Yepp just. When I say just I mean about half a bonnet length !! So there really wasn't anything in it. The GTS's are very heavy. Something like 1680kg's (someone correct me if I'm wrong here), compared to the GTS-t's at about 1380kg's.

Hehehe, I've had a quick run with a GTS. It was a rolling start from about 20km/h to 140km/h. There was nothing in it upto about 110km/h then I was just (and I mean JUST) pulling away. I was totally shocked as was the bloke in the GTS At that stage I had a turbo back 3 inch exhaust, 12psi boost, and a pod with CAI !! Oh - I've got a 1995 GTS-t. Not bad for a car that is about 1/4 the cost J

Thumping noise. tien coil over suspension
Jay95R33 replied to Champinco's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I had one that used to thump like what you have explained. I pulled the strut out of the car and there was a little bit of play in the top hat. It ended up being the top nut was loose about 1 turn !!! I gave it a tighten with a spanner (about 2 turns) and then it was totally silent. Unless you've got oil leaking all over the place which is an internal thing, then it could just be something as simple as the top bolt. J -
RB25 - could you send it my way to please. Email is [email protected] Thanks J

I've had good results with the TurboXS HPBC. Cost's a little more though - about $130. Just remember to keep the hoses as short as possible. J

The Skyline and HP...... debate and comment (PLEASE NO MUD SLINGING)
Jay95R33 replied to IMACUL8's topic in Western Australia
I too agree, although my reply was based on the comment "I dont understand your infatuation with dyno hp figures... ", and not so much on the misinformation and lack of direction. I suppose I was just trying to say that everyone is different and we have to respect that, no matter what they decide what their goals are. J -
The Skyline and HP...... debate and comment (PLEASE NO MUD SLINGING)
Jay95R33 replied to IMACUL8's topic in Western Australia
Personal Choice. It's easy. Different people have different goals. One person will build a car to do 12's down the 1/4 mile, while another will build a car to break 200rwkw (on any given dyno), while another person will put stickers on the car and put neons on it cause that's what they want to do. It doesn't matter if people are infactuated with dyno figures, neons, stickers, or 1/4 mile times, cause that's what pleases them, and when it comes down to it who are we to question what they want to do with their own car and with their own money. I'm not having a go at anyone here, and I'm sorry if I'm coming across a bit strong but diversity is what makes the world exciting. J P.S. - again, not having a go at anyone, but as different dyno's can spit out different figures, so can different drag strips spit out different times due to to condition, surface, preperation etc. So again, the only way to comapare is to do the cars on the same dyno and/or on the same strip. -
Nope, that's not normal. I get around 440km to the tank (when the fuel light comes on) with city driving. I'd check the O2 sensor. Sometimes the Jap's love to run high octane fuels that have lead in them. And the lead kills the O2 sensors Drop it in for a look over and see what they say, but 200km per tank city driving isn't right. J

Door Unlock button (urgent help plz :))
Jay95R33 replied to Ash's topic in General Automotive Discussion
NismoGirl - with the wire cut you can still lock the door, but not unlock the door. You can still unlock the pass' door by unlocking the drivers door and the central locking will then unlock the pass' door. I personally would my car as hard as possible to get into, so I have cut the wire. Sure my alarm will go off as soon as they open the door, but I'd like to make it as hard as possible to get the door open in the first place ! For an explaination of what can be done have a look at a5h's post above. Cheers J -

Coco - yepp, it's a R33 thing.. J -
MA160802 - yepp, don't leave it in 2wd otherwise you'll run the risk of burning out the clutchpacks. The R33 GTR's area a little different to the R32 GTR's. When you pull the fuse on a R33 GTR it will still transfer a small amount of torque to the front wheels. Best thing to do is disconnect the front drive shaft - but I wouldn't drive around like that ! How long have you had the car for? I'd been looking to see if you've got a HKS ATTESSA controler in your car, or something simular. You might be suprised to find a little after market electronic controler that they may have put on in Japan and never took off. J

Door Unlock button (urgent help plz :))
Jay95R33 replied to Ash's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Aero - there is a switch on the drivers door that you press and it will lock/unlock the passengers side door. I'm not talking about the the drivers door lock, I'm talking about the other one that is there. If you cut the wire to the button, you can still just unlock the doors manually etc. Cutting the wire does not affect the central locking in anyway. J -
Door Unlock button (urgent help plz :))
Jay95R33 replied to Ash's topic in General Automotive Discussion
G'day dude, Yepp, it's strongly advised to do this. I did mine and from memory it's a brown wire that you cut. Or a wire with a brown stripe on it. Cut it so you have enough left so you can join it back up. So if you do cut the wrong one you can still join it up again. When you've cut the right wire, the button will still lock the doors, but won't unlock the doors. Cheers Jayson -

Cool, Hay if you don't mind me asking, how much did you get for it? PM me if you want to Just wondering what mine is worth second hand J -
LMAO - It sounds like this bloke has had his ass handed to him recently by a Skyline owner, and now he'll do anything to prove his 'torry' will beat a Skyline.. LOL I think he's been sucking on a few too many VB's.. Or maybe he has just figured out that he has a double jointed back and he's sucking on something else !!! J

Not sure gav. On the bottle it doesn't say anything about diff whine, just diff chatter. -
Cool - Well I'll chuck in $20 to the pot. Just need another 10-15 people and we've got ourselves a copy. I'm sure out of all the paying members we should be able to scrape together enough.

The stock wastegate on the R33 GTS-t turbos are set at about 0.5 bar (6-7psi). So if you run a hose from the inlet pipe straight to the wastegate you should get about 6-7psi - try that and see if it's correct. If it opens sooner than this then I would say that the wastegate spring is stuffed and is to loose, in which case it won't make much boost regardless of what you do (apart from disconnecting the wastegate hose all together !!). If correct then tee in the valve inline with this hose - that's all I've done to increase my boost. I've taken the stock solinoid out of the car totally. The boost solieniod in the GTS-t's only bleeds off 2psi above 4500rpm. It does nothing else. I would say that the valve can't vent enough air to make a difference to boost maybe? J

LOL - let me know the address

I wonder how it would go if the club (ie. SAU) bought a copy for it's members to use. Would this be in breech of any law? If it is possible, then we would just have to get more people to get off their backsides and make some donations to the club !!! I suppose the problem is that it's a fine line, and the risk of breeching copyright laws and being wacked with a big fine may not be worth the risk. I think I just answered my own question !!! J
