  1. Yepp. R32's have them under the bonnet, while the R33's have them in the boot cause there is just too much HP power under the bonnet James, glad you told me cause I'll be in the market for a new battery soon. The one that's in mine now goes flat if I leave the radio running for more than about 30mins So far I've charged it 3 times in the last 2 years cause it wouldn't start the car..... What size/type/CA did you end up getting? I had a look at mine and I think I'll have to change the terminal connectors to larger ones if I go with a bigger battery. And I've still got the vent pipe thingy that can connect to a unsealed battery. I suppose I'd need to get one that the pipe connects to if I go with an unsealed battery ??? J
  2. Yeah, they seem to have a few wierd 'in house' rules. But it's all good now, he should be getting the car very soon. He might even be at the cruise in June
  3. I go without food for 2 days a week so I can afford the skyline. It's all worth it when I drive it
  4. Sometimes the factory oil presure gauge tends to do what it wants - pretty common thing. When the oil is warm and just cruising around mine will sit at the midway point (about 4). At idle when warm about 2ish. When stone cold at idle it'll go upto about 6ish. I think it depends partly on the type of oil you us too. Anybody else??? J
  5. JimX - yepp, thats the same problem I have, but I run the car up on a bit 4x2 wood which is enough to then get the jack under the car...
  6. Ahhhh, cool... Thanks Jayson
  7. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that it's just relocated cause I'm currently using a 1993 ECU in my 1995 car and it works fine (other than the damn flat spots being more noticable ) So I'd say the module is somewhere else. :uh-huh:
  8. Don't worry, mine hasn't got one either. From what I've seen, it looks like there was (sort of) two types of motors in the Series 1 range and this is one (maybe the only) of the small differences. Yours is a 1995 or later model right??? J
  9. Yepp, your right. They are slowly making it harder and harder for anyone to buy imports. If only they realised that the reason we buy them is cause most the cars that Australia make are crap But the good news is that my mate rang up later and told the bank that he wanted a personal unsecured loan for $20k to go out to the Casino on Saturday night and pi$$ all the money up against the wall, and they gave it to him !!! He should pick the car up on Tuesday if all goes well...... J
  10. Sorry dude, Try here: http://hyperwa.com/sau/cai/
  11. Steve - yepp I totally agree. Only a good driver can show the full potential of a good car. J
  12. Franks - like I said, this car is in Australia and is fully registered. It sucks..... J
  13. How this... A mate is getting a R33 GTS-t. Arranged a loan through a Credit Union here in Canberra but once the time came to hand over the cash the Credit Union changed their mind !! The excuse they gave was "we've decided not to loan money for imported cars" !!! WTF??? This car had already been imported and we drove it a few days ago, so basically it's a private sale - it has rego and everything so it's not like he has to pay for it now and wait for it to come over from Japan. He explained that he had full insurance ready for it, so if it got written off and stolen the loan would be paid in full by the insurance company. Still no luck. He explains that it's just like buying a second hand Commodore. Still the same answer "we've decided not to loan money for imported cars"!!! So he rings two other banks. Same deal, they are happy to give him he money, but not to buy a imported car !!! Are the banks now in with the government on trying to stop us from buying imported cars? He ended up just ringing back and getting a personal (unsecured) loan for the money. I'm sure this is some sort of conspiracy against us all......I better go now - I think someone is watching me J
  14. I always get around 400km to a tank. And that's before the fuel light flashes at me The last time I drove it 'till the fuel light came on it was about 450km. Yepp, check your O2 sensor and maybe clean your AFM. J
  15. And here is another pic of looking into the pipe where the red band is. I know it's fuzzy - the camera had problems focusing on it J
  16. Guys - time for a group hug :grouphug: OK, the attached pic is the pipework and solinoid off of my series 1 R33 GTS-t. See the hose on the left how it has a red band around it. Well that indicates where the restricot is in the pipe. Have a look. J
  17. SydneyKid - I was hoping that you'd reply here Can you see any problems using only the RB25DE exhaust cam (with adj pulley) in the RB25DET and keep the original cam so you can keep the VCT?? Or would you rather use just a adj cam pulley on the stock RB25DET exhaust cam and not bother using the RB25DE cam at all - just talking about mild mods, nothing serious Cheers Jayson
  18. This might be a long shot - but it could be the harmonic's of the motor at those RPM/Load. Sort of extra 'noise' that the knock sensors think it's knock... Any idea when your peak torque is?? Could be doing it on your peak torque too?? Strange stuff though - like said before, might be time for a test and tune on a dyno..
  19. You probably know this, but remember that the higher the gear the more load is on the engine and therefore more likely to ping. You might have to pull 1 or 2 degrees of timing off of her. Or doesn't it happen in 4th and 5th?? I suppose to find out if it does ping in 4th or 5th you'd have to be doing mach 3 or something
  20. How do you think it'd go if you got a GTR cam and adj cam gear for the exhuast side, and keep the factory inlet cam so you can keep the VCT in the inlet side of things? Would it work OK or would it be too much of a mismatch in inlet/outlet cams??? J
  21. Damn you Merli !! LOL - good work...
  22. There's no option for Pimp
  23. Yepp, I've got to agree with that. If someone is too lazy to use their indicators, it usually means they are to lazy to do a head check. And we all know how bad it is when your next to someone and they decide to take your lane and push you off the side of the road !!! J
  24. D'oh....
  25. What a pi$$ poor excuse !!! You could at least fly back for the weekend LOL - I should be there. Might be able to scrounge up another too Mind you - that weekend is renound for being about minus 5 here in Canberra !!! J
