  1. Yepp, just as we thought, Rev's got one of those freak 1995 cars :uh-huh: It's good to see that the ping issue 'shouldn't' be anything major. Are you getting them cleaned using the ultrasonic bath way? Once you get the ping sorted, and back for a re-tune, I reckon you'll see your 12 second pass :uh-huh: Well done J
  2. I think this may have been mentioned previously, but how the hell are Taxi's with those big box things sitting ontop of the dash right in front of the driver legal !!! I've NEVER heard of a Taxi getting a defect notice for them, so what goes !!!
  3. Yeah, that's true. I remember dropping my old car off for a tune and getting a phone call an hour later saying that all the pads need replacing and the discs need machining. I told him that I checked them a week prior and that he was trying to rip me off !!! He's responce - oh, we'll check again, they might be OK then !!! Anyway, Sidewaymambo - I've attached a pic of the pads I've got. Don't worry, I've got 4 pads, only took a photo of 2 of them
  4. DJ - you'll like the greenstuffs Just make sure you get the disc's machined too. I got about 20% better braking from them...
  5. Ummmm, how can I explain this.... The stock pads felt like standard pads, while the EBC's have more intial bite to them. Bad explaination, sorry One of the reasons I got rid of the stock pads was cause they can be noisey. Sometimes they would squeal when pulling up at the lights. But the front disks were pretty glazed over too, so matbe that had something to do with it??? J
  6. Hard or soft ??? You mean the pad material? I put EBC greenstuffs on the front, hence why I've got a spare set.. J
  7. The ride is firm but not harsh (if that makes sense). At the moment I've got them set pretty high at only 20mm lower than stock, so there's a fair bit of pre-load on the springs, so if you wind them down a bit it would soften them. I've a pretty steep gutter at my place, and a low lip on the front spoiler, so I'm going back to stock shocks... Plus I'm getting old... LOL The ones I have have full pillow ball tops too. J
  8. Phillip, I've got a front set of stock pads with *Jay run's into the other room* about 6-7mm of meat left on them.... Actually, looking at these, I'm not sure if they are stock !! Do the stock pad's have a green metal backing !!! J
  9. I'll have some JIC coil overs available in a month or so. Height adjustable only though.... J
  10. Yepp, factory seatbelts should have been changed when the compliancing was done. Like said above - have a look at the vacum hose going to the brake booster. It'll have the date stamped on it, just keep in mind that it may have been a month or two between when the hose was made to being fitted on the car and the car being rolled out the doors. I recently saw a 1994 GTS-t that had a date of 25th November 1993 stamped on the hose. Mine has 28th September 1995 stamped on it, so I'm guessing that my car was one of the last series 1's made.......
  11. I like that :uh-huh: Basically a brand new ball bearing turbo that has been matched to the RB25det and can flow upto 350hp for $2000 !! I'll be looking very closely at that when the time comes. Just one last question SydneyKid (I promise ) - from your experieances, how effeicant are these highflows at around 13-14psi? The thing that worries me about the HKS' and others, is that apparently they only start showing their balls at 16psi+ If I get a replacement, I wouldn't want to go higher than 14psi, but would want to get good flow at that level... Does that make sense !!! Basically I'd want to get the most power I can at 14psi with good/strong mid range power and if possible have it spool up close to the factory turbo. Sort of like having your cake and eating it too Cheers J
  12. We (Canberra people) just got a GCG rep for the ACT region. Met he the other day and he seems like a good bloke and really knows his stuff. I might have to have a chat to him when/if I get my turbo done. SydneyKid - that price for the GCG highflow, was that with ball bearing or thrust bearing? I'm thinking thrust... Cheers J
  13. Yepp, there are glues that can be used to seal intercoolers. When I bought mine, it had 3 largish leaks in it. I dropped it off to NatRad (any radiator and air con fix it person should do) and they fixed it. Not shure what the glue is called, but they use it on their air con cores and apparently it's good upto some stupid amount of pressure (I think it's 60psi+ !!!). It's a two part glue, and after it's set it rck hard, like HEAPS harder than the aluminium. I hope that helps J
  14. R32 GTS-t's don't have them
  15. Cool - as long as it's working now
  16. Well done, did you get that problem that you had sorted out? J
  17. Yeah, I thought Toby got the 0-100m and 0-100km/h mixed up with that comment 'why is skyline only 3 seconds faster that a human to 100' J
  18. LOL - I'm pretty sure they are talking about 0-100 k/ph, not 0-100m J
  19. Yepp :uh-huh: I'm going to download the smaller ones (less than 150meg) that are in the root directory just to see what they are about. There's also a few big ones in the Best Motoring directory.
  20. Yepp, no worries. Just the BIG ones (150+ megs) I'll grab off ya. The others I'll download over night with Download Accel. Should only take about 53 months !!! Damn dialup
  21. OMG !!! OK, who is willing to burn these vids to a disc and send them to me??? There'll be some $$$ for ya J
  22. I had a cheapo one in my old car and it worked fine. It got a bit confused when there were lots of hills (steep up, then steep down), but I think that may have had a lot to do with the car not having the greatest of power My old car was a manual, and it took the signal from the tacho output. So when you set the speed, it would try and hold 'X' amount of revs in closed loop with the throttle. It scared the crap out of me the first time I used it. Went into a 70km/h corner doing 115km/h !!! And in my old car that was very scarey But you get used to them very fast
  23. It stops the HICAS computer reporting errors hence the 5-7 wires. If it was just to turn the light off I'm sure it would be a lot easier. J
  24. Tomei make one that wires into the HICAS computer and also uses metal shim's to lock the wheels in at the correct angle. Not sure which is better (bar v electronic thingy and shim's). I've got the Tomei kit in mine and never had any problems with it. J
  25. Dude, Any luck ? Cheers J
