  1. Jay - I'd be pretty keen on getting a template if your willing to post to Canberra Or even better, if you could post it up on SAU somewhere I've got a nice peice of alloy that I've been eyeing off for this project for a while now... Cheers J
  2. Yepp, it's normal. If I get the revs/gear changes right it gives off a nice big pop J
  3. Yeah - I used to have a HKS pod and DAMN it was loud !! Used to scare kangaroos really well I ended up selling it and running a high flow panel filter in the stock box, no difference in power but it's not as loud now
  4. LOL - it's 1pm and your just waking up !! Or isn't your brain working yet.....
  5. Spotted - Gun metal grey R32 GTR down at Hyper D at around 12.30 today
  6. I'd say your brake fluid is low - I think it uses the handbrake light as a warning light, and if your pads are low then it makes sense that your fluid is low too... Have a quick look under the hood, you'll see it straight away if it's the fluid. J
  7. I think thats a sure sign that it's the wastegate I dropped HKS in the US an email on Thrusday and asked them for a few details on the actuator - hopefully they will reply soon. J
  8. I would be inclided to go to the Sargent at his station and talk to him about it. If you go in there with a good attitude (which it sounds like your being pretty sensible ie. no previous problems when pulled over) looking resectable, and explain the situation he may clear it for you. The comment of 'don't step in the fire' leads me to think the officer has an attitude problem, any normal person that deals with the public would never say a thing like that. Good luck. J
  9. Yepp, that's it. No need to take your wheels off etc, you just drive straight onto it..
  10. I'd say it's still related to your wastegate. Maybe it's sticking ? It might have full travel, but it's possible that the actuator just isn't moving it right open ? J
  11. Cool, Remeber that if your going to compare figures that you really should stick with one dyno for before/after results. He also tunes SAFC's/PFC's etc... Cheers J
  12. G'day Maxim, Depends on what you want to do on the dyno. Did you just want to make one run and see what it does, or do you want to have a few runs and do some fault finding and/or tuning ? I use AutoTech's dyno (well, only been there twice), the owner seems really interested in performance cars and is very enthusiastic about doing the work - he enjoys working on cars !! His dyno seems to give realistic figures too, I've heard of another one in fyshwick that is about 25kw more !!! So I suppose if your just after big figures, don't go to AutoTech Cost per hour is around $130-140 I think, but your best off ringing around and getting prices as they might do it for cheaper if you only want one run and no mucking around. J
  13. Oh my god... I think I need a moment alone ! :whackit:
  14. I remember wathcing a TV show that said that there are more head of sheep in NZ than there are people. Somewhere close to double !! Is this right?? No wonder velcro gloves and gumboots is a big business over there
  15. Woot Woot - all fixed. Thanks Prank
  16. May be off topic slightly, but is the turbo $1900 outright or exchange ? J
  17. I think it does have upgradable springs. On the HKS Japan site it's quoting boost pressures with different part numbers... Have to look further into it. J
  18. I'm just having a read on http://www.takakaira.com/performance/main.html about the HKS upgrade actuator. it says 'boost pressure can be altered by expanding or retracting the actuator rod' It doesn't say anything about an upgraded spring, BUT being HKS I wouldn't doubt if it has an upgraded spring. They show dyno graphs etc as well. If the HKS one holds boost (upgraded spring) I think they would be the way to go.... J
  19. I'd like to wait a bit and see if anyone (SydneyKid in particular ) has had any experience with the GCG ones. At the moment I can only go from what GCG have told me, which does sound good. The last thing I want to do is arrange a group buy, then later find out there is a better option. Zombie - I'm keen to see how yours goes (holds boost), and if you can find the make of it it'd be great J
  20. So the HKS ones are around $147 ?? Cause this 'may' get rid of the boost dropping off at the top end ?? Yepp, wouldn't give you as much adjustment as a bleeder, but if you only want 12 or 13psi it may give you a better result than buying a EBC a setting it at one setting and leaving it. Just a thought.. J
  21. Yeah - that's what I thought. But I'd like to hear from someone that has used one..... SydneyKid ?? Have you guys used one of these ?? J
  22. Just for everyones info, I just rang GCG and had a chat to Brett regarding this. They can supply a brand new actuator, with upgraded spring AND an adjustable rod, with all the brackets and bolts. They are a direct replacement item that will fit in the factory location. This means that that it should get rid of some wastegate creep (from the stronger spring) and hold boost better up top. And with it being adjustable you can adjust the boost if you find that you want 14psi instead of 12psi. Brett also said that all you'll need to do is remove the heat shield to remove the stock one and fit the new one. The price of the unit is $247.50 plus delivery. This price INCLUDES the 10% discount for SAU members. Now I'm not sure how this compares to the HKS actuator as I haven't used either of them, but to me it seems pretty good. Just letting everyone know what is on offer etc... I'm not specifically trying to push the GCG stuff, although Brett seemed happy to explain everything. If we had enough people maybe we could do a group buy ?? J
  23. Gizmo - I pretty sure this is right. If your like me and just have a bleed valve set at 12psi, and that all you want to run (couldn't be bothered with a lower setting) then a HKS actuator might be a good idea. You might be happy with the just the actuator installed so you may not need a EBC or a bleeder I think someone mentioned that you can get a HKS adjustable one too ! Not sure on price though. J
  24. Ahhh, are you still running the stock interheater ?? I've got a FMIC and it still does it Same with me, that extra few psi would be nice up top J
