  1. When re-filling, to 'bleed' the system you'll need to run the car and go left full lock - right full lock, about 7-10 times, while keeping an eye on the fluid level. BTW: sometimes the power steering pump can make nasty noises while it's very low on oil. Not sure if it's bad for it, but do it as fast as you can J
  2. LOL - funny stuff Actually, it snowed for about 2 minutes here in Canberra last week !!!
  3. Guys, Thanks heaps for the replies - really apprieciated. But one thing to remember is that my 2 way diff is totally different to the normal Nissan LSD, and going from what I have read, need particular types of oil for them to work correctly. I understand that certain types of oils work really good in the factory Nissan LSD, but has anyone had experiance with different types of oils in a 2 way diff? Cheers J
  4. Nope - it is actually part of the clutch kit. You don't have to break the gearbox open to get to it. When you replace your clutch, you should replace the bearing at the same time. J
  5. dAVE, Your PM box is full !!!!. J
  6. Fair enough, but just remember that the speed metre is effected by wheel spin.
  7. Rev's right. The one thing the Apexi speed meters don't take into consideration is wheel spin. You can sit in one spot and bag the wheels up, and once they wheels have done 400m worth of rotations it'll give you a time
  8. Dave, I've sent you a PM J
  9. I might give him a buzz. But this diff isn't a standard Nissan item. It's a Cusco, ATS or something like that.... I'll see what he says anyway. Thanks J
  10. Primo, I'll have a set of JIC height adjustables for sale in about 2 weeks. They would've been available this week, but a certain company sent me the wrong springs for the other set I'm putting in the car Oh, they have pillow ball uppers on the fronts too. I'll be looking at $1k for them. Cheers J
  11. Sounds like a good idea. There was a Canberra/Sydney cruise about 12-18 months ago, went through Kangaroo Valley and stopped at a dam somewhere. And that was a big sucess A very good day. I think there was about 40 or so cars !! It's all in the planning. Plan times, route, meeting places, desination, and a fail safe just incase a few people get lost J
  12. Tan, I'll drop you a PM. J
  13. Neil, yeah I was suprised that Nissan didn't have them in stock, and I couldn't be bothered waiting weeks for it to come in Strange size too, 17mm is pretty small. Hopefully sideway will have a spare
  14. Could be a gearbox mount or maybe the universal joint in the tail shaft is stuffed. Get under the car and give the tail shaft a twist. If there's heaps of play (movement) then it's a uni joint or gearbox bearing. J
  15. Ahhhh cool, if we meet up while your in town I'll give you a demo and see what you think J
  16. Yepp, I've seen this in a mates R33 GTS-t. Freaked me out the first time I think it's a safety or security feature (car jacking?). J
  17. Yepp, without a dought, 17mm. Strange hay !! Maybe this might make my car faster due to less weight
  18. woooohooo - PM coming your way..
  19. A mate has a R32 GTS4 and had the fuse pulled for about a week or so with no problems. I think you might loose the ABS as well as the 4wd though. I wouldn't do it to a R33 though, cause I think it's a different setup. J
  20. OK, I've just spent the last 2 1/2 hours searching the net for info on what type of oil to put in my 2 way diff.. Every site says that the type of oil can dramatically change the effectivness of a 2 way diff. What I'm trying to find out is if it's possible to lossen the diff by putting in a lighter or heavier weight oil. And if so, which one? Apart from that, I dare say the oil has never been changed, so it'll need a fresh drink anyway. Does anyone know? Anyone..... J
  21. Here ya go. Heres a pic of a nut !! LOL It's a 17mm for sure - I just checked. Thanks Jayson
