  1. A big (six foot) long crow bar is the go. Use it to lever the lower arm down. Really easy and you can control the amount you move the arm easily. It doesn't have to be out by much and you won't be able to get the bolt in J
  2. There was a bloke on SDU that welded to in parallel to make a FMIC. He had good results from it, but now-a-days you can get a generic FMIC pretty cheap.
  3. LOL - intercooler with BLING
  4. Good idea, but there's two problems. The stock R33 coolers don't flow very well at anything above stock boost. It's the design and size of the fins/tubes in the cooler itself, so you'll still have the problem of it not cooling very well above stock boost. Then there's the flow restriction. Putting two in series will increase the restriction. If you was to use two you'll be better off putting them in parrallel so they share the air flow. J
  5. I've got the pics that the fella I bought it off of gave me. Not the best of pics, but you can see most the cooler from them. It came up pretty good after a good clean and about 30 mins with two little screw drivers to straighten a few fins. J
  6. Yeah, that's what came out of my Trust one when I flushed it. Pretty shocking... Maybe it should be on the list of things to do every 25,000km or so. Oh, the worst I've seen was a mates GT4 just after the turbo went. The cooler was stood in a bucket on it's end for a week, about four cups fulls of dirty thick oil drained out of it !! Then we used 2lt of kero to flush it. Needless to say the turbo was used as a door stop after that J
  7. Good stuff, I was wondering the same thing about my Trust sidemount. It's 120mm thick with very nice endtanks.
  8. Yep, the ECU on these things are very smart. We clamped the voltage on the AFM to 4.8 volts as a quick test and it still knew what was going on and started retarding the ignition timing. J
  9. I think I've sorted out what I'd be asking for mine - $21,500 ono, or swap with cash adjustment..
  10. G'day SK, I'll be interested in how you configure the new duct. I planned on doing the same with mine until I stuck my head under the front... Then I gave up J P.S. love the new pic in your signature, would look great as a poster.
  11. Marc, I'll give you a buzz on Monday about meeting up. To busy this weekend J
  12. G'day Marc, The Stagea's have seemed to catch on a bit.. I'm in Canberra too, so if you want to have a look over mine we can meet up. Happy to take you for a drive around so you can see how it feels etc.. Cheers Jayson P.S. - still laughing over the tounge-in-ear syndrome
  13. LOL, I've slowly built it up to how it is now. I bought it totally bog stock standard. I like the sleeper theme Stock looking so it doesn't attract to much attention, but plenty of power if you need it
  14. Yeah, I was a bit shocked when I saw the prices. Mines a Dec 96 car. RS4-V with the all leather and electric seats. Dual sunroof's. 67,000 on the clock. Got the factory TV and CD stacker. Titamium silver. Interior is just about spotless and the outside is totally straight and paint is spot on. R34 Gtt mags are the way to go with Stagea's cause I've got them too (with new tyres). Got the factory front and rear spoilers as well. It pulled a tad under 170rwkw on a 2 wheel dyno with a trust side mount intercooler, turbo back custom 3 inch exhaust, upgraded fuel pump, trust adj exh cam gear, high flow panel filter, oil catch can and a Unichip computer with the electronic boost control module set at 11psi. Got the usual full alarm/turbo timer/pager system that rings you when the alarm goes off etc.. Mind you, the car was 100% stock standard when I bought it. Pics are here (good pics on page 2) http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/photopost...t=all&ppuser=63 Looking at the prices around, I think $21,500 ono maybe. J
  15. Hahaha :flamer: lol I'm usually still asleep at that set of lights. I saw that chick in the N/A rex hot behind you too.. But the mighty straight 6 got her
  16. I've noticed a few more coming in to the country in the last few months. And the interest for them is also starting to head up. People are starting to realise how good these things are What sort of km are on these cars ? When I was looking for mine it was pretty hard to find one with under 60,000km on the clock. Bbenny - drop me a PM and we can chat about the figure you had in mind. J
  17. Damn cheap prices !! As Brazen said, is there a catch ? I'll have to re-think the price that I want for mine J
  18. The 4WD dash light is a warning light, so if something is wrong it will come on or flash. It'll come on while your in 2wd mode too. I stumbled across some info on the 4wd switch a while ago. Apparently when pressed it gives a 50/50 split up to 20km/h then after that it gives a constant 30/70 split unless the fronts need more, then it'll give upto 50/50 split. J
  19. An amazing picture, but I feel sorry for the bloke sitting next to the motor
  20. Unicorns have a really big horn. May realate to us Stagea drivers
  21. Same, Before Unichip install I was getting around 350-370km to 60lt at stock boost After Unichip I'm now getting 420-450km per 60lt, and that's with the boost controler set at 11psi They run damn rich in stock form, and just get richer with exhaust/pod/boost/FMIC.. One thing that I stumbled across a while ago was a wire on the ECU pinouts for the lockup of the torque converter !! Now I'm not sure it it's just a sensor to tell the ECU when the converter is locked up, or if it's the signal FROM the ECU telling the converter to lock up ! Would be interesting if we could get the converter to lock up faster and stay locked up for longer. J
  22. Just be sure not to skimp on the power wires for the amp. Keep the power leads as short as possible (sometimes a bit hard) and run THICK power cables. The longer the cables are then the thicker you have to go to make sure theres the least voltage drop. And make sure the negative cable is just as thick as the positive, and ground it very well. If you find that the voltage across the amp is still dropping when turning it up then it's time for a new battery or inspect your alternator (that's if your really keen). Saying that, it looks like your not going to running massive amounts of power, but still best to do a decent job of it. J
  23. Any chance of a pic with one installed ? Thanks J
  24. Spotted heaps today. Black R32 GTS-t on Travener St Oxley at about 10am, then a Silver R33 GTR at Erindale car park at about 12.30pm, and I think it was Bluprint on Drakeford Drive at about 1.30pm then a black R32 GTR on Drakeford Drive at about 1.45pm. Big day J
  25. Very cool !! One of my friends has one, she uses it in summer to ride to work etc. A tank of petrol is about $6 and lasts all week J
