for a RB26 is 4 degrees retard on the exhaust, and 1 degree advanced on the inlet. It may not be the best, but it's a good start and should be better than stock. J
  15. Yepp, best thing to do is email him, his eail address is on he's site. I've seen him tune the E6K a few times, and he know's his stuff. J
  16. I found it worth while, and I just wacked it in and set it a 3 degrees (no tuning). For me there was a noticeable increase in mid range power. I'd say around the 10rwkw mark (not MASSIVE but noticable). For the cost I was very happy, but like Jimbo has said, there are a few people that found 0 degrees was the best Think of it this way, buy the cam gear and wack it in yourself if you can, if there's no improvement, then put it up for sale here on SAU for what you bought it for - it'll get snapped up pretty quick J
  17. Cool - that would be nice I think 0.8 - 0.9 kg works out to be about 12-13psi isn't it ?? That's pretty good, and pretty much smack on what I'm looking for. I suppose if you were really keen you could bleed off 1-2psi to get to 1 bar. But at least you would drop boost like I am J
  18. Ahh, cool. Damn, I didn't even see the one that was for sale on SAU Did they tell you if the HKS one was adjustable or not? J
  19. Enrico - did you end up ordering one ? I haven't heard back from HKS USA, so stuff'em !! I sent Greenline an email to see if they have anymore details on it - they are usually pretty good about getting info etc.... J
  20. I hate smooth peanut butter - super crunchy all the way !!! Another pet hate is when people don't pick up COD items, and they end up getting returned and I end up having to pay the postage there and back Happend a few times now..... One bloke even said that he would DEFINATELY pay for the postage when it gets back to me, gave him my bank account details and strangely enough I haven't heard from him since.... J /vent off
  21. That's what I'm worried about too. If it's a mechanical problem, (ie. wastegate flap not opening far enough) then I would be fixing it rather than buying a EBC to get it to work. Seems like a strange problem, and it could be a combination of things that is causing it. J
  22. When your talking about upto 100km/h or there abouts, I think it'd be a very close call. And when it gets down to tenths of seconds between the two cars, that's when driver ability plays a big part. J
  23. I can't agree more. Always happy to give advice. It's a VERY rare thing to have someone with such knowledge that is willing to freely give advice. I know of a heap of tuners/mechanics that would say "I know how to do it, but it's a trade secret". Plus he likes Jack Daniels, so he must be an alright bloke J
  24. Otto - that's the problem. If the wastegate isn't opening right up (ie. only 40 degrees), then as the exhaust gasses increase and speed up, it won't be able to flow/bypass enough ehaust gasses to control boost. Does it look like the actuator or rod has been modified (bent/shortened etc)?? Maybe it's not a stock R33 GTS-t actuator ??
  25. Man - it's the wastegate getting stuck. A bleeder, EBC, or extra springs ain't gunna fix it. Rip the actuator out and test it along with the movement range of the wastegate flap. That's the only way your gunna find out what it is. J
