  1. Anyone on here running the e-Manage with the inj/ign harnesses on a R33 GTS-t ?? Would like to get a rough idea of power/drivabillity increase etc... Dr_drift ? Any idea of power increases over the rev range? J
  2. I wonder if any got defected for those big commumitations machines that sit on top of the dash board right in front of the driver? If we can't have A pillar gauges, I can't see how these big bits of metal on the dashs can be legal ! J
  3. Cool - sounds good. The hand controler has got a knock readout, so that should keep you out of trouble The pickup for the timing light is right at the back of the motor where the ignitor module is (if you've got a series 2 motor it's still up the back there), and you'll find a loop of white wire just hanging around doing nothing. The look is only just big enough to clip a timing light pick up through. The wire might be hidden under some electrical tape. I found that the standard (cheap ) timing lights aren't sensitive enough to work off of this pick up But give it a try, it might work with yours. Cheers J
  4. This is mine, it's KL0 - series 1. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/at...s=&postid=86992 Hope it helps. J
  5. Stock timing on a R33 GTS-t is 15 degrees BTDC. The timing marks are on one of the pulleys on the front of the motor, you should be able to see the plate that has the 0-5-10-15 stuff on it down there somewhere I'm just guessing, but if your going for a PFC, set the base timing on the CAS at stock (15) and then get your tuner to tune the timing via the PFC. J
  6. G'day Andrew, It was good meeting you last Friday, we had a good trip back (partly cause I drove the GTR half way ). It sure is one very nice and very quick car J
  7. I've used a TurboXS HPBC for the last 18 months. It has the anti wastegate creep on it which works very well.. I found that if you keep the hoses to and from the bleed valve as short as possible it doesn't spike.
  8. It was dead at 2.30 this morning Couldn't find anyone.... J
  9. jnr-j - sorry to hear about the rear end job Hope you get it sorted out... Re: Auto-Co, I wouldn't go near them, from both personal experiance and from what I've heard. There's a thread on PF about a bloke who put his car into a certain smash repairer and within 2 days stuff was pinched from his car when it was parked in the smash repairers workshop.... When he confronted the smash repairer, the stolen stuff magically returned to his car within a few days !!!!
  10. Andrew - that's great stuff. Good that you didn't need to buy a ciol pack or ingitor module DAMN - 0.04 of a mm made all the difference !! It just shows how fussy the R33's are with plug gaps So how did it go on the dyno? What sort of kw did it pull ? J
  11. 4 dorrz, Here ya go http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...=&threadid=9634
  12. Jimbo - drivers side airbag was an option. Not sure if it was an option on all series 1's, or just the series 1.5's ....
  13. LOL, you hook up a shift light to the ECU while forgetting to turn the ignition off and forget to unplug the ECU from the harness !! Not a good thing... You hear crackle crackle pop...... then the smell of smoke. And like my electronics teacher told me years ago, transistors are made out of smoke, cause once you let the smoke out they don't work anymore The series 2 boot latch doova's are made from a machined alloy of some sort, instead of having the clear plastic epoxy over them. J
  14. 95Sky - the after market BOV will add zero performance to your car. But if it vents to air it'll help you get a defect notice Stick with the stock one, if you really get keen you can try the BOV mod that is posted on these forums - do a search and you'll find it. J
  15. Yepp, I've got one too Build date was 26 September 1995 - Wooohooo, it's almost it's birthday Has Series 2 motor Series 2 rear wing Series 2 boot latch doova ABS Drivers side air bag But I blew up the 1995 ECU Big bummer... So now I'm running a 1993 ECU.. And yepp, I felt a definate drop in power between the 2 ECU's
  16. I think this just proves that Toshi is very convident that he can tune the chip to 100% satisfaction - which is good. From the coments made from other peole about him he sounds 100% legit.
  17. No worries Robert - will do. I'll drop you a PM when they are ready to go. J
  18. This could lead onto the inaccuracy of dynos, but I don't think I want to open that can of worms right now !! Anyway, time for a group hug... :grouphug:
  19. Dude - your all out of wack. It's OK cause I don't expect everyone to know the specs of skylines etc. R32 GTR is 2.6lt twin turbo 4wd attesa 206kw. Yepp, it's 200kg heavier due to the 4wd (1/4 mile is around the 12.8 sec and 0-100 is about 5.1 ish) R32 GTS-t is 2.0lt single turbo rwd at around 1320kg ~160kw. R33 GTS-t 2.5lt single turbo rwd at around 1360kg ~ 185kw. I can scrape up the bog stock times for a R33 GTS-t somewhere, but tey are something like 14.5 1/4 mile and 0-100km in 6.2 seconds. But your right, it's good to have a look at different cars and the potential of them. It's just that some people get a bit heated about it
  20. This link makes for good reading - sort of speaks for itself. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&threadid=22444
  21. MX6 v Skylines, Commodores v Skylines, Fords v Skylines, the bloke next door on his electric skate board v Skyines... Hourses for courses. It's funny that the Skylines seem to be used as a bench mark ! This thread could go on for ever...... Oh - and which one are we comparing against? The R32 with the 2lt RB motor, or the R33 with the 2.5lt motor? Not meaning to put the RB20 down at all, but you all know that the SR20 has more torque than the RB20 That's what I liked about the RB25 so much, the extra torque (hides waiting for a flaming ) Black_TX5 - do us a favour and don't race on the streets, take it to the track.
  22. I've driven a stock R33 GTS-t and the difference between it and my very mildly moded R33 one is amazing. R33 GTS-t's really come to life with a 3 inch exhaust and 12psi. Black_tx5 - remember that a mildly moded R33 GTS-t can be around 170kw at the wheels and the car is around the same weight as the TX5 Not saying that your TX5 is slow, but with simular mods it's hard to see past the raw facts. Cheers J
  23. Maybe someone here on SAU should post up the link on thier forum to the SAU 1/4 drag times !!
  24. LOL now that is funny. I used to own a 88' TX5 2.2 n/a blah blah blah. I looked long and hard about either putting in a 2.2l turbo motor in it, or just sell it and get a turbo TX5 or MX6. But for the cost it just wasn't worth it. I think stock they are about 110kw (at the motor !) and in a car full of all the nice gear the weight is up around ~1350kg. Sure they go 'OK', but I can tell you now that there is no way that a mildly mod'd MX6 (say 170kw) would beat a R33 with just exhaust and a bit of boost. You just need to do the figures. 170kw and 1350kg (MX6) and say 200kw and 1380kg (R33). Plus the fact that the TX5/MX6 are front wheel drive and traction is a BIG issue... I'm not saying the R33's are the fastest thing on the road cause there's plenty of beasts out there, but these guys just think their MX6's are the best thing since sliced bread !! One day they'll have a proper run against a R32 and R33 and then they'll realise. But I can bet my last dollar they won't tell their mates that they got beaten by one Oh BTW: yes I realised that the R33 was better than the TX5/MX6 and that's why I sold it and bought a R33 [/whinge off]
  25. Yepp - Daughter board would be he way to go. Intial cost may be a little more, but come dyno time you'd save yourself a heap. J
