Cold air partition installed and now running a bit crap
Jay95R33 replied to Burns's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
What type of plugs do you have and what are they gapped at ? Long shot, but maybe reset the ECU ? J -
Cool, another Stagea owner Man, we just keep breeding them... J
-
Term, I've found out that my Stagea goes through the petrol with short trips and city driving. But on the highway it's fine. I think it's cause of the auto box and short trips when cold (cold = rich). I wonder if you could put gas on one of these.. lol J

Here's a link to one of his slower runs for the day http://onionz.com/~saft/stagea/

Wow, they look nice. Stupid question number 2. I presume they come in right hand drive ? lol All the pics you have are left hand drive cars.

Never seen these cars before. What's the go with them performance and options wise ?? Anyone got some interior pics ? J

Great stuff SK. Will be watching this thread. Cheers J -
G'day Brazen, If the s2's are the same as the s1's then it's a 12v globe that pushes in.. It's the medium sized ones (bit hard to describe lol). It's really easy to get to, when I was fiddling with the stereo I decided to take that panel off to just for a quick look J

Yepp, I understand that, it's just a big jump in price You could get a low km series 1 with all the good options (leather, sun roofs etc..) and then do a manual conversion for about $5k, and then spend $5k on engine and suspension mods. It'd handle better and have more power than the series 2 and you'd have all the good stuff. That's what I would do, but everyone is different so that's fair enough. J
-
Ouch. $30,000 and no leather, electric seats or sunroofs...
-
Pretty sure I've got it laying around somewhere too.
-
lol - ahh, that's better They would be cool for a sportier look, if your trying to get away from the volvo look
-
Removing the roof rails would be cool (for looks) if you could easily put the rails back on if your taking a trip etc.. But am I reading the price right ? 144,100 YEN ??
-
That is bizzare !! They look good though. I bet your looking forward to getting the last one. J

Bass Junky - I know what you mean. Some people are just tight asses and expect to get bargins all the time, or they just like the though of bragging to their mates that they bought a $500 turbo for $150. Even if your selling something super cheap just to help out a fellow SAU person, you'll always get someone offering an even lower figure and then getting the $hits when you say no thanks. I was selling something one day for $150 locally cause it was a big item. Someone interstate wanted to buy it and I said fair enough, if you pay the postage it's yours. Then they got the $hits cause postage was $80 and I wouldn't pay for it.. Jesus, it would've been easier for me to give it away after I wasted my time taking it to the freight company, packing it up and paying for postage ! Fair enough trying to bargin the price down, but getting the $hits when the person isn't willing to take the $150 for the $500 turbo is just immature. J

YAY... I was spotted again. Sorry dude, if I knew that you was you I would've pulled into the servo for a chat. I was running a bit late anyway By the way, DAMN those mags look good on your car. perfect choice. Also spotted a nice gun metal R32 going down Erindale Drive around 4.30. I didn't get a chance to wave cause I saw you at the last second J

Aren't they the same as R34 Gtt or GTR ones ?

If you've got yourself a good tuner I'd lean towards the daughterboard and a remap. That way you don't have anything trying to 'fool' the signals. The tuner will have full control over what he wants the ECU to do. The Unichip works fine on the Stagea's and one fella in Canberra is running one on his automatic R34 Gtt with good results (195rwkw with simple mods). The Unichip can do both fuel and ignition while the SAFC only does fuel. The Unichip has more load points than the SAFC too, but again, it comes down to the tuner and how well he knows the Unichip and the car's ECU. I still have a dip in my power curve but am pulling a strong figure at save a/f's and low boost. If my tuner knew the Stagea's ECU's better he could probably tune the dip out. Unichip also has features like voltage clamping on signals (if you need it), a electronic boost control option and also can get rid of the speed cut at 180km/h if your into taking the car to the track. But bang for buck you can't go past the Jaycar unit. If the daughter board doesn't work out then I'd try our best to get someone to make the Jaycar kit up for you. J

Good results there. You gotta be happy with that. Pete is a good tuner and loves playing with cars. He was good with mine on the dyno. J

OMFG........ I just paid 126.9 cents per litre for Optimax !!! I looked at the price and only put 10 bucks in the tank to get me by until Sunday/Monday. That is a joke BUT, I was very happy on the way home cause I had my very first run (on a private road) with any car. It was with a WRX too ! Neither of us launched, but I was ready for him to put his foot down. Up to 90km/h his rear bumper was level with my front bumper. I think that's pretty damn good if you ask me !! I was that excited that I almost ran up the gutter LOL, thank god it was one of those slopey gutters..LOL Anyway, the thing that made the big difference with mine is a piggyback. You gotta get the a/f down. The Unichip made a big difference on mine and the way it's going it'll pay itself off pretty fast. J

For us that have a standard EBC setup, is it best to switch to low boost when trying to keep the fuel usage down ? It doesn't take much throttle movement to get her on boost. I suppose that's where the Jaycar EBC is good, you could tune it so it takes, say, 15% duty until it lets it hit high boost.. J

Jesus, not good. I almost got cleaned up yesterday going through a round-a-bout. Typical person saw me and waited until I was about 5 meters away from them. Then they pulled out
-
Well done SK, 11lt per 100km is pretty respectable. I'm still hovering around the 13lt per 100km with about 60% city driving, 40% highway.
-
LOL, that blue falcon that was behind you was pretty keen too !! When he pulled up beside me I think he wanted a quick run ! That wing looks good. Gives it a real sporty look. J
-
Spotted Terminal flying past me this morning on the parkway, that falcon was in hot pursuit too lol Also saw a nice silver R32 GTR heading into Civic around the base of Black Mountain at around 4.15. J
