  1. Butthead - not sure if they are legal. It seems to depend on what state your in. But the one I've got isn't a factory option. The reason why I'll be selling the gauge holder with the full A pillar is cause the gauge holder had a slight squeak in it (rubbing against the A pillar) and it was $hitting me off So I got some black silicon and glued the sucker onto the A pillar - no more squeak It's a very neat job, and is probably more secure cause there is no way you could just rip the gauge holder off the A pillar. I've already bought a second hand factory A pillar, I just have to buy another 52mm gauge and it'll be up for sale - I just need to decide which 52mm gauge to get now.... J
  2. Cool - thanks for that. I might drop you a PM in a little while Cheers Jayson
  3. Me too James - god knows how greenline and the others get them so cheap I appreiciate the offer though. J
  4. Cool - yepp for sure. I'd be real keen to check out the conversion. Drop me a PM if your gunna come over. J
  5. G'day Joel - how you been? Cool, yepp. What I've done is used a single poll double throw relay, so when the A/C is off the front fan operates as normal (eg. off of that temp sensor in the bottom of the radiator). But once the A/C get's turned on, the fan is cut from the circuit (so the ECU doesn't get confused (not sure if it would though)) and power is applied to it to turn it on. Hay I noticed the same thing with my DC fuse holder. It was getting warm and was starting to melt !! Matt (whatisname) has had the same problem, as well as a mate of mine (I had to replace his last night !). Do what I did, go down and get a good quality fuse holder that can take 40amps and uses 10ag wire. Then you shouldn't have any problems... I had the DC16 incher I've got on the bench to see what sort of current it draws, and OMG !! On start up it peaks to around 31 amps !! then settles on about 19 amps once it's upto speed !! Good idea about getting a lower temp sensor. I was worried about the A/C over pressurising and doing some damage J
  6. Cool, Can you post some pics of them at all? Are they simular to the ones in the pic that I posted above?? Thanks camandcandice - I've attached a pic of the VDo cataloge showing the EGT gauge. If I do get the EGT gauge I'll need a 5 metre loom thingy with it Superfly - thanks for that - I'll keep it in mind for sure J
  7. Yepp, no worries. J
  8. Cool, Would you mind getting a price on two gauges? Part no. 310.159 - 52mm EGT gauge 150.077.027 - 52mm Oil Pressure gauge Cheers J
  9. Here's a link to a pic of them. The pic isn't the best quality cause it's dark outside ATM. I might take another one when it's light J http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/at...=&postid=562277
  10. Here's a pic. Not the best quality cause it's dark out but you get the idea. J
  11. Woohooo - I worked it out. OK, forget about the relay under the bonnet that's marked A/C. It might be for the A/C, but it's not switched with the A/C !! The wire that is switched when you turn JUST the A/C on and off is pin number 5 on the FICD relay under the bonnet. I have no idea what FICD stands for though !!! Just to confirm, pin 5 of the FICD relay is only turned on when you turn the A/C on. If you only have the heater on and manually turn off the A/C (by pressing the A/C button after you've pressed 'Auto'), then the pin is held low (no voltage on it). But as soon as you hit that A/C button, and A/C lights up on your headunit, then pin number 5 on the FICD relay has 12 volts on it. I hope that helps someone. J
  12. I'd be interested to know too. J
  13. I've got two up on the A pillar at the moment, and will be buying another and moving all three down to below the stereo I'll grab a pic soon and show you, they are the closest factory looking gauge (matches the speedo and tacho etc) that I could find. J
  14. Zoix - I've returned your PM. Cyco - I'll drop you a PM. J
  15. Damn - I'll have to do some research into exhaust temps.. I've got the same intensions as GODF4Th3R - 3 gauges in the din spot under the stereo. I've already got 2 VDO gauges, hence why I want to stick with VDO. J
  16. Kris, Really high oil pressure is usually due tot he wrong grade of oil being used. What is the pressure at idle when warm? And what it is at cruising speeds when warm? If in dought, dump the oil and filter and change it to something the guys on here recommend. Cheers Jayson
  17. G'day all, Just wondering if anyone has any 'contacts' to get a VDO gauge any cheaper than the normal retail price. I'm looking at a VDO EGT gauge in the 52mm black range. Retail is about the $320 mark I think !! Thanks Jayson
  18. How soon do you need it? I've got on that holds two 52mm gauges that I'll be selling around Decemberish... I'll be selling the gauge holder WITH the full factory A pillar panel. J
  19. Yepp - I realise this - hence why I'm re-wiring the front fan. Thanks J
  20. G'day, I've sent you an email about getting some pics of the rims. Cheers J
  21. Supra - If you've got a R33 then I can make you up a set if your keen. All you need to do is let me know that your interested and I'll put you down for a set out of the next batch. When they are ready I'll drop you a PM and we'll organise a postal address so i can send them out (full details are in my first post in this thread). Cheers Jayson
  22. lukasikrob - LOL.. Yepp, the installation is included in the price when you bring the car to me ! hehehe.... Funkdude - sounds good to me
  23. No problems - I'll be ordering the new hide this pay day (thursday), so the next lot should be ready in about 2-3 weeks. Seems your in canberra I can install them for you too. I've got it down pat now, takes me about 30 mins I'll drop you a PM when they are ready. Cheers J
  24. Cool - thanks. I had a quick look at a mates R32 GTR from under the car but couldn't see the plug, but I'll have a good look around mine on the weekend, and rip the air box out etc. I got rid of the clutch fan, and now I'm running a DC16 incher that's thermo controlled by a temp probe in the radiator. I've heard stories of the A/C over presurising when you ditch the clutch fan for a thermo controlled fan, hence why I want to do this mod. So to stop the A/C over heating/pressurising I'll make the front fan come on whenever the A/C is turned on. And with summer on the way I dare say that the A/C will get a good workout Cheers J
  25. That's the hard part - you can't really. I saw a post a few days ago that one of the blokes put up, and it had a link to a site that showed you how to test it on the car. Do a search and see what you come up with. J
